  • This just shows that all installers have a different way of doing things.

  • Wrapped edges came before your time. I have never seen you mentioned on any 3M lit. I guess its the Lexus made lit only. You didn't mention that.

Doing this part time and on the side does not make you a pro. It makes you an experienced novice.

Someone as experienced as you claim would know that 8 years ago wrapping was the standard of pros and even how 3M showed in their training videos and for many year after.

I guess I am what you would call a guru. Any questions!....THINK about it.

  • Those factory Toyota kits are the worse!! They're installing them at the port. They're getting better but coverage is very minimal and they don't install any bumpers

  • Your telling me....hehe. The best thing though is that it is easier to upsell the bumper, door cups, door edges and rear applique once they see it on there. The retail of $429.00 for that kit is crazy in it self, but yet again that is not up to me. They want to help reduce the rock chips but dont provide as much cover as they need. I have been installing kits on Lexus/Toyota for almost 7 years and they by far have some of the worst paint on any vehicle. It shows chips so easy compared to other

  • So, why wouldn't you wrap the edges on that car or any car for that matter? Every clear bra I have seen without looks very poor.

I was at a lexus dealership in KC the other day and saw one of those new IS hybrids with that film on the hood, fenders and mirrors and it looked terrible. Small hood and fenders and nothing lined up well. Same thing with the Infinity dealer down the street. More film but poor fit. Both high priced! I guess its a matter of finding a good installer.

  • Not every vehicle needs to have wrapped edges especially on this vehicle which would require removing abit of the front end of the vehicle. Not every client wants to pay for the little bit more of coverage you get and in most cases its not necessary. After 8 years of installing even before wrapped edges came into the picture I have not had one client mention why it does not wrap around. The install is just the finishing touch at the end, if you explain a clients options and let them know what is

  • available ahead of time, then you have no issues down the road.

As far as Lexus is concerned I do 99% of their vehicles and now most of the 2010 are coming standard with a basic hood and fender kit which barely covers up to 12", but it has a neat Lexus logo on each piece ( sarcism there). I would like to show my work and give a good name for those of us who have been around and have helped the industry out over the years.....take alook at some of the 3M literature that is out there and you

  • may notice I am mentioned in some of it. Maybe before you start criticising and asking why I do things this way-----THINK. Or better yet ask me yourself or tell me your background and what makes you the PPF guru.

Also just FYI there is no such thing as an IS hybrid, it is a HS250 and nothing like an IS250/350. And as far as pricing luxury vehicles tend to carry a higher price tag for everything, especially coffee mugs so do some research.

So I invite you to watch me install........
