Listen to a lot of In Flames/Soilwork...come up with a catchy rhythm riff and follow it up with a nice harmonized melody while still keeping it heavy. It's hard to explain haha.

depends on your equipment. Mess around with the placement of your microphone from where your amp is and test to see where it sounds best...I put my mic right in front of my amp and keep the amp volume low and it sounds pretty good.

you can get a 4-track these days for pretty cheap aswell, then you can lay down a rhytmn riff, then have 2 melodies and have one whatever interval you want from the 1st one to harmonize it and its all pretty magic really (:

I usually use a microphone in front of my amp and record one part on my computer. This video I didn't have a microphone so I just recorded a video of myself playing on my computer, then played over that. I actually put up the video that this is harmonizing over. It's Metalcore Madness 2 (Unharmonized)...it's in the related videos to the right actually.

that's what he and i are working on. phil's playing guitar, my roommate matt is playing drums, and i'll be doing vocals (don't mind the vocals on the finished song i wrote and posted on here...i don't really sound like that). we need another guitarist (really good and better than phil and i if possible and who is better than us at writing solos) and a bassist.
