The problem with the IR machines is that the edges of the repair are falling apart after about 6 months. I think what is happening is people using the IR are not adding enough oil into the asphalt & not raking in the oil all the way to the edges. Love the thought of these machines but I will stick with what I know works & that is a cut out.
5 men being used for what should be a eay 2 man operation! The worst thing is at 0.29 - the blacktop is on fire and the labourer is checking to see if the asphalt is heated enough!!!
I know that the guys are still getting used to the process but what about some training or supervision by someone with some IR experience.
Good luck with the IR process - great when applied correctly and in the correct situation.

Is there a problem with water coming up from under the road?
A properly patched and sealed repair should last for years.
