  • Upea esitys !!

  • It is so strange, sometimes I get confused...what do I love more...is it women...or...is it music? Back in `69 at 19 I thought I knew, women, period & pointblank. Time slips by and ya win some & ya lose some then...I hear this song again and aaaaall I can think about is her, Aphrodite, the gorgeous Greek creature that got away. Maybe I didn't love her at all, all those yrs ago...maybe I was simply under the influence of -- music?

  • eu queria pesquisar LOVE STORY< e vcs sao sem cultura, e colocaram musica errada, essa musica se chama A time for us! post errado

  • Fantastic!

There's also a modern version of this fabulous score.

Search for: Lebowski - Romeo & Juliet

  • Dançei isso no Teatro, muito boito, maravilhoso! E não, n eh pra se sentir um saco plastico é pra se sentir um passaro isso que eh romantismo gente (y)

  • very beautiful including scenes of southern Japan... thanks Henry and Otaku..

  • Brilliant and beautiful.

  • somehow the plastic bag made that version sounds cheap

  • Lovely peace of music. I love the soundtrack for this version of Romeo & Juliet. <3

  • Whether or not you believe in an infinite being, beautiful music like this is the reason that man was put on this earth.

  • thank you for this awesome song

  • I'm so glad I found this video. My mom used to play this song on the piano every night after putting us to bed. Beautiful music

  • This was the very first record I ever owned at about 5 yrs old. I remember my dad was so happy when he bought it for me...thanks so much for uploading....

  • wonderfull, it makes me quiet.. i am looking for the sheetmusic. Can you help me.

    fabienne

  • ENCHANTING & HAUNTING

  • @GrammyboyXD couldn't have said it better!

  • Ugh! The orignial music for the film is NOT this goopy Musac elevator shit. Did Mancini actually write this material or is this just him getting his hands on it?

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • To all you pro wrestling fans out there (like myself): This was the #1 song in the USA when Jon Heidenreich came into the world (June 28, 1969).

  • This is NOT Mancini, this is Nino Rota.

  • @Alfgard1 It was originally by Henry Mancini. He made the song, but there are several different versions, like Christapher Peecock's, Or Nino Rota's, and quite a few more... As you know, Henry Mancini IS known for his Magnificent music. His music is usually jazz, so it IS surprising though.

  • @Alfgard1 you're right the original is by Nino Rota

  • I clicked on this video thinking it was going to be trivial and cheesy.

30 seconds in...I started feeling what I felt when I fell in love with the most amazing girl in the world. I felt as though it was only me and her running through the world together, and nothing else mattered. Then I started to feel the horrible pain that associated with my unrequited love for this women. I felt like my world was falling apart, and life was just not worth living anymore. I cried by the end.

  • What a lovely song.

  • Hank and his paison Nino get together for Hank's only #1 single. Two greats.

  • zzzzzzzzzz

  • From the summer of 1969, this beautiful theme song from Shakespear's timeless love story....

  • there's no such a concept like 'love' on this earth, get to learn it....

  • One of the greatest love songs of all times

  • buckethead!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I got THIS theme mixed up with Love Story's theme circa 1980,or 81 or 82!It's hard to imagine that, but my confusion didn't last for long.Although, to this very day, i feel they're similiar in mood. And to think, these two themes were played at a wedding!

  • @MyAcedog Love Story was 1971, not 1980's.

  • of course, a #1 smash on the pop charts in summer of 1969

  • @jojodot I believe it was #1 on Billboard music chart for 2 weeks in a row in July 1969 .Such a fantastic year for beautiful songs on the pop charts

  • arrepios, simplesmente!

  • I heard this unexpectedly on the radio today, and i could even play it on the piano, at one time, and I wanted to hear it again. It's so beautiful, so soft and so tender. Mancini always knew what he was doing. Thanks for sharing this beautiful song with us!

  • very beautiful song from a good movie

  • Absolute perfection in every note. What a tremendously beautiful song. Henry Mancini was the top of the tops. This song is beautifully tranquil, smooth, soft, yet at times it swells and soars. So lovely. Thank you for this post.

  • How can anyone dislike this beautiful song

  • i think it would sound better if some of notes weren't rushed like at 0:02 (i kno it was written that way) but i just think it'd sound a bit better

  • So good!

light, beautiful, dreamy, but so sad and ending quite suddenly.... while i wish it would never stop- which also plays so well with the story of romeo and juliet :)

  • yo Aidrean!

  • This is why i LOVE youtube...To hear GREAT music like this on a drop of a hat!!!

  • Gorgeous :D

  • amazing and so sweet!!!

  • 17 peoples have no heart.

  • @biggsydaboss Just delete it and try again. You can remove your own comments.

  • @matrix86 cheers mate I'll endevour to rectify my poem as soon as the fates allow

  • It is a shame that my poem has ended up all higgledy piggledy. Does anyone know of anyway to edit it

  • tear jerker :(

  • this song makes me feel like a plastic bag drifting through the wind . HA HA!!!!!!

  • @trinisavi3

    wanting to start again;p

  • @trinisavi3 me too hahahahahah

  • @trinisavi3 For some reason it makes me feel like I should either go outside and fly a kite or perhaps catch a ride in a hot-air balloon. It does have that feeling of being weightless to it. I'm not sure if that was the original composer Nino Rota or Henry Mancini's 1969 #1 hit interpretation of it -- I just remember that the first year that I was started riding bikes, when I was 6-years old, from Nov 1969 to Nov. 1970 this version was still heard coming from radios a great deal.

  • @trinisavi3 Like American Beauty, right?

  • @trinisavi3 lol, something like that...makes me feel i'll never be happy through this tragic life but i can laugh about it once you learn not to take it all to seriously. and music makes up for the inanity of it all.

  • Zo mooi..........Deze stuurde mijn M.I.B. me dank je wel ik ben en zal je nooit vergeten........Je bent altijd in mijn hart for ever and ever....xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Love it!!!!!

  • божественно

  • currently my favorite to play on the piano. XD

  • A new world

    a world of shinig hope

    for you and me

  • 15 people have mental problems. Or HEART problems. They don't know emotions.

  • To all parents who try to control their kid's choice of who they date or marry, watch this movie.

  • As always, it is so beautiful...

  • @M4000D There is...I won't say greater, since all works of art are equally as amazing as any other, but you may want to try out the Mahabharata and Ramayana from India...

  • wawwwwwwwwwwww relaxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx hermosaaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • i can play this on the piano =]]

  • Simply amazing. Mancini was brilliant. 500 out of 5, naturally.

  • a true masterpiece!! will live forever in people's heart............thanks DocReepery for uploading this beautiful music.

  • Beautiful theme song. Heartbreaking movie.

  • Otaku, your video of Japan is still on Youtube, someone just lifted it from your posting...What say you Doc??

  • Time 2 cry.

  • If I didn't know better, I'd say this was filmed at either Mt. Beacon or Bear Mountain, both of which are near my old hometown, Newburgh, New York, in the Hudson Valley.

  • breath

  • I am soooo glad this video/song popped up. It's like an old friend. I used to play it over & over until my mother said, "that doesn't sound like what you are supposed to be practicing." I'd grumble under my breath & go back to Bach...or Beethoven or some other unromantic piece. Haha!!! This was the beginning of the end for heavy classical til later on. But it was so nice to have such beautiful piano pieces that sounded classical. I love LIGHT classical. I think the simpler, the more beautiful.

  • Imean evocative, not provocative.

  • I always cry when I listen to this song :D

  • docreepery, thank you for posting this. Henry Mancini's version is absolutely the best of all... it is beautiful :)

  • The first time I heard this song was the night after my cat had died. I was 12, and lying in bed unable to sleep for the grief.

It spoke to me. I sobbed and sobbed. Forever since then, this has always been a song to bring me to tears.

  • @Treemeadow It does seem to reach out to our hearts & reminds us of the things we've lost, but at the same time it gives us solace. It is very provocative. I to have shed a tear in rememberance, while listening to this song.

  • Very soothing. Just lovely.

  • omg i think im going to do my figure skating program to this song, but i have no idea how to cut it and my program cant be more than 2 minutes and 10 seconds long or i wont be able to compete

  • using this for my assignment... totally love this song

  • Why is this song always attributed to Henry Mancini? This is a song by Nino Rota. Why not look such things up before posting?

  • @prakkari This arrangment is by Mancini. The song itself is by Nino Rota but there are many cover versions of the tune. This is arguably the most well known arrangement.

  • @prakkari You are right. When the music is great, everyone wants to have the paternity of It. NINO ROTA is the original composer of this music and this is just an arrangement. Give to Caesar what is Caesar's.

  • @RACCATTApalle91804 Thanks for stressing my point. I know this film well. Franco Zeffirelli has the same birthday as I have, so I am a bit sensitive for details here:)

  • to Claire and Carry my beautiful girls i love you both with all my Heart...

  • Bellisima!!

  • love it!

  • Превосходно! Благодарю!

  • I this song is pretty and I like Greensleeves that Henry VIII wrote both take you back to those days!!!

  • @00starlitebrite00 - Actually its a "myth" that Green Sleeves was composed by Henry VIII

  • When I think of this song, I usally do not imagine a visual. THe melody is just a thought. Thank you for sharing the song and your pictures with us.

  • @karolynruffin1 I agree with you completely. The music conjours up the perfect image in the mind

  • The author is NINO ROTA, not Henry Mancini!!!!

    So lovely music...

  • pragmati to apolito tragoudis mias adikoxamenhs agaphs!!!!!!

  • THIS THEME IS NOT OF H. MANCINI. IT IS OF THE ITALIAN COMPOSER NINO ROTA.

  • how did mancini come up with all those sad melodies... I wish I had his ability.

  • @georgemargaris Simple he didn't! It's NOT Mancini!

  • I think that very last note should be sharpened. :)

  • @bloosy

You have got to be kidding... It is perfect. It would render a totally different emotion were it sharp.

  • @bloosy - Yes, that would finish the song with hope, but looks like it was intentionally left with a sense of longing.

  • "O Romeo Romeo! Werefore art thou Romeo!" (2.2)

  • Sounds like something out of Rocky....Adriannnnnnnnn!!!

  • Reminds me of Spirited Away.

  • Truly awesome ! I appreciate your uploading it with great clips.

  • quand la douleur est telle que les mots ne peuvent franchir tes lèvres, laisse la musique parler pour toi et libérer ton coeur...

  • In this tune Mancini must have lost his musical inspiration.

It sounds banal and flat, without an original melody.

Nothing to do with tune like "Breakfast at Tiffany's"

  • @laurion69 With due respect I thing you're wrong here. This is one of the most beautiful piecesof music I have ever heard

  • The most precious thing someone can leave when he dies is music. Mancini did. He was a genius. He will always be remembered.

  • @italoluder So go an hear some! This isn't Mancini!

  • one of his finest compositions!!

  • I heard mp3iiiiify is the best site to download songs like this. Google mp3iiiiify.

  • Sounds like the end theme from Ninja Gaiden 1 on the NES...

  • i like my husbands version better than this. he plays it beautifully on his grand piano

  • This is so beautiful

  • SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • i'm getting relaxed... love it!

  • To all people who have loved & lost love to tragedy. that night when my love was lost the shrill voice of death did call my heart paid the dearest cost loves greatest risk, is to lose it all my heart died with you that night that night the angel beckoned you my dreams my hopes removed from sight never destined to come true i must tread this weary life alone i miss you greatly my faithful friend i have no great sin for which i must atone so we'll be together in the end
  • @biggsydaboss OMG! the most beautiful thing i ever read! it plays perfect with me music! :)

  • @PuccaGenes that is a very kind thing to say. I can not take credit for the way it plays. I have an idea of love being about sacrifice, giving rather then taking. As such the poem wrote itself while I was listening to this piece. There is more to it then that. It also has to do with the hurt I've felt, in my life. Also the hurt I feel others going through.

  • @biggsydaboss i just can say, congrets! i wish i could write like you.

  • @PuccaGenes ok my last comment was a bit fey. I think it's best if I just some it up by saying, first of. Thank you for being kind & secondly. I feel if I wasn't able to put into words the deepest sorrow, regret & happiness I feel I'd probably go mad lol.

  • @biggsydaboss i know what you mean :)

  • @biggsydaboss: Your poem is beautiful! I'm sorry for your loss.

  • @esincha85 Thank you, though it's less about loss & more about the eternal nature of pure love. I believe the connections we make gofar beyond life & actually impacts the whole of existance. It's hard to explain, but I feel life is about those connections. As a scientist once said 'we are the universes way of understanding itself. If that is true, then the bonds we have enrich all things around us & have a long lasting effect.

  • @biggsydaboss Your poem was exquisite! You should really be a poet or a writer when you grow up. Those words were very powerful, "back in the old days" type of words. I like writing, too, but I bet you are better than me. Good going!! :-)

  • @VNvideos13 When I grow up, I'm 32 with 2 kids & 1 on the way lol. I guess a few people might agree with you though I could probably do with a bit more maturing. Thanks very much for the kind word. I believe we all have a talent, I feel mine are words. Though it's strange taking credit for this, as something seems to come over me & the words seem to write themselves

  • @biggsydaboss Yeah, you do have a special rare talent. What better way to express it through words and emotions and feelings? I think you really could have been famous if you sent your poem to New York of someplace. It's important that you get at least some of the credit for writing your heart and soul out to the world.

  • @VNvideos13 cool, but if people keep saying these kind of things to me, I'm not going to fit my head through any doors lol. The best credit I could ever get is the credit regular people give me. So thnx very much & it's nice to hear that you liked it

  • @biggsydaboss Well, I'm not just saying this to you, because I want to. I truly mean what I say. And I really love how you don't want to get so much credit, just credit from regular people. Many could learn a lot from you. It's as if you don't want to be popular and gain fame and glory, but instead have a normal life. But even if you are famous, you would never want to forget your friends and family and never stop writing cuz it's ur passion. You're that type of person.

  • @biggsydaboss Absolutely beautiful

  • @Daqify Thank you

  • @biggsydaboss i cry it make me sad because i love it so much dolly

  • @biggsydaboss

RUN-ON SENTANCE. omg, learn syntax and sentance structure. We can't understand you.

  • @tinylittlelifeform OMG The sentence structure was fine till they changed the layout of the screen. As it's a piece of expression it is mine to choose how i present it. OMG before you have a heart attack I ask you to google, Keats "Do yopu not see how nessesary". One of the worlds finest poets didn't always have time to make comprehention of hie poetry easy to people. Omg your like so OMG. Ok enough OMG's

  • Awesome tune, makes me want to cry when sad :(
