I started at 12. Tried to quit a few times, but never lasted long. At 34 I was diagnosed w/asthma (caused by smoking), but even that wasn't enough to stop me until I ended up in the hospital at 37 for four days with a major asthma attack. I am now completely dependent on inhaled steroids & albuterol inhalers, and I can't exercise vigorously. I once missed a connecting flight because running through the airport triggered an attack. Steroids make me swell up. Was smoking worth it? Hell no.

I started at 12. Tried to quit a few times, but never lasted long. At 34 I was diagnosed w/asthma (caused by smoking), but even that wasn't enough to stop me until I ended up in the hospital at 37 for four days with a major asthma attack. I am now completely dependent on inhaled steroids & albuterol inhalers, and I can't exercise vigorously. I once missed a connecting flight because running through the airport triggered an attack. Steroids make me swell up. Was smoking worth it? Hell no.

So yes, compared to our charts for 40 years ago, we're obese. But today with our new charts asia and europe have more fat people (based on every 10).
