that mission was easy ( made it in the second attempt ,i know iam a looser ...lol ) use the autopilot for heading and speed and altitude ,when on final approach ,just use the ILS ( radio frq = app ) to line up with the airport and let the plane land itself ......done ,oh and yes you will run low on gas ....hehehe no worries the 747 fly's on fewm's ( however u spell that one .lol ),nice clip anyways
dude were u using gps or navigation to fly ?? nd did d plane turn using autopilot ?? (im a beginner.....very tuff for me to linue up runway and i dont know how to communicate with the ATC as u did )
Ive got a question, and I mean this in all sincerity. If, God forbid, you were on a plane and the pilot died (became unable to fly somehow) would all this sim training allow you to land the plane? Do you think you could? I'd be interested to see if you could make it happen.
@69adrummer if you are practiced enough and fly very realistic aircraft, then you could get by. it wouldnt be a smooth thouchdown but you could probably walk away from it which is better than it crashing into a building. but i wouldnt recommend trying to rush the cockpit and take over from the real pilots
nice landing, ils landings are pretty tricky in this weather, i tried this mission, you have to get the runway ils code and put it into the nav 1 radios , then, it will just line itself up with the runway by it self.
Can you or anyone else who knows how to fly all airplanes teach me how too, couse I am going to get fsx deluxe or acceleration on sarturday and I want to know every thing please anyone help me plz.
I went through the flying school in Flight Simulator 2004 and it took me some months with practise to learn everything and still I don't know all the things. The Addon Aircrafts like PMDG 747 are more complex, these default planes aren't at all.
Do all of the Lessons as well as trying the missions over and over.....you ever hear the saying, u can lead a horse to water but you cant get him to drink? As an instructor, some people just get it. Once you take the training wheels off, its up to you to ride the bike. Its not so much teaching you to fly as it is to teach you about the concepts of flying
Did you do the ILS or manual? Every time I do the ILS the airplane glides to the touch down point and goes right through the runway and crashes. Any advise on how to solve that problem.
ive completed this mission every time and what you need to do is a CATIIIB ILS approach witch is autoland in witch if you keep the approach hold down the whole way, the plane will land its self and then you turn autopilot of once your at about 100 feet from touch down or less or you can keep it on the whole time
this "challenge" is really easy if you just know how to program the autopilot to follow the localizer to the runway. Put on a heading hold on the localizer and manage the pitch by hand -- if anybody knows how to program vnav into the autopilot then you have it all taken care of -- also, put on auto throttle to maintain whatever the approach speed is (it says in the challenge) and switch it off at mda when runway is in sight
RTO autobrake is for Rejected-Takeoff XD =]. But other than that, that landing was PERFECT. Usually in that mission I'm a bit off on the center line and pass the touchdown zone but you did awesome.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
That was the worst landing I've ever seen, im sorry, but seriously.. Konerko72, REAL PILOTS lands worse than this? BULLSHIT! LMFAO! They do it 10000 times better..
Okay, you'll have room to talk when you can land a real 747 in a monsoon. However, you're just another thinks-they-know-it-all armchair pilot so shut the fuck up.
Now in the real world when a 747 stalls on a landing, going on the assumption it stalls over the runway, the landing gear would undoubtedly collapse. Worse case scenario a wing could rupture and ignite the fuel inside.
Good lord what's wrong with the autopilot on the FSX 747?! Is it just me or is it a bit odd how they've pasted on an extra V/S button and put the altitude hold button below the speed window? It's also annoying how you can't press the CMD button.
the auto brkes for fsx let you click them but, you dont see the swithch move unless you press shift+1 (2d panel).....I LOVE THIS MISSION! im pretty good at it now

why were the autobrakes on RTO?

I use toe brakes for tracking center line.
I learned A while back to just leave it in the

So basically I was wrong setting that.
Also during wet conditions i learned to use
the autobrakes not the toebrakes.

deliveryguy1970 3 years ago

kolonselenx 3 years ago
Try Full realism. I promise you it's not easy!
Been flying 12 years! How can wind like this
be easy!
deliveryguy1970 3 years ago
You were really slow - made some stalls.
FlyingJ8 3 years ago
Actually, windsheer is what causes the stall
alarms. Windsheer is the wind changing direction
every few seconds. Causing the plane to lift
and drop 5 feet. I would pull 40% spoiler axis to keep from raising. Also remember if you hear a stall alarm it's usually too late to recover. A 747 that low
would drop from the sky.
deliveryguy1970 3 years ago
How long you been flying J8?
I don't think the rating would be this good
if 5,000 people thought I was stalling!
deliveryguy1970 3 years ago
Well, not a long time. From christmas - it's just i didn't stall when i was flying this mission. No offence.
FlyingJ8 3 years ago
I bet you realism settings are not all the
way up. Because if you come in any faster
you get tremendious amounts of lift. I remember this. Try flying a helicoptor in
FS2004 with realism all the way up. LOL
deliveryguy1970 3 years ago
Yeah that's right. Ive got them about half way up...
FlyingJ8 3 years ago
That makes sense. Try the mission on full realism.
That's what makes it hard to land.

deliveryguy1970 4 years ago
erm... why you set the autobrake to RTO?
shouyat 4 years ago
because I planed to use my toe brakes!
For tracking center line!
I have been using auto brakes too.
But in wet conditions, I like the toe brakes
for safety!
Oh If I do use toe brakes, do you use RTO?
Anyone that's a real pilot???
deliveryguy1970 4 years ago
RTO stands for Rejected takeoff If you are going to use the brakes manually dont set auto brakes at all.
rayflyoz 3 years ago
I knew that is was for rejected takeoff. So
for now on I will leave it off,
If I am going to use manual toe brakes.
The reason I like toe brakes is, I can track
center line without jerking the plane with
the rudder.
deliveryguy1970 3 years ago
also with wet or contaminated runways its usually better to use auto braking. Or when you need full performance out of the brakes the system is able to apply full brake presure smoother and quicker than the pilot can.
rayflyoz 3 years ago
I agree!
deliveryguy1970 3 years ago
yeah
dayceroberts 4 years ago
what is the buzzing?
dayceroberts 4 years ago
The auto throtlle is on. So if the plane
is decending and the flaps are 10 degrees
the buzzard warns that the plane is not
using 10% throttle! So I use the speed brake
to keep the throttle open slightly.
Make sense????

you shouldnt be so close to ten degrees of attitude when you flare at the landing, try to be around 5 degrees.
Abbasi123456789 4 years ago
I know this. 10 is alot.
But If you try 5 defrees on this mission
you will hit hard. because i was dropping

Naim356 4 years ago
That is the identifier.
That means you have a correct frequency
or atleast a local frequency. So you just
click shift 2 and your radio stack will open.
Press the vor1 button down below off.
I swear you mean the annoying beeping and
it never stops. The idea is to hear the beeps
then turn off the light below and your ILS
id active.
deliveryguy1970 4 years ago
ye but if u turn it off to early your plane will follow the heading only and wont guide you to the runway, it needs to be active because if you only give the heading it will make your plane fly in a straight line regardless of where the runway is.
Abbasi123456789 4 years ago
The identifier can be turned off right after you hear a signal, which are beeps.
The Vor is always active as long as the
frequecy is in active. So at the bottom of
the radio stack is a vor 1 and vor 2 light/button. These are the identifier buttons.

The beeping is caused from the windsheer.
So when thwe wind changes direction the plane
thinks its stalling.

no, it's the inner marker indication while on the ILS.

WRONG! The beeping is part of the ILS inner marker. The fast clicking noise is the stall!
