@zEropoint68 I so agree! In fact someone should beat them the way they beat this poor innocent child! Pearl's book is a cult and a misinterpretation of Scripture.
I would go out of my way to buy the biggest, baddest gun I can find so that this child can shoot this moronic poor excuse for an abusing "mother" in the face...
The Pearls, the Phelpses, and the Pat Robertson-esque people in this world need to be hunted down and exterminated like the monsters they are. If there were some big meeting with all those people together in one room, I would be very happy if some crazed follower set a bomb off in the room so that "they could all live together in heaven".
Just listening to this has made me physically sick ... there are no words to express my gratitude and respect for your dedication and sacrifice of reviewing this abominable literature. Keep up the good work.
I guess it takes an atheist to find, "treat your neighbor as you wish to be treated", "the least among us shall be our masters", and "love your enemy" in the Bible. I went to Madison and back last week, I thought about what you've been up to lately on the way through. Glad you are still doing humanist work and works revealing the sadistic nature of some people who abuse religion which is idiacy to begin with. I'll try and let you know when I'm down that way with my Hollywood camera PL&H K
I'm sitting here completely mortified for that poor child. WTF kind of world is it when a child has to suffer like that at the hands of his parents(I use that term loosely.) in the name of god?!
At 21 months, this baby is probably still in diapers. I doubt there would have been any physical evidence from so many spankings even if his mother had taken him to the doctor for a surgery checkup. Plus, they probably wouldn't have examined him without a diaper. Poor kid has no chance. :-(
@debbieomi WTF kind of world is it when a child has to suffer like that at the hands of his parents? It's the kind of world Pearl is trying to create.
@TheMudbrooker I've stayed away from Pearl's site as I don't usually invite negativity into my life. I don't know what possessed me to do so last night. It only took two clicks of my mouse to feel my blood boiling again. I read two articles concerning marriage and the whole 'what god has brought together" bullshit. My jaw hit the floor when he said that if a man abuses his wife or child he should be jailed but that the wife should be waiting for him with open arms when he has paid his debt.
@debbieomi Pearl's latest target is brainwashing teenage girls into believing that they are worthless without a husband to be utterly subservient to. That's one of the subjects I plan on dealing with in this series, but honestly it will be difficult, I've always had strong, independent in my life. Since that kind of subservient mindset is so foriegn to me, I don't really have a frame of reference from which to work.
Fuck that letter makes me want to smack the shit out of that mother, why hasn't child protective services stepped in and taken him out of that fucked up home? She should at least be criminally charged with abuse. >.>
@MistressArte Some body has to complain to the authorities first, most of Pearl's followers homeschool their children so there is little contact with outsiders who don't share their views. For the most part, they only associate with like-minded people whose kids are just as bruised.
@TheMudbrooker Damm, we really need people getting involved with these fuckers, if no one pays any attention to them we can get another Jamestown. Like no one should ever be able to have that amount of control over their kids. I'd do anything for my mom and I respect her, however that respect and love was earned by her not being an asshole. That's what needs to be taught not this horrid thing.
But did you know that the picture at ca. 1 min. is of the infamous Mr. Vidkun Quisling parading troops outside the Norwegian castle? It's only fitting ;-)
@skinnyjohnsen I thought you might catch that. :) Yes, I picked Quisling deliberately, he seemed most appropriate. It's too bad I couldn't find a picture of him reviewing the troops in a more impressive uniform.
@TheMudbrooker Quisling was never a military of any high rank. During the war he was a civilian. He was not a part of the German army. So, no, I don't think you'll ever find it ;-)
Deeply disturbing. As a father of three well adjusted, loving, kids, raised without violence towards them, I am appalled to hear of such abuse of children. Simply criminal. Good thing I dropped the sky daddy delusion before I had kids.
Ok, so I guess I should have asked; was there any indication that any child support agency ever got involved, and if not why not? Was the letter written and published at the time that the abuse took place?
I know I may be asked for more info than you have but half this is just rheorical outrage...I know that shit like this happens all the time and it's depressing as hell, but usually it's not touted as a prime example of how to raise your kids. Not in a supposedly 'civilised' country anyway.
@Teloculos As near as I can tell, the letter was written close to the time the abuse occured but it was published with only her initial as a signature. Presumably the Pearls would have had her name and address and could have turned it in the child protective agency in whatever state she was from, if they so chose. But since they chose to trumpet this as a success story, that's highly unlikely.
@AuntieDiluvian I don't know about prison; Pearl is sure to put enough disclaimers in to keep his ass covered and he can always hide behind his pulpit claiming his techniques are a religious belief. But there is a chance he could be ruined in civil court, he started selling this shit in 1994 and the first wave of children subjected to his system will be adults soon. There is no lack of lawyers in the U.S. who'd take on a case like this, especially if it turned into a class action suit.
The beatings will continue until moral improves. HOLY SH!T! a heart condition???? That kid could die from that kind of damage after getting that kind of a beating!
@TheMudbrooker Hopefully, the parents would be held liable for all therapy-related costs. I've been wondering whether this situation could've been avoided if Mr. Pearl wasn't around. Given the mother's personality, my guess is no.
@violentlygraceful True, this mother probably would have ended up abusing her child anyway, but Pearl was all too happy to step in and praise her for doing so and make money at it besides. That's what makes him so reprehensible.
To an Atheist like me, this is more proof there is no god. If there were a god, this sort of stuff would never happen. If I were a powerful, omnipotent god, I would not permit it and I'm certainly not god.
@DevilWomanCake I'm not the only one, Artemisfair, TheLizardLass, Godlesspanther and AuntieDiluvian (all of whom I highly recommend) among many others have worked to bring this guy to the public's attention.
After watching the video, I actually had to sit here in silence for a moment to gather myself. I'm still not even sure what to say. I've heard little about this man, but the little I know is enough to make me wonder why he isn't behind bars. Why is he allowed to teach this shit? What the fuck is wrong with the parents to think this is ok? Rhetorical questions, all of them. This made me sick as hell. I can't imagine the suffering that child will go through for the rest of his life.
@penixnet No doubt she'll play the pious christian mother who tried her hardest but still couldn't keep her beloved son from falling into the clutches of satan.
I also read Pearl's letters from his sheep. There was one from a woman who had a miscarriage and she wanted to know if she was 'wrong' for feeling bad about it. Pearl, of course, told her that she was wrong and that god know better, blah-blah. One of the things he said was something like -- "imagine if that child was born and grew up to be unsaved?" I like the beginning of this where you talk about making that fucker "SQUIRM." Are Pearl's bitches monitoring all these comments?
@Godlesspanther Yeah, it sure looks like pearl's underlings are watching. I've heard from people who've been preemptivly blocked from his Youtube channel and blog for making anti-Pearl videos. Saturday night I got a comment from an obvious sock account spouting pure Pearl PR bullshit.
I only hope this kid is going to the Dr. on a regular basis & is being monitored for his heart condition. Most Dr.'s don't take kindly to bruises. I will never understand how an adult can hit a child. Something is wrong with these people & for him to teach how to do it is even worse.
@sheri226 There's no follow-up to this letter, so it's impossible to say what happened next. One would assume a doctor would notice that kind of injury, provided she took him in for the appropriate post-op care.
I feel sick now. Beating a child with a heart condition and who is post-operative. I hope that horrid woman realises that if her son is injured (or worse) as the result of one of his beatings, Jesus and the Pearls won't save her.
These people are sick fucks.
