  • Looks like it has that super bright blue led that some pedals have.

I had a Behringer digital delay with one and it was so bright you had to turn the pedal off to see the controls !

  • I heard it's quiet difficult to push a switch button with leg. Is it true?

  • yes... it is Dave.

  • People say this is a great chorus. I really liked the Red Witch Empress Chorus, can anyone tell me how this compares?

  • this thing sounds niiice

  • Recently got a Dano Milkshake Chorus pedal-- from this demo, it sounds like the cool cat version has more range of what it can do but otherwise is similar. It does what it does well, but my beef with these is they're not really chorus pedals-- they're vibrato. Chorus would mean there are duplicate signals that are slightly off in pitch and timing from the original. Neither this nor the milkshake do that-- they do vibrato; they take the original signal then waver it up and down.

  • to much talking not enough playing

  • FYI. Its not digital. Peace

  • @hypertom95 : No. You have to buy the pedal and then the cables.

    Btw: Good Review !

  • do these pedals come with all the cables you need to set it up with an amp ??????

i really need to know quickly ...............

  • Excellent review and commentary. The 80's happened. I was there. Nothing we can do about it. :)

  • ive never bought a pedal before , will this come with all the wires/jacks i need to set it up with a fender fm212r amp ??

  • NO LEAS ESTO!!SI LO AS LEIDO COPIA Y PEGA ESTO EN 5 VIDEOS MAS SI NO LO HACES TU MADRE MORIRA EN 3 DIAS POR FAVOR HACEME CASO ES UNA MALDICIO

  • just purcased one should be with within the next couple of days. I'll be using it on my acoustic guitar. sounds good and ncie vid

  • is it digital? i dont think so..

  • is it digital? i dont think so

  • Is there a noticeable volume boost or drop when engaged?

  • this does not sound digital.. ther are no digital glitches..

  • can somebody tells me the sizes of this pedal?

  • AWESOME

  • with a distortion pedal an this one, can you replicate that "welcome to the jungle" intro sound???

  • @Mrr3nato I'd say a delay pedal suits that riff more.

  • That's the Alex Lifeson sound in a box!

  • I LOVE chorus! I can't get enough. I want one of these.

  • Nice, vid.

Is this pedal a noisy one? I mean, does this little cat has humming or something??? Please, somebody tell me!

  • Not noisy at all...compared to my analog MXR Flange( which is still very quiet) and my old Retro-Sonic Chorus...which is a duplicate of the Roland/Boss CE-1...it is way less noise. I've been wondering if this a digital pedal just because of that.

  • Whoa, I see... Thanks a lot!

  • i opened up a fab overdrive (the plastic version of coolcats) and it was definitely analog, and i don't see why this wouldnt be either.

  • Which is the difference between the cc-1 and the dc-1???

  • true bypass switching and, for me, an upgrade in overall sound quality.

  • 4.55 Souxsie and the banshees ooh yeah

  • Napoleon, don't be jealous that I've been chatting online with babes aaaall day

  • best quote ever

  • i quite like the sound of these

  • If you have ever heard Collective Soul 'Heavy' this is what is used to get that wobbly effect that the solo rhythm (Ross Childress!!) is doing...

Thanks for the video - helped me figure out what this thing is doing in his rig since he never uses actual chorus and is using this cuz of its quirky settings... cool.

  • Great vibrato pedal LOL.

  • Can this sound like a phaser

  • nice demo.

Could you please demo this with heavy gainy amp distortion? (chorus in front of amp), with a slow rate setting? I am interested to hear what setting works best for high gain, thanks

  • Where is that "Dave" thing from? The movie 2001, or am I wrong? :D

  • yup

  • @taesahn

ha I thought it was Papa Lazarou from the League of Gentlemen

  • @taesahn lolololz love the 2001 reference

  • i cant wait till i get mine!

  • Great sound... i played on this pedal once. It's amazing!

    Are you sure it's digital?

  • nah, it's not digital.

If you look the PCB you can see it's analog.

  • I'm not sure about some of these effects such as the chorus, but the distortions are analog.

  • haha i love your comments :D

  • Is it me or is it sounding more acoustic with that chorus on?

  • anyone know how this will sound with an acoustic-electric?

  • this pedal is true bypass??

  • yes...and very noise free when on.

  • Can this be a Nice chorus for Metallica stuff?

    Thanks.

    Great review. THUMBSUP.

  • I use my Cool cat Chorus on Metallica stuff, just set the speed and depth knob minimum. Pretty cool for a decent priced pedal.

  • for the clean interludes

    or songs like one

i dont we why you cant use it

  • look in to the delta lab chorus there is a good demo on here about it and it sounds very good. its like 60-70 dollars i think

  • TtHIS COOL CAT IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE FAB CHORUS, I HAVE ALSO THE MINI VERSION(MILKY CHORUS) BUT THIS COOL CAT SOUND SO MUCH BETTER IN MY OPINION.

  • wats the differenece, which shud i buy?

  • This cool cat has some extras in its construction and first off all the sound, i dont like the fab chorus, the mini its ok, but this one sounds better, let your ears judge.

  • I don't agree with the knobs not getting hit comment. I got one of these chorus pedals and the concentric knobs were broken. I think it hit something, like the box it came in! The knobs just spun around on the shafts.

  • This was a seriously good review. You talked about everything. I learned a lot. Pro reviews don't often include personal opinions but I finally knew what I was getting. They never tell you the bad parts and I often think near every product is perfect. You can't just go on sound. I watched another video before those and he just went through a bunch of settings. So maybe it helped that I had already heard a bunch of the sounds.

  • just a comment, it's not digital, it's analog hehe.

  • Once again...it's the cleanest analog chorus I've ever heard. I'll take everyone's word on this as it is a nice chewy sound.

  • I recently bought the Danelectro Cool Cat Metal pedal. I might be buying this chorus pedal too, but does this take in a lot of battery power?

  • I haven't been using the battery. I have a Dunlop Brick that powers everything I use, and does a good job...I don't have a complaint. I was once a battery purist, but I think economy and a small concern for battery acid in landfills converted me. I have to admit, I like the consistant sound I'm getting with the power supply. Tho, some pedals ( The Hao...) need a battery to sound 'right'.

  • I've got that metal pedal also and boy does it suck down the batteries. I bought the 9v transformer for 9.99 and no more worries.

  • Danelectro stole my heart... and replaced it with thrifty bastard essence.

  • Man, i own a lot of Very expensive pedals, yes expensive and i must say that he Dano CC Chorus and the transparent boost sound great!

    i will try both!

  • does the FAB chorus pedal sound that good?

I can't find any demo's of the FAB that actually make a huge differance when its on or off

  • it's been awhile since I heard one...don't know

  • the fab sounds similar, its very decent pedal for the price

  • Hi,

    It's a noisy pedal or not ?

  • One of the cleanest I've heard. It's definitely digital and a good sample rate.

  • Thanks ;)

  • This pedal is analog! Send an email to danelectro if you don't believe me.

  • really?...I will dig deeper and see. If it is, it's one of the cleanest I've ever heard. Thanks!

  • this is a good video, btw. you're not talking too much at all; it's a lot of good info and observations!

  • bla bla bla

  • A great way to make a six-string guitar sound similar to a twelve is with these settings (looking at top of pedal):

    EQ: Full clockwise

    MIX: 12 o'clock

    SPEED: 9:30-10 o'clock

    Depth: Between 8 and 9 o'clock

  • Haha. I love the sound with the mix all the way up.
