Nice video! If you like this and you're interested in harmonic and cosmic frequencies and their relationship to visual patterns you should check out my video and the Mystic Compass iPhone app. Let's you explore these things on your own.
A soundtrack - musical accompaniment can be a wonderful, marvelous and even a graceful thing...
Not here though.
If there's anything more intensely OBNOXIOUS and AGGRAVATING than the goddamned BEAT-OFF, I have yet to hear it.
Might as well be forced to look permanently at wall paper patterns as a form of torture.
And don't give me any crap about taste. I'm talking about the UTTER LACK of musical taste, not where shit sits on a spectrum of quality. There isn't any quality involved.
@smartingamerica I make these videos without any sound at all in mind. Apophysis makes fractals, not music. but Iif you're willing to step up to the plate and compose a musical number for my fractal videos, I'm all ears. ;)
@sockcutter Hey man, trance is cool. But check out my videos. I remembered that I saw this a while ago and not only did it motivate me to make fractals, it played a part in the music I have made.
Perhaps in the future one of my tracks could play behind your video ;)
@smartingamerica Just as addendum to my last post, the music is provided by Youtubes audio replacement thingamabob. I won't use any commercial works because of copyright reasons and I typically use the audio that best suits the length of the video. I could always leave them without any sound whatsoever though.
@sockcutter - Considering that my innocent but evidently volatile comment has unleashed so many complaints, I will offer you a piece of my own free of charge for use on this one particular instance, as long as you supply due credit. And if it meets with any popularity, you have only to ask for more from yours truly at a nominal rate. But you must first give me a way to contact you privately. I've tried over the last month at your Deviant site, but could not find a way.
@smartingamerica oh well, who cares. I think sockcutter did a great job. It looks hard. All we have to do is mute it and play our own music while we watch. I think I could picture you playing..let me see now...hhhmmmmm,,,,any suggestions out there? The sun will come out tomorrow, From ANNIE? lol! just messin'!
@beeleemurray "just messin'!" - uh, no, I wouldn’t ever think even you seriously ventured that horror from 'Annie'. If you did you might as well have suggested something arguably even worse (if possible) like 'It's a Small World After All' and given us all even further reason to despise unsolicited earworms. WAIT before you reply...there's more, okay?
@beeleemurray - Perhaps giving us earworms is your particular gift. ;) However, I do happen to be an artist and composer, & am also fluent in fractal imagery – decades before programs made it easy for us to “compose” them with ease without any definitive story-like pattern or much of any other discernable direction. I know what I’m talking about.
@beeleemurray – If this is so all-fired “Hard” I have to wonder how incrementally harder it could possibly have been to ensure the visuals one has toiled over is properly set to a soundtrack accompaniment that positively matches the visuals and DOESN’T set one’s teeth on edge. There is no such thing as an absence of choice. And sockcutter know that better than you do.
@beeleemurray – Even you suggest that a viewer can listen to anything (s)he likes while observing the visuals. Just what does that say about the responsibility of the artist to supply a full experience that doesn’t drive potential viewers away? That it’s ok that an otherwise wonderful piece of work is made unwatchable by an incredibly hideous soundtrack?
@beeleemurray – If you had bothered to read and comprehend the reply from sodcutter, you will have noticed that (s)he had most graciously accepted my criticism as reasonable (unlike you) and even sought to solicit an alternative soundtrack or something of my own.
@beeleemurray – Never EVER dis criticism from an otherwise admiring poster, ESPECIALLY when they bother to offer it. You may seriously underestimate their taste and wherewithal, and discover that your own is seriously suspect by comparison. Excessive youth or inexperience certainly can’t be held against you, of course, but if you can't take Friendly Advice, you have a bigger problem than anyone here can help you with, besides the advice to GROW UP.
@smartingamerica You raised some good points. If sockcutter went to the trouble to create his work of art couldn't he have troubled himself to find the perfect music to showcase it? But, I can't talk, it would take me a long time to reach his level, I'm sure. Oh yeah, you definitely one-upped me with your choice of "It's a Small World".
Land back in the 70's and trying desperately to get out of that horrifying ride or whatever you want to call it. I thought "Tomorrow" was pretty annoying but, yes, "Small World" tops it!
@smartingamerica lol u mad bro? y'know, there's this thing called mute, it's a really cool piece of technology, i think they have it on both your speakers and the video itself, so it's really easy to use! oh, and if you mute just the video, you can easily turn on music of your own, isn't that cool?! isn't learning things fun?! :D
This is a VERY GOOD animation!!! will the script you mentioned work with APO 7x I LOVE Ultra Fractal... And I love to create with it... But I also love the free flowing flames that you can create with Aposphysis. I have ALOT of flames I have created with AP 7x ... just need a way to morph and animate them
Sockcutter, thanks for all the information regarding files and flames used in making this ecstatic animation I really appreciate it! I just downloaded the Boarders.dill and the flames zip. It would be extremely hard to learn apop., without you and others who share scripts, files, and sometimes step by step tutorials. again thanks so much! tunebliss
It's almost like you'd want this to be a visualization for something more meaningful like an atom or some quantum structure with a complex magnetic field... ...but nope! It's just a fractal! (And with complimentary cool sounding techno music too.)
Yeah it's a pretty deep piece of software; I find something new every time I use it.
Just a follow up to my previous post, I located a plugin pack which includes the "boarders.dll" plugin necessary to view the flames I previously linked to: h t t p://sourceforge . net /projects/apo-plugins/
I'm really puzzled as to how you got the hoops reaching out and back like you have them. I've made tens of thousands of Apop fractals, and have never run into anything like this. Cool effect.
I guess the easiest way is to show you. I previously uploaded a flame pack of all the frames used in the video on my deviant art page.

Absolutely! Apophysis renders single frames (pictures) which you could certainly use for a wallpaper if you wanted to. You should download a copy (it's free) and play around with it. It's surprisingly easy to accidentally make something that looks awesome =P
I loved the music and the video <3 thank you for sharing this beautiful art.
