I understand your skepticism, I can also read between the lines that Emanuel's asking for more firmness in the Israel-Palestinian conflict, but keep in mind that Obama's still the boss of Emanuel, i.e. Obama is erudite enough to understand that altho Palestine doesn't contribute to US's GDP, a REAL peace between the 2 is essential for US' long-term economic interests. Most important, unlike Bush, he's open to input from academic experts on the region's culture, economics, & politics
