I have never been to jail but if you post bail all cash without using a bail bond they give you all your bail back once the trial is over right?

I heard that our neighbor used a 2nd mortgage to pay their sons jail. That house got foreclosed a year ago. THe son didn't run off I don't think though because he was living in the house after they left I believe until it officially foreclosed.
