OMG THIS HAPPENED TO ME!!! Exept we did not have to evacuate, but the lights turned on and stuff. We waited for about 10 minutes until the ride just started to continue and the lights went off again
Dinosaur is awesome to be evacuated from! We broke down beside the dino that runs at you from the trees and it went dark but you could still hear the roars - was pretty scary! Its awesome seeing the full dinos as you go past cause they didn't just make the parts you see, they made the full dinos! Walking past full sized carnotaurs was awesome and terrifying at the same time.
I only wished it had broken down earlier so we could have seen more of the ride in that state.
i was there less than a month before that and it broke down for 5 minutes and after i got off they closed it down for most of the day.....i see you guys got the worst of it a couple weeks later

So, when a ride confronts problems, Disney cast members are supposed to guide the park visitors in a safety matter. But, why in the darkness? I mean Disney, are you afraid to show what the attraction is made off? The way the evacuation happened was made with the intention not to show how the vehicles are supposed to work. Bad and epic fail on Disney's part!
@caa1000 Actually, the ride is quite lit up when they lights are on, as they were in this instance. But with all the scenery around it's a bit difficult to make it very bright. When seen through a camera however, it doesn't appear that bright. I used to work there and can vouch for it being more then bright enough for you to see everything. Only the areas behind the bushes/scenery is darker because there's really no need to light that area because no guest goes there.
Rest assure no ride will ever start back up if you are currently being evacuated, there are precautions taken to make sure that can't happen.
I miss getting to do ride evacs. They were fun and gave guests a great experience, except for issues like this one where there's hydrollic fluid everywhere. Those are a bit stressful for the cast because they have to keep you safe and move quickly.
As for the cast members performing the evacuation, they are actually doing a really good job! The woman, though she sounds mean is actually a very sweet woman. There are just some situations, like this one, that require the cast to be a bit more stern. The center of the track often has oil/hydrolic fluid on it from the cars, making the track slippery. By telling everyone to walk to the extreme side of the track she's doing what she's suppose to do and keeping everyone a safe.
I worked there for a few years. I completely agree that it is to loud. We made a lot of complaints, including letting them know that it was the main complaint by guests. Unfortunately, turning down the volume isn't as easy as you think so it's an issue that was put aside for more important things. The jerkiness however, is not unusual, it's programed like that. It doesn't cause any ride stops so no need to worry about it.
It has happened to me i think the hydrolics broke. They stopped at the triceritops and then a few minutes later tried it again and around the corner before we saw the big dinosaur stopped again. That was weird what the dinosaurs looked like. They had to take us back around where we came out
Aw, you got lucky. We just got back from a trip, and when Dinosaur stopped, me and my brother were stuck in that one really dark bit before the big guy at the end. They didn't evacuate us, and the ride kept going, but right before it happened I said to my brother, "It would be nifty if they could stop the ride and let me look around here!"
when something in the ride breaks, the ride computer will automactically shut down as a safety precaution. if the ride has an issue that can't be fixed quickly then there is no reason for the riders to remain on the ride just sitting there. since the ride is still in an emergency stop mode, the cars can't be brought back to the station to let riders out so they are escorted to the nearest exit to where they got stuck.
My aunt works at Disney for the Amateur Athletic Union on the Hotel Blvd. I believe. This doesn't seem like all the scenery it shows in the ride. Haha. The same thing happened to me on Rockin Roller Coaster last year, we evacuated and we got the first brake systems and didn't to follow through with the corkscrew. But ya great video.
Wow! =] I didn't even know I had an accent. Thank you though! lol. And Thank you for saying I was brave to film it. I thought it would be rather interesting for everyone to see one of the scarier rides as a walk-through, and not a jerk-through so to speak. lol.
BTW, My dad works in Marketing, so we go to Disney rather often. I've been on this a few times afterward with no problem. I suppose that an evacuation is rare. But I have full respect for all the cast members, especially my daddy. ;)
I can handle The Tower of Terror and Rock N rollercoaster and fast rides like that, but this scared the crap out of me, It was soo loud and I was really close to the big huge dinosaur at the end! IT WAS HORRIFYING!!
me too!!! im am sooo scared of this type of stuff.and my brother new that so everytime we would ride he would make me go on the side with the huge dino.me and all these little kids were screaming..AND SO WAS I!
Lol this happened to me me too! Though we were only stuck for about 2 minutes before it started going again. Scared the shit out of me because we were at the very end of the ride with the T-rex right in front of our face!
you're very brave. I wouldn't have taped it just so the girl wouldn't be able to move her trap. I wonder what happened. It's one of my favorite rides, so I really hope this happens!!!!
Ya guys, um i work there right now so um i know the people that evacuated you...you are lucky that they are the ones who were working that day because they are really awesome and im sorry that you think that Melinda is a bitch but that is her normal voice and she really is nice and she was just making sure you all got out safely. Ive worked at dinosaur since June so....no more messing with us lol jk
im not going to lie. i worked at disney world for 4 months.and it was always my dream to break down on dinosaur while riding it and evac. it congrats on getting to live my dream.lol
Are you talking about the CM? She has to direct the people, if someone gets hurt it will be her fault so she must keep everyone together. It's her job, people employed by Disney have strict directions when it comes to things like this. If your talking about the other girl, however, heh, I agree (ok, I'm babbling now)
That depends on your preference of rides. If you like the bigger rides like roller coasters, then I agree Universal is better for that. But Disney is a park for kids and adults, so they have to provide for each.
Ugh I know. They really should try to fix it up a little. It's supposed to be jerky, but if its to the point that its breaking down, they should do something about it. Especially seeing as its Disney World.
Ride Breakdowns are usually caused by guest interference, or a power glitch. The jerkiness of the vehicle itself would not affect the ride efficiency. It's always amazing to get escorted out of a ride though. Last year I was escorted out of buzz light year over at Disneyland. Nice vid.
Why couldnt this happen to me lol I like the ride and the theme behind it but its just so damm loud its unbelieveable especially with the t-rex thing.
Dr.Marsh ruined the ride.
