I had the same problem, But I think I might have figured out a solution... Make sure the objects you select don't have keyframes and make sure you don't have the settings on record. Other wise it will create another keyframe and will be a big pain. Hope thats helpful
when are you going to make the tutorial on coding your character. remember character modeling 1-2 i made a character and i dont know how to set him up
you dont have to do all that coding, all you need is 1 senser, controller and an actuator both of them. select your key and your door, add a collision senser for both of them, add a controller for both of them, then add an (edit object) actuator for the key, and set it to end object. add an (IPO) actuator on your door, then cennect them up. once you do that conect your key's senser to the doors controller.then it should work
it took two hours two figure this out and didnt work, BUT the only mistake (idoit of me) the player material was spelled wrong lol!! aw man i was so mad at u but it was all me.. THANK YOU!!!! though
yea it's a bit of a mystery the game engine... i wasn't even going to bother with a tutorials on it because it's mostly just useful for basic stuff... but the lattest update to blender really streched the capabilitys of the engine so i'm really into it now trying to figure out what awsome stuff to show next.
cheers ninja hope as they get more advanced you can learn more... i may have to split some of the next ones into a few parts so that i can do more advanced stuff
hey
for coins how do you make it take it away from the player when u like press enter or whatever near a person.

I can't open the door, that tutorial is too mixed up.

I have to agree, this method IS pretty complex, especially if you have other stuff going on in the logic panel. Is there a simpler way to do this?
