i really hate people that as soon as they hear any of the following words; "cusomize, desktop, visual effects, 3d cube, alternative os" the first thing that is blabbed out of there mouth is linux.

ive personally used linux, beryl, ubuntu, and so many different versions of the, osx, leopard, xp, vista and windows 7 beta, and personally, although linux is a GREAT concept, its just not the best

all it needs is to become more main stream.

but the one thing about linux that kills the other OS's is the fact that it has the most cusomizable GUI than any other OS.sure its not the best and most user friendly, but they are getting there!and while windows can still be copied people will choose that over the free OS.Once M$ work out how to stop people making copies of their software then you might find the cheap people will go linux

XPise is the program I use to get new themes. It's completely free and comes with a new boot-up screen, login screen and theme but it also lets you install other .msstyles type files. unlike styleXP though, it doesn't let you install a new boot-up or login screens

if you use nlite to customize you xp instalation you can both intergrate theams and unlock 3td party theams with out the need of software like style-xp or windows blinds.

Vista Transformation Pack 6.0. It makes XP look like Vista. And if you throw in Top Desk that puts in the Flip 3D. One time my friend saw my desktop he thought I had the actual Vista.

i use the AlienGUIse software, free on the Alienware site which comes with 4 or 5 really cool themes, each with it's own skin for windows media player too (if your inclined to use that horrible player). and i thoroughly recommend it, it's very nice and free, the lack of skins is a bit of an issue, but then again you get what you pay for ^_^

yeah the audio on most of his videos are bad. he really should invest in a good quality microphone. but i dont understand why the quality is so bad in the first place. any bog standard mic will give u far better quality than them. even those ones so cheap u could find them in the bottom of a cerial box

I just use a hacked version of uxtheme.dll so that I can use any msstyle file I want. You can also easily make your own custom themes by using Resource Hacker to modify msstyle files.

Stardock 100% never had any problems with any of there programs. Also "BootSkin" is a nice program, i downloaded the "Blue screen of death" theme, and the look on people faces when turning on my notebook is all ways fun.
