I went out to visit my friends out who live out in the California desert.
We went out racing through the lonely desert roads, going 95 at the slowest. I was in Camaro going 105 while listening to this song high on acid. I'll never forget. Especially when we played Queens Of The Stone Age.
@chaosgammaray18 If I had a nickel for every time I've played this song on my guitar and someone said 'Hey are you playing footloose?' it still wouldn't stop me from wanting to brain them with my guitar.
I will be 55 this year, live in France and am from NE Ohio, USA. When I play my 45 or album version on vinyl for this for people they kind of really don't get it, so I don't torture them. I find this to be totally wonderful. It's not even quite my thing, whatever my thing might be. This group was absolutely fantastic. Even as a teen I got joked at for liking this. What is wrong with people? This is just perfect. Uprated.
When it comes to guitar playing the only 2 I can think of to define the instrument for an era is Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Joe Walsh is fuckin good though. Probably one of the most under-rated. Cat laid down some back licks.
Wow...I love this song... one of the greatest guitar riffs in rock history, but you cannot even compare(well maybe YOU might) Joe's guitar playing to ANY of the great british guitarists--Beck, Page, Clapton, Iommi, and their body of work....Joe just happened to come up with a great riff and a great song and I love him for it. NOW, if ya wanna talk about the great guitarists from the 80's and 90's, Americans have dominated for the most part...today brits like Govan and James are unreal.
Who here would LOVE to see Cowbell Legend Gene Frankel "exploring the space" around the 1:30 mark? Wish somebody could insert him. It'd be better than the seizure-inducing opening.
@theDeckisStacked oh you mean bands that can't sustain a career like Aerosmith? Beatles died with lennon, Stones are still around thanks to embalming fluid, and Zep was gone when bonham died. Now if you want to tout talent that has been here since dirt just look for Ozzie. :) I still love all the bands mentioned.
@theDeckisStacked Jimmy Page is a so-so guitar player yet his strength lies in his extra-ordinary songwriting talent/skills. Joe Walsh is a so-so guitar player and so-so writer. Both entertaining and great in concert. :)
@theDeckisStacked Did you know Bob Heil was his sound engineer and he is a amateur radio operator? his call is wb6acu !!! There web site is HAM NATION 1:Joe Walsh WB6ACU
I owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Walsh for producing Dan Fogelberg's second album, and making Dan a success! Joe Walsh was always add to and improve the music! BobbyK
@theDeckisStacked Dont get me wrong I love this song and im American but no American band I have ever heard is better than any british band. Who are you going to compare the Eagles to whom the Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd.
@theDeckisStacked British seem to sound better when Group members go Solo. Jeff Beck,Rod Stewart,The former Beatles Members, and other put out stuff that personally sound better when they go Solo from their Original Groups.
@BBQFanNo1 Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart were really underground until they went solo. The memebers of the Beatles rod huge fane bases to solo careers. Look at Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones.
@eddiemurphyfan100 I was fuckin here with this song decades before Test Drive. No fuckin commercial Fad crap needs to bring me interested in any song.

@JustAGuitarCover Dubstep (/ˈdʌbstɛp/) is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in south London, England. Its overall sound has been described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals". You mad bro?

It's pretty amazing... I listened to this song so much when I was a kid on crappy analog equipment, that this is so compressed as to be almost unlistenable... I am pretty shocked actually.
This song is timeless. Great pieces of music always are. They move the soul of a person.Hate some of the new bands, especially all that techno stuff and voice overs.
