  • Thanks Libertine2 for posting this hard rocking classic and great visuals.

  • I went out to visit my friends out who live out in the California desert.

We went out racing through the lonely desert roads, going 95 at the slowest. I was in Camaro going 105 while listening to this song high on acid. I'll never forget. Especially when we played Queens Of The Stone Age.

  • Great song by an ultra cool band!!!! (I always thought he was kinda cute too!!!)

  • Joe Walsh has so much talent that he can drive 185 in his Maserati and I'd let him go.

Look at his career!!! James Gang, Eagles, and solo!

  • Buy this song?!?? I bought in 1970 when it first hit the scene. Still one of the best songs of rock!

  • I love playing this stuff fun fufnfun…...

  • Am i the only one hearing the guitar melody? Sounds like "footloose"

  • @chaosgammaray18 Check yourself! Footloose may sound like Funk #49, but Funk #49 does NOT sound like Footloose. :-/

  • @OlderThanSand Ah yeah i saw what i did x.x thought i worded it right

  • @chaosgammaray18 If I had a nickel for every time I've played this song on my guitar and someone said 'Hey are you playing footloose?' it still wouldn't stop me from wanting to brain them with my guitar.

  • @chaosgammaray18 I said that ten years ago...it sounds exactly like it...thanks for the confirmation..!

  • 68 people weren't there.

  • Test Drive Unlimited :)

  • I will be 55 this year, live in France and am from NE Ohio, USA. When I play my 45 or album version on vinyl for this for people they kind of really don't get it, so I don't torture them. I find this to be totally wonderful. It's not even quite my thing, whatever my thing might be. This group was absolutely fantastic. Even as a teen I got joked at for liking this. What is wrong with people? This is just perfect. Uprated.

  • Iam agreed James Gang Rides Again best album in the period was released.peace

  • Hell Yeah! Sounds great!

  • Takes me back to my younger days when I would yell "Joe Walsh for President" at Eagle's concerts

  • The entire album, James Gang Rides Again, is one of the best albums of the period it was released. Joe Walsh at his best!

  • I'm a Jeff Beck man but Joe Walsh has laid down some guitar riffs that no one else can touch.

  • @redhead5150 Indeed. Not even CLOSE to Jeff Beck, but there IS honor in the 2nd tier.

  • We played this song, funk #49, barry salmon (drummer) had a hard time with this song, but he got it and we KICKED ASS!!!!

  • 2:18 joooong ka chunk chunk chunk... BAD ASS!

  • i dont understand what people are saying about joe's status as a guitarist... HE's JOE MOTHERFUCKIN WALSH...

  • The first 5-seconds of this video is like F-F-F-F-F-C-UCK-YEEEEEAAAAH!

  • When it comes to guitar playing the only 2 I can think of to define the instrument for an era is Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan. Joe Walsh is fuckin good though. Probably one of the most under-rated. Cat laid down some back licks.

  • theDeckisStacked eric clapton is still playing and so is Paul mccartney

  • I would choose Joe in any guitar jam to just totally amaze!!

  • Wow...I love this song... one of the greatest guitar riffs in rock history, but you cannot even compare(well maybe YOU might) Joe's guitar playing to ANY of the great british guitarists--Beck, Page, Clapton, Iommi, and their body of work....Joe just happened to come up with a great riff and a great song and I love him for it. NOW, if ya wanna talk about the great guitarists from the 80's and 90's, Americans have dominated for the most part...today brits like Govan and James are unreal.

  • Who here would LOVE to see Cowbell Legend Gene Frankel "exploring the space" around the 1:30 mark? Wish somebody could insert him. It'd be better than the seizure-inducing opening.

  • @theDeckisStacked jimi hendrix and stevie ray vaughan can kick ass all day, and joe walsh too (too bad he's really underrated)

  • i think im having a seizureeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • @theDeckisStacked oh you mean bands that can't sustain a career like Aerosmith? Beatles died with lennon, Stones are still around thanks to embalming fluid, and Zep was gone when bonham died. Now if you want to tout talent that has been here since dirt just look for Ozzie. :) I still love all the bands mentioned.

  • @theDeckisStacked Jimmy Page is a so-so guitar player yet his strength lies in his extra-ordinary songwriting talent/skills. Joe Walsh is a so-so guitar player and so-so writer. Both entertaining and great in concert. :)

  • can someone give me a link to the pic at :25? i can't find it anywhere...

  • THERE SHOULD BE NNNOOOOOO VOLUME LIMIT FOR THIS SONG!!!!!

  • @teawithsu Made loud to be played loud.

  • @theDeckisStacked Did you know Bob Heil was his sound engineer and he is a amateur radio operator? his call is wb6acu !!! There web site is HAM NATION 1:Joe Walsh WB6ACU

  • I only knows this song from GTA the lost and damned.

  • Bass line!!!!

  • @theDeckisStacked ever hear of zz top?

  • I owe a debt of gratitude to Mr. Walsh for producing Dan Fogelberg's second album, and making Dan a success! Joe Walsh was always add to and improve the music! BobbyK

  • @theDeckisStacked Thats an old blues song. Not southern rock.

  • @theDeckisStacked Dont get me wrong I love this song and im American but no American band I have ever heard is better than any british band. Who are you going to compare the Eagles to whom the Beatles, Stones, Pink Floyd.

  • @InlineFury1 This is probably due to the fact that when these britihs bands were formed, all our boys were in vietnam fighting cong

  • first heard his in the Detroit rock city movie

  • Slap bass on whole song <3

  • I used to think this was Joe Walsh

  • Comment removed

  • The quality of this song IS AMAZING.

  • nothin like them cow bells

  • @001THEMADMIKE Tonk, Tonk, Tonk!! I love them too bro!

  • I'ts showing!

  • thanks chris , brings back memories

  • niiiiiiice

  • Joe Walsh could rock like a hurricane but man he is one ugly motherfucker!

  • who's here because of liberty rock radio on gta 4?

  • LOL, no, I didn't forget! Too many to list. (:

  • When the Old Generation of the Family was listening to Christmas music by Bing Crosby in December 1970. I was listening to songs like this song.

  • I love the Midwest U.S. Group Sound from the 1960s and 1970s from Groups in Michigan,Ohio,Missouri, and Texas.

  • Comment removed

  • @theDeckisStacked British seem to sound better when Group members go Solo. Jeff Beck,Rod Stewart,The former Beatles Members, and other put out stuff that personally sound better when they go Solo from their Original Groups.

  • @BBQFanNo1 Jeff Beck and Rod Stewart were really underground until they went solo. The memebers of the Beatles rod huge fane bases to solo careers. Look at Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones.

  • thumbs up if Test Drive Unlimited brought you here

  • @eddiemurphyfan100 Music should bring you here. Not some lame ass game or movie

  • @eddiemurphyfan100 I was fuckin here with this song decades before Test Drive. No fuckin commercial Fad crap needs to bring me interested in any song.

  • Joe Walsh Rocks.

  • Joe Walsh Rocks.

  • Thanks. This still Rocks.

  • Have this 1971 album and CD,Luv joe's work!

  • 1971-72(memory is a bit foggy from then)just back from the Nam and went to the local county park with friends for a open air concert of TJG, not a clue as to who they were but they kicked ass.

  • I'm having a 'flashback'

  • yep

  • Joe Walsh, Grand Funk, BTO, Guess Who, Edgar Winter, Blue Oyster C,, Black Foot, Molly Hatchet, Jethro Tull, all on the side bar. WOW! ROCK & ROLL Doesn't get much better than that!!!!!! Maybe throwing in a few more names is about it.

  • @my1biz11 Dont forget the Ozark Mountain Daredevils.

  • Joe Walsh always writes the coolest tunes. I can get a taste of how the 70's were just buy his songs (:

  • @theDeckisStacked Joe Walsh definitely still has a career, lol.

  • I think i win that war

  • Joe Walsh for President...

  • Spokane Rock

  • @theDeckisStacked not Slash, he is the best guitarist ever. Period.

  • I used to like the song, but it got repetitive.

  • @Flaknar i do actually like skrillex though

  • @Flaknar gtfo, and by that i mean off this planet

  • @JustAGuitarCover And by that you mean.... *rolls J* go to mars duddddeeeee while kickin it to Skrillex?

  • @Flaknar Skrillex is not music. it is dubstep, that is not a type of music.

  • @JustAGuitarCover Dubstep (/ˈdʌbstɛp/) is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in south London, England. Its overall sound has been described as "tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals". You mad bro?

  • a song that launched thousand beer commercials

  • Bought the album new when it came out still rocks

  • lok him up on wiki, a PHENOMENAL READ

  • I hit the "couldn't care less" button by mistake.

  • Absolutly, Joe Walsh

Sorry about misspelling, too agitated. I know for a fact tht is Joe Walsh . this is for tlynch 51.

  • @kellyM4760 You misspelled it again XD

  • Absolutly, Joe Walsh

  • Brent Saunders of KBCO Boulder Co. / may think he's all that...but he really is just a radio.."poser".....?

  • Joe Walsh, Dale Peters(bass) and Jim Fox, one the greatest rock kit drummers of all-time...all three come up huge on this tune...the very definition of POWER TRIO !

  • Great... what is there really to say its the james gang..

  • Great Classic tune, ( Thumbs Up )

  • Dogtown for life

  • Rides Again - another timeless album like the Who's Live at Leeds and so many others.

as listonable today as they day it came out.

  • Entourage season 1 finale anyone? Cant believe i never knew the name of this classic riff...guess it's because im not much of an eagles fan, but this is raw rock n rolll

  • hey what's that at the beginning? never get tired of this

  • I always have an orgasm at the first 5 seconds

  • Gotta crank it up for this one !!!

  • Thank 's !

Do you know what 's the year of this song ?

  • ''HEY DORK!"'. :D

  • The Gangs second album was all killa', no filla'. Walsh himself is recorded as saying he felt he had peaked in his artistic ability on this slab'. I'd stack it right on up there with the likes Floyd's, DARK SIDE, Hall n' Oats, BIG BAM BOOM or Purp's, IN ROCK.

  • the begining of this song gives me the chillZZZZZZZZZ :)

  • This video has been chosen for October 13, 2011 post on Facebook page: Random Daily Classic Rock Song

  • jij moet naar de doktor je benen zijn veels te dun!!

  • Stereophonic!!!!!

  • Awesome guitar riffs. Walsh is a monster.

  • .....close to J.Beck, top this all you would be guitarists!!!.........it's the syzygy!

  • It's pretty amazing... I listened to this song so much when I was a kid on crappy analog equipment, that this is so compressed as to be almost unlistenable... I am pretty shocked actually.

  • This song is timeless. Great pieces of music always are. They move the soul of a person.Hate some of the new bands, especially all that techno stuff and voice overs.

Will always cherish these great bands that played some of the most wonderful music of their time.

  • Remember The James Gang playing Beatles covers at Chesterland Hullabaloo just after high school. He'd break out this and some other originals and those of us there knew Joe Walsh would stay local for long.

    .

  • many memories!!!!! This song was HUGE!! James Gang was great...:)

  • Am I wrong but was "But I Try" with Little Richard, originally scheduled for this album?

    Thanks.

  • Good song...but I think I had a seizure at the beginning...

  • Love this evergreen. And I'm 52.

  • @cherubim59

Hey, youngster! His greatest song, I believe. Your mind can track it because it's ordered yet interesting. Lots of bass puts folks in a good mind. Just love his guitar and the whole damned band! Joe is a cool guy. This music must be fun to play too! I speak as a failed musician... Lamar (65)

  • @emeraldfrog1 Fayled Failed Schmayled! I'm 61 now.Played since I was 9.Never Published,seldom recorded'occasionally laughed at,ridiculed,and dismissed,but,some listened,one even cried,and there was even approval,and applause.None of this counts for anything considering what "I" got out of it.My guitar was My Friend for 52 years.Still is.jw

  • gfd

  • @jjdean57 My interest is at its highest point (well, considering). I was looking for Dominic Troiano clips, then Joe Walsh. Ok, so you were never published (at least you made someone cry, I hope because your playing moved them). If none of your material made it, ok then, I am not pleased to hear that. But... I would like to hear some of it! Where is it?? What styles do you play? Hey, you know Joe Walsh. Dan

  • Used to listen to this stuff, cranked all the way up, at my best friend's neighbor's house. State-of-the-art Harmon Kardon stereo. HIS neighbors loved us, no doubt... but we NEVER inhaled! This song has one of the most kick-ass bass lines of all time... great memories; thanks!

  • hahaha..i had this album on 8-track and cassette...

  • Saw Jersey Joe at the county college of morris,Guitar was never better, and Joe was lit like a candle, So were we .Thanks Joe.

  • 60 people prefer "funk #69"

  • James Gang was the first concert I ever went to in the late 60's. Liked em then, like em now. They rocked this song live.

  • 2:11 trippy guitar solo

  • I thought this was a Led Zep song for the longest time. I am so embarrassed.

  • @wrecktem ...me too. agh.

  • @wrecktem Bless yer heart ... so did I. You're not alone in your embarrassment. ;o].
