  • I am intrigued by the logic, or, rather, logistics of human law,

and am amazed by the detail and subtlety of arguments that lawyers have to use.

However, I could never be a lawyer, because my interest is NOT in upholding current law, but in creating an entirely new set or system of laws. I guess one would call that politics.

  • Religionists have zero comprehension of the magnitude of influence.

Set, group, collection, organization, political party, government - these names make no difference to me. What matters is the magnitude of their power and whether that power is for net good or net bad. Religionists will call organized groups of people bad or good as it suits their ideological agenda, not based on observed and self-consistent fact.

Hence, to them, the IPCC and environmental groups and the OWS groups

  • @nahaymath are "evil" merely for being groups, and religionists call them "conspiracies" as a derogatory term, even though that term is neutral to me.

But, religionists are not mentally capable of comprehending their logical inconsistency by failing to label their churches as conspiracies.

  • Good video

  • @2011juantube Thank you. :-)

  • I am so happy I found your channel. I look forward to your news letter.

  • Great job, greetings from Italy

  • @xvegansxex Greetings. :-)

  • Ayanna,

When you launch your newsletter I would consider it an honor to be the very first subscriber.

  • @pensadorracional2 Thank you!!

  • Fuck Lowes! I hope they go out of business!

  • Super excellent video!

  • I don't understand the validity of the "state from the church" argument so many christian pastors and my own parents used when I was growing up. Were they implying that the state should have no authority to interfere with religion (and well, it shouldn't), but that if christians feel the need to interfere with government they should be able to whenever they want?

  • I appreciate every video you post. It is always nice to have a constant reminder that my brother and I are not alone as a black free thinker.

  • @E1985Man Thank you!!

  • Great work everybody!

  • great video

  • Ayanna, I don't think it's a good idea to start a membership/subscription; once you start doing that, BAA becomes a sect/religion. I will donate money to BAA whenever I can; and I will even attend some of your conferences, if I can. But I will not be a member (part of the "congregation"), 'cause to me, that's so similar to organised religions.

  • @disandthat Nonsense. There is no dogma or teachings that go along with joining the group. There are many atheist groups in America.

  • @CompleteRationality Ok. But atheists must have an idea/agenda, or else what would they hold meeting/conferences?See, me, I don't wanna tell religious people that there's no god. When I have kids, yes, I will tell them that. another name for getting together is congregating, which its etymological root means to gather, as in a church.

  • @disandthat That's not what the organization is. It's only promoting/encouraging skepticism, science, and critical thinking. Its a group, but it falls way short of religion.

  • @CompleteRationality ok, i'll see when i attend one.

  • @disandthat I appreciate your support.

I am a member of the NYS Bar Association. It is a requirement for me to practice law in the state of NY. There are biannual dues that we must pay to keep our license current.

I am also a member of several other organization, mostly professional. None come close to resembling a "congregation."

Do not let the religious convince you that they have a monopoly on membership and gatherings.

  • @BlackAtheistsAmerica This is what I mean: I don't care if other people are religious, and I won't try to prove to them the non-existence of god; there're so many of them in the world; it'd be a losing battle anyway. Most atheists that I've seen/viewed on YOUTUBE are kind of preachy, like, they're trying to convert (proselytize) those who're religious.

  • @BlackAtheistsAmerica Great comment!

  • All atheists say is there is no god. What is people upset about cos if you think there is then there is in your MIND

  • @brilliancerising

What issues do you think are unrelated to the religious right that were discussed in this video? And perhaps you should look over your reply because I don't see how her choice of t-shirt is relevant to the script she read.

  • @brilliancerising The shirt reads: "Slavery is Ok, Homosexuality not so much," with quoted bible verses.

So to answer your question: the word of god thinks it's ok.

    What arguments are illegitimate?

  • @brilliancerising If you are distracted by the Tshirt you must have the attention span of a severely ADDed amiba.

  • @brilliancerising that not the point. theist claim in the bible that slavery ,owing someone like an animal is ok , but loving someone that you have attraction to is a sin even if it is consenting adult,so ur full of religion.I can understand Why you wear looking at her shirt .she is a great bill board

  • Don't worry aahmovingon! We will be here 200 years from now! Energy never dies, so, you will simply live on... Good news, you can create a reality where you are already in the future, just stop living and believing in this one! Lest we forget, God and religion gives weak people power!

  • @desertasophy I think it was in the 1950s when there was the start on the backlash on separation on church and state. Prior to that there was always a struggle, but that was about the time that "in God We Trust" was added to money, etc. There was even a fight over the "no endorsement of religion" in the constitution originally. When a president is pressured to say "Merry Christmas" and "God Bless America" all the time, I don't think religion is far removed from our government.

  • God is fake so of course christians have to wage wars to get their way.

And you'd think god would be like"whats with all this war on my birthday?"

but then again its made up and the internet has helped expose the scam

they are desperate now they have had to change their "killing with kindness" techniques we all know and love......now its war to convince us grandma and grandpa are chilling in a mansion in the clouds.

  • @aahmovingon LOL. Yes, I agree to an extent. But I am glad to see a more vocal atheist community. We certainly have a long way to go.

  • how many members are in your organization?

  • @20jandrews We currently do not have membership. We will start next year when we launch our newsletter.

  • @aahmovingon I think we've made great progress over the past decade.

  • I posted this video on a science forum i am a member of to show some of the people who are unfamiliar with what is going on in the USA. Great video, please keep up the great work.

  • @Moontanman Thank you. :-)

  • Great piece. The "happy holidays" drama is lol.The English language needs to have it's own version of "mosiltof" or "felicidades". I guess that's what "cheers" is supposed to be, but no one uses it.

  • @Coquipirate Thank you. :-)

  • I meant the kid w/gun on billboard btw. they sure love to exploit the youth; hate that.

  • @6:39 really? that's just wrong-ass propaganda and should be shut down!

  • "foreign-based proxy social/digital feudalism" is what's going on.. been going on but nobody cares until it takes their rights away... anyhew; right on Ayanna!

  • @guitarzeroh Thanks. :-)

  • Xtians in the USA want all of us to be free to practice Christianity but don't dare think otherwise, it's not patriotic and should be treated as treason. Also, gov agencies should do likewise and other religions be damned. Add to that, if anyone doesn't like it when gov endorses Christian symbolism and you complain, it's taken as persecution. Christian Nation?? NO IT'S NOT. Wow, that is so fucked up. Whenever I hear 'God Bless America' or 'Under God' or 'In God We Trust', I worry for us.

  • @saxmanchiro Yes. Many christians do not even realize that they are against separation of church and state.

  • Good points. There is a problem however with your use of ordination in reference to the constitutionally "mandated" separation of church and state. The separation of church and state was not as Ms. Rose states..., "ordained". Words are importtant!

  • @thankthesnake I disagree. I think the word was appropriate. I've heard the word used a number of times in my profession.

    Thanks for watching. :-)

  • yes, Raina has lots of examples of how christians hijack everything, Raina is a great writer, i really enjoyed that.

  • @anavywife28 Thanks. I really like her work. :-)

  • Hello beautiful. Hope you are well.

Great video. Keep up the good fight.

  • @4me2cclearly Hey! How are you?

    Thanks you.

  • Imagine worshipping a Being who would send His own Son to be murdered; tortured and crudely nailed to some lumber. Supposedly, the Son is irreplaceable. We humans are replaceable. He already flooded the world once killing everyone and everything... Surely we are less than the Son.. Why would He sacrifice His Son for replaceable pathetic humans? If He would do that to His own Son, then what guarantee do we have that He wouldn't do the same to us in the future to serve some other purpose?

  • @2eelShmeal God is a horrible father. LOL.

  • A Christian definition of an attack on them:

    "I'm a Christian."

    "I'm not."

    "Why are you persecuting me????"

  • @Mousepie999 LOL. Exactly.

  • @Mousepie999 Exactly!

  • nice video =) thanks.

  • @johauHAU Thanks. :-)

  • Here, here Ayanna!!!!

  • Dope

  • Secularism is saving societies.

  • i was wondering are you aware of the new bill that has just passed called the FDAA or the Federal Defense Authorization Act S,1867? i think its a more important issue right now than the orchestrated divisionary tactics on these semi meaningless topics right now. every second wasted on these small issues is one second not spent on the real issues like This new law that passed and the subtle stripping of our civil liberties. Take care!

  • @JGvisions Obviously that bill is one to be concerned about. But just because that is something to be concerned about doesn't make this subject trivial.

  • Respectfully, it is actually trivial, or to be more fair less important (which does not make it a non important issue, just less important). There are so many things that are going on and are more important to our well-being than spending time and wasting it in such trivial conflict about who is saying what about christmas and whatnot. you have to see the logic in that. that new law that just passed along with the other laws that have been passed in the last few years have made quite a mess!

  • @JGvisions Actually this is not trivial as it informs policy in this country/ Reading the bill myself, I don't see anything in it that would allow the detainment of US citizens that weren't involved in planning terrorist acts. It also doesn't expand any powers that the presidential branch didn't gain under Bush or previous president. The conflict in this video though informs policies that do effect many people in this country the LGBTQ community, women's rights, reproductive choice, etc,

  • @rersp21107

actually, ndaa codifies the indefinite detainment of ANYBODY that is SUSPECTED of any ties to a so-called "terrorist" group, even if such "ties" are made unwittingly. but thats not the point. the point is that for the first time in US history, we now have a King, BY LAW, not to mention the slippery slope such a law IS. also, Bush did not allow the extra-judicial killing of US citizens, which punk bitch Obama has. JGvisions is correct in sounding the alarm.

  • @alovelytime I don't see any language int he bill tha suppports the idea that someone who unwittingly supports terrorist organization's would be subject to detainment. The language says substantial. Who unwittingly gives substantial support to a terrorist organization? No where does it authorize the indefinite detention of US citizens. And in Section 1022 it exempts citizens from being held by the military pending deposition. I think this is seriously being blown out of proportion.

  • @rersp21107

ever heard of "slippery slope?" doesnt seem like it. joe public sends money to some charity, that charity supports some "terrorist" group. joe public can be detained indefinitely. "substantial" is a matter of OPINION; an opinion that cannot be challenged in open court via due process, BTW.

NOWHERE does it EXCLUDE US citizens from indefinite detention. all sec 1022 says is that US citizens are not REQUIRED to be detained by the military, as foreigners are.

  • @rersp21107

read sec 1021. any EXCLUSION for US citizens? none.

  • @JGvisions I disagree. This is not trivial, at all. I'm curious as to why you would think it is. It's not simply "he said, she said." It's molding our first amendment. The religious right has proven to be influential in their lobbying efforts. I consider the first amendment very important, as do many others.

  • @BlackAtheistsAmerica the thing is we wont have that right in the sense that when the religious right who have great pull are given more authority by backing the new NDAA law that just passed(which we all know was created by and pushed with the expressed purpose of quieting dissidents to some status quo -people such as yourself against religious pandering). think about it, what is a more important issue right now? bringing up what these religious nut jobs are doing on a smaller scale...part1

  • @JGvisions The first amendment is one of the most litigated areas of law.How is this trivial? I do not think these issues are "more important."They are just as important. We do not simply look at black letter law.How the court interprets that law is equally - and arguably, more important.

Your comments insinuate that the these issues are mutually exclusive.

It's akin to saying: "Why focus on rape victims, when we should be focusing on victims of domestic violence?" It's a false dichotomy.

  • @BlackAtheistsAmerica i think your analogue should be "why focus on rape victims, when we should be focusing on crime in general?! or the underlining issues that cause this crime to happen!" makes more sense in the broader scope of possible things that are a problem. its a matter of prioritizing the most significant problems on a list of issues that need to be addressed. i bring this up because we are currently dealing with a MAJOR issue that Affects everyone in a big scale and our...part1

  • @BlackAtheistsAmerica energy is to finely divided on issues that can be addressed later or are more or less insignificant in the grander scope of things. lets stop the destruction of the constitution with the passing of these new amendments (which as you are a lawyer do realize includes that extra special first amendment you want to protect)which turns the US into a totalitarian state, stop these ongoing wars, and fix the economy which will set the stage dealing with the other issue we face!

  • @BlackAtheistsAmerica ...or the current situation of us being in 2 wars (going into another one in 2013) , our economic health which could possibly lead to a form of social anarchy, and the passing of these new laws in recents years which have subtly stripped us of our rights. all these issues accept for 1 of them have something to do with the loss of life or the degradation of it in a real sense. you cannot just ignore it and hope it will go away. i know the realm of athiesm is your...part2

  • @BlackAtheistsAmerica ...domain and you may or may not exclusively focus on matters that deal with the Atheist community but the issues that affect it and other communities and the civil liberties that act as the glue that holds us all together is what we need to focus on. we have common enemy right now and its time we focus on facing what is going on. respectfully, its like focusing on a crack in wall when the entire house your in is falling down around you! ill put up a vid later to explain!

  • @JGvisions

um....its called the NATIONAL defense authorization act.
