Lancers are very reliable. I have a 1999 Lancer VRX, and its done over 250k and it hasnt missed a beat, the car is still perfect from the day we bought it brand new. They are great, reliable cars

we have a 2002 mitsubishi lancer es with 132k. we brought the car eight years ago and the only major problem was the spark plugs had to be replaced. its been a good car to us.

i got one a few days ago after doing research since it came out, and drove an 05 lancer before. i may be a little biased, but i have to say, the only con is not being an Evo X.

But as with anything, always shop around. ill recommend the lancer 100%, but not everyone is looking for this kind of car.

If you are getting the GTS model, i would consider waiting until your dealer has the 09 models since it has a 2.4 liter 168 hp engine instead of the 08 2.0 liter 156hp engine

I got the GTS last week with site n sound and the nav package. Noting to complain about. it burns CD's to the hard drive as you play them. The car handles great. The paddle shift is fun. I get asked at every light about the car. It also is Blue Tooth capable for a cell phone. 6 Months free sat radio. If you are thinking about it GET ONE!. One word of caution. STAY AWAY FROM THE MITSUBISHI DEALER IN LIBERTYVILLE IL. They are not good at all. GO TO SCHAUMBERG and ask for Jeff Bishop.

You can get the manual transmission with the GTS model, I got one myself with the manual.

I got the GTS myself, Electric Blue with sun and sound package with the Nav Rockford Fosgate the whole 9. The handling is just awesome in this car, I'll take some curves hard to test it out, and the chassis is just begging for more power and holds true to the road. Its a great car, no complaints from except it needs more power lol. But can't afford the Evo sadly.

Ya the engine does not suck, it is MADE FOR TURBO unlike that crappy civic, the engine is also underrated in HP at 152 because a stock engine was dynoed and I believe it dynoed at 146hp to the WHEELS and there is no way it only lost 6hp, so a good estimate to actual crank hp would be around 170, and not to mention the handling is awesome in this car.
