@JorthGarNVG little to none at all, really. In almost twenty years, the most serious one was a nearly dislocated shoulder from falling wrong after a leg hook. There are bumps, bruises and fat lips every season to be sure, but nothing serious. We aren't even that dangerous, but we do a good job making it look that way. I've been wondering, what wood do you make your shields out of? Pine? Basswood? Or just any light plywood you can get? I'm planning on making my own for a similar purpose. I was wondering what thickness you would recommend? I guess I should just condense it into a single question:
Could you give me a brief lesson on viking shield making/design?
I've done some research, but you obviously have field experience with them, and I was wondering about your opinions.
