  • Nice! Next time bring Scooby.

  • Would this Deluxe Bass be any useful in my Joy Division covers? I want a modern bass that can keep up with Peter Hooks bass picking. Please get back to me on that.

  • THIS IS JUST MY OPINION: The sound of a bass alone is a good indicator for solos. In a song, it needs to work within the group. I'm a little weary of the modern bass sounds that dial in a thin glassy top to "punch through" especially in slap that crash into cymbals, synths and high vocals. Larry Graham came through great, Stanley Clarke et al were mixed great without the brittleness of modern sounds. Learn how to mix yourself in your group BE the bass. BTW this a niiice bass.

  • Dear santa...

  • Decent review for someone who's gonna be playing jazzy stuff. Where's the review for the more rock styles? :-)

  • The chrome thing is such an eyesore. Is it possible to switch it out for another? Awesome bass.

  • is this an active bass?

  • @ar8n Yes.

  • @ar8n actually, you can switch between active and passive

  • @ar8n it actually has a switch to choose between active or passive mode

  • Are you using flatwound strings? The sound is so deep, especially noticeable starting around 1:33.

  • Very good video, we can get the real sound of this bass, justperfect.

  • i guess you use a cheap amp

  • for around the same price you could get a clement

  • @Mrsfatblackchick + with a Clement you can have it exactly how you want it!

  • Good review, thanks Shaggy.

  • that's an awesome bass.

  • this dudes playing never results in a good review. never. how about playing similar lines or grooves with different settings every once in a while?

  • Im not gonna be slapping in a hard rock band T_T

  • The chrome plating around the knobs doesn't seem to be shown on the fender website. Is it a special edition for the chrome plating? I think it looks better than the one that is all black plastic.

  • @steelcitysi It's not chrome there is a piece of plastic over the controls to tell you what they do but the pickguard is all black.

  • A light neck would sound much brighter

  • and also what amp are you using in these videos

  • @wilfredthomas We went direct with a Radial JDI direct box.

  • Hi I am looking forward to buy a fender bass soon. But I am confused as to which model of p bass to buy. Whats the major difference between a american deluxe p bass and a american standard precision bass. does the deluxe give the original p bass tone or the additive j pickup adds a little puch to it always. i like the standard p bass sound but would also like to play slap one in a while. which of the two bass would you suggest.

  • @wilfredthomas The American Deluxe has a active preamp which gives you more output and more tone control making it more versatile for finger style and slap style.

  • @NstuffMusic Will that help the pick style?

  • @metalballs201O Depending on what you are going for tonally with a pick.

  • @NstuffMusic I'm going for hmmm... Some thrash metal, a little Pantera stuffs, melodeath, and metalcore

  • @metalballs2010 Buy an ESP LTD and you are good to go.

  • nice slap playing.

  • Bonsoir. Je reprocherais toujours aux modèles deluxe de ne pas être de vraies guitares : les precisions et autres ne sont de vraies guitares que si elles ont toutes

leurs pièces comme à l'origine de leur conception. Leo fender doit bien rire de là-haut. Sinon, j'aime bien vos tests !

  • sorry to say, but this wasn't very helpful. Why only slapping?

  • you have the best job

  • Ooh, this is a bass I want ... damn expensive things but sound oh so nice :).
