As for the rest of the song, i took it as a metaphor for social pressure to follow a certain way of life and the song was a way of telling the "Angel" that she won't conform to their way of life. Then again, it's one of those songs that can only be accurately explained by the author. Maybe that's some of the appeal.;) I love this song as well.
