You make a common mistake that is made by those who know little about the founding of our country and our founding documents. Nowhere in the Constitution does "separation of church and state" appear. Religion, like any idea, philosophy, or concept, is completely reasonable and allowable in politics. There can be no state church, but praying by presidents and politicians has always been part of public speeches and policies. This is free speech and those who don't like it can not listen.

It's not a myth - some excellent scholarship has been written on the occult practices of the Nazis. For your teachers to say it is a myth and implying that there is not debate on this issue is wrong- it makes me question their education. And for you to misinterpret Mein Kampf as a factual account and not propaganda that Hitler used to gain public support is a bit shocking. The Nazis were atheists who believed in Darwinism and eugenics, which they used to justify killing of "lesser" humns.
First of all I would like to know what academic sources you have that say this because in my research (yes, I did my own on the topic after discussing it in class) I could find none. Secondly eugenics does not entail a lack of religion, organizations existed in Canada and the US that practised eugenics until it became unpopular because of the Nazis. Those people were religious. Thirdly, while Hitler's book does contain propaganda that is not all that it contains (eg. Hitler's plans, etc.)

These historians who say with certainty that not only was Hitler not pagan or atheist, but Christian! likely are biased because of their own hatred of religion and belief that atheists are superior to to those who believe in the "fantasies" of religion. You make a common mistake that is made by those who know little about the founding of our country and our founding documents. Nowhere in the Constitution does "separation of church and state" appear. Religion, like any idea, philosophy, or concept, is completely reasonable and allowable in politics. There can be no state church, but praying by presidents and politicians has always been part of public speeches and policies. This is free speech and those who don't like it can not listen.

It's not a myth - some excellent scholarship has been written on the occult practices of the Nazis. For your teachers to say it is a myth and implying that there is not debate on this issue is wrong- it makes me question their education. And for you to misinterpret Mein Kampf as a factual account and not propaganda that Hitler used to gain public support is a bit shocking. The Nazis were atheists who believed in Darwinism and eugenics, which they used to justify killing of "lesser" humns.

First of all I would like to know what academic sources you have that say this because in my research (yes, I did my own on the topic after discussing it in class) I could find none. Secondly eugenics does not entail a lack of religion, organizations existed in Canada and the US that practised eugenics until it became unpopular because of the Nazis. Those people were religious. Thirdly, while Hitler's book does contain propaganda that is not all that it contains (eg. Hitler's plans, etc.)

My argument is similar to saying you can't convict someone of murder without the evidence to back it up. The evidence supports Hitler being supersitious, not an occultist.

As Wiggle pointed out, yes, it is essentially the birth of the sun. The Solstice festival where evergreens are brought together and candles are lit is a way for us to remind the Earth of what she once had in summer: green, life, and light. It's basically our way of celebrating these things when we have them the least with the hope that the energy we put forth will help usher in the new season.

If you kill a terminally ill cancer patient, is it still murder? That is what we are basically arguing. We can never technically take a person's life, seeing as we all die at some point anyway. We can only take time from their lives.
Considering this, murder is no less murder when the person would have died by nature, their own hand, the hand of their own people, or the hand of some one from another 'group'.

Excuse me, Hulk, but if I may, you are making multiple generalizations. One is that all Native Americans kill each other (hasn't every race killed others of its own?)
Second, the Mayans, Incas, and the Natives that were killed during the colonization of the United States are all different. Creeks, Seminoles, Sioux, etc. Individuals are different within those different groups. Think before you generalize.

I appreciate your criticism and indeed you are correct, i concede that i have generalized. But indeed was my response not one in defence of a generalization? To not listen to christians because they killed native americans, correct? What I meant to illustrate is that his statement is also an absurd generalization about christians. Consider that before you criticize my intent.
