  • Looks like the sovngarde sky :P

  • If I saw 1:20 in the sky, I would pee my pants.

  • 1 gram of antimatter...

  • @opapinguin ... Equivalent To 43 Kilotons roughly according to Wikipedia.

  • more powerful than tsar bomba

  • yeah right that much anti matter will totally annihalate them

  • @Pr0GgreSsuVe well actually the that much antimatter as depicted in the video. would do 10 times more energy released in fact antimatter as much as a paperclip can destroy the entire of new york into rubble i should know i am a Theoretical physicist

  • @BrandonBlaze904 Shut up you lying racist.

  • Beautiful

  • It's a bird! No, it's a bomb. It's a plane! No, it's a bomb! It's Charlie the Unicorn. Okay, yes, it's Charlie the Unicorn.

  • Incredible.

  • imagine seeing 1:20 in the sky. truly breathtaking

  • fucking awesome :D !

  • :Dlol the effect at 0:34 is used all of the modern movies when an explosion occurs its a bass UUUUUU from the left to the right:Dinteresting cliché...i always laugh when i hear it:)

  • @mrbelever As cliché as it might sound, that bass is freaking insanely epic when watching something similar in a theater, especially Imax or Ultra AVX. Pure insanety to the ears. You feel it in your chest haha.

  • Burned a hole in the sky...

  • WTF!!!! BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM MWHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!

  • @DavidiVids Its the movies not real life. If the antimatter was real (and I'm not saying it is or isn't) then it may look slightly different or even completely different.

  • Fus.. RO DAH!

  • @germanchild1100 lookded more like a dragonrend...

  • How much antimatter was used?

  • @Atuin6298 Enough to kill you :P

  • Thumbs up if you somewhat heard "You lost the lead" hidden voice four second after the chopper explode.

  • @L3G3nD0001 i did O.O

  • @L3G3nD0001

It doesn't sound like that, at all.

  • People, remember that when antimatter interacts with [regular] matter, it has a 100% energy output. All of the mass/matter is converted to energy.

  • I can't imagine how this would've sounded in the theater Q.Q

I bet it would've felt like you got hit by the wave coming from the blast @.@

  • BEST....SCENE....EVER!!!!!!!!!!

  • Shinra Tensei?

  • SUPER AWESOME!

  • Is anti matter supposed to look like that? I thought antimatter looked like matter. I don't know what state of anti matter is that supposed to be. Plus is anti matter supposed to emit alot of photons all the time?

  • @KoreaRwkz No, in the book it was described as a black droplet the size of a BB. I guess Ron Howard wanted something more menacing-looking.

  • @KoreaRwkz im guessing all the light (photon emission, whatever you wanna call it) was just to make the movie more interesting and for visual effect. I'm sure antimatter doesn't look like that.

  • @DavidiVids actually it does when reacted with matter it will explode and since it was about the size of a gram it would be 100 times stronger than a nuclear warhead

  • @1234MasterNinja yes, obviously it would explode, but I think the question was whether the explosion would look like that.

  • Looks like a Final Fantasy special!

  • Heh nice explosion, sucks to in the vicinity of it.

  • why not anti mater nuclear atomic bomb..

  • ya dnt need it anti matter is most powerfulll atomic bomb uses not much percent of energy it is given anti matter is 100 percent

  • @TheRegimelife Because then, the anti-matter would absorb the main content it was used in atomic bomb, and ended with an anti-matter explosion.

  • best scene in a movie ever

  • The explosion from The Fountain wasn't too bad either ;D

  • I thought Langdon is with camerlengo...and he fell on the tiber river?? but the movie's great.....AMAZING actually!!!!!!!! one of my most favorite movies....though i'm a catholic....and i love science too... (P.S. don't even think about it :( )

  • @the3471kronos then dont even be so dumb? fucking idiot

  • I had a dream once where in the sky there was what looked like the exact explosion that goes on here except is was completely silent and there was severak of them, theyre were even more brilliant colours than seen here aswell

  • In size*

  • @tsivqdans96 look it up, if antimatter comes

into contact with the normal matter, a conversion rate of mass into explosive energy outdoes that of a hydrogen bomb. For example the 'tsar bomba' yielded a 42 megatonne explosion - or 1.75 x10^17 J of energy. An antimatter with matter collision, with 1kg of each yields a 1.79 x10^17 J energy release. The two are quite similar, however the latter is substantially smaller

  • i cry a little every time i watch this.it's just the soundtrsck AND THEN I have to watch that beautiful explosion without it being something that would completely piss me off, I FUCKING LOVE IT

  • This scene always seems kind of sad to me. It reminds me that, as a species, some of our greatest achievements have also been our most devastating.

  • This is pure awesomeness and beautifulness!!

  • Lal if it was real u wouldnt have seen it since antimatter is always invisible

  • Anyone know the specific soundtrack during this scene? I'd love to download.

  • i loved it

  • Beautiful scene in an awesome movie IMHO. The music in this scene alone should have earned Hans Zimmer a nomination for Best Score

  • Comment removed

  • Best scene in the movie

  • @MrMurray888 hell yeah

  • I think governments should use these instead of nuclear bombs because they're so pretty <3 and they dont produce harmful fallout radiation! jk but seriously i think this is the only way I actually wouldn't mind dying.

  • @betrekwoman why? this is suposed to be a better form of energy sourse, not a wepon.

  • @betrekwoman try lookin at the Nuclear IMPLOSION shown in Resident Evils 4th Movie at the beggining. It CLEAN CUTS solid matter leaving a molten lined sphere cutout. and no radiation either.

  • That weapon doesn't seem very practical.

  • @BungieX2000 nah, just throw it on the ground.. VERY practical for suicide bombers :D

  • Inrealistic... Antimatter explosions would notmake a sound and would just create a hole where the antimatter touched.

  • @MrZongorth its a fuckin movie

  • @MrZongorth Its a fucking film!!!!!!!!!!

  • Best explosion i've ever seen in a movie

  • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

  • this looked like a power up in DBZ lol..especially in the second wave...best explosion i've ever seen

  • for galileo }:(

  • Next Canada day or 4th of july, instead of fireworks just get a jar of anti-matter.

    Greatest light show ever!

  • i loved that movie...

  • You can reproduce the same explosion at home by dumping ten pounds of mentos into a swimming pool filled with pepsi

  • @MG8256 Is that supposed to be funny?

  • This movie is cool.

  • Best explosion scene in the history of movie making, IMHO...

  • Satan will use anti-matter As Elohim used matter 2 create Satan uses anti-matter 2 destroySatan uses Hollywood 2tell people what he up 2 & uses it from mind control & propaganda Angel&Demons shows this anti-matter bomb & weapon he will use Now the delivery system All in line with the propaganda that we are being fed today. It could look like an meteorite, comet,Alien attack or battles etc Why use this anti-matter device because it will destroy targets& remove large populat without the radiation

  • @zipfreer dont smoke crack

  • @zJoWz Yeah well, realty is coming soon as u will see It's going to be like a punch in the face to the ignorant !

  • @zJoWz 45 yr old child,Just keep playing your video games escaping from reality ok sock puppet nice fake page too.

  • @zipfreer Ladies and gentlemen, crack cocaine is bad because it makes you stupid and hallucinate like this guy. Not to mention all the other effects like cancer, death, stroke, loss of teeth, and possible OD which would cause heightened blood pressure. I hope you quit soon. Your hallucinations are starting to creep me out.

  • and tone of gamma-rays should killing them all.

  • gorgeous

  • aha... to get so many antimatter the LHC in zern has to work over 1million years... so...

  • The f#$%king sky is on fire man!!! OMG humanity sucks ass we burned the forests, deserts, mountains, our own city's, ocean, and now air!! Really AIR! When will it end!!

  • Science:1, Vatican City:0

  • @furialatino vatican wasnt destroyed at all

  • This don't make sense to me , an antimatter explosion would have pulverized everything in sight with much bigger impact and no witnesses would be alive, Hollywood junk again

  • @SnapeMaster Well, there IS a blast radius, and the altitude the bomb exploded at minimized the damage.

  • @SnapeMaster It's called a movie for a reason.

  • @TheWrathMovies no man, that WAS God, up in the air above the vatican.

  • But... in the book Langdon was also in the helicopter and was saved by jumping in the Tiber, and Vittoria thought he was dead. And when comes out he's alive, they kiss! The most beautiful part from the book is left from the movie...

  • @DavidSDoubleU I agree with you

  • Yes, seems absolutely plausible that you can carry antimatter in a little triple a vacuum battery.

  • 0:44-0:46 Tht has got to hurt

  • 0:57 - Automated Large-scale Spring Cleaning

  • Turn up the bass on this clip!

For what it's worth this is one of the best scenes of any film I have ever seen... musically and visually - it's a triumph!

  • Chaos Blast!

  • Its abit mentall how people of faith would see this as a act of god yet people of sceince would see this as a bomb, its such a act a of power that both could be right. I know its just a film :P yet if it happened everyone would still be divided

  • De toda la película fue mi parte favorita por mucho... jaja

  • Eh. I do that everyday, when i take a shit!

  • A mini big bang. Interesting concept.

  • Most awesome-looking explosion ever.

  • That little bit of antimatter did all that?

  • @AeroSixWJ Half a gram of antimatter = Hiroshima atomic bomb.

  • @AeroSixWJ Yes, the principle is similar to a nuclear explosion.

  • @TaZ101SAGA No, it isn't. When antimatter comes into contact with normal matter a huge amount of energy is released when the atoms and antiatoms annihilate each other. That's the principle. And where the hell did they get so much antimatter?

  • @TheDarkblueFlow CERN....

  • @100000hitsClub I think you are confused. They do release radiation. But they do not release any nuclear waste, such as nuclear fallout. But everything releases radiation.

  • @TheMagicBolt they release electromagnetic waves, not ionic radiation like in chernobyl

  • @nfsmohpsp Thats what i just said. Everything composed of atoms emits EMR. But it doesn't release any radiation linked to nuclear fallout.

  • @100000hitsClub umm...actually most of the energy released is radiation....we use small amounts for medical scans...ever heard of a PET scan?? Positron Emission Tomography (positrons are antimatter)

  • how much grams of antimatter is this

  • @C00LX100 More like how many atoms of antimatter.

  • @Chris260633 I think the most the were able to hold so far at CERN is about 200 atoms or so.....

  • @shadowOrgon which is about ... a very strong firecracker :P

  • @OverlordMD probably not even that lol though the actually explosion from antimatter would be more radiation than shock wave.....so my guess all the people will die of radiation poisoning in a few days :p

  • @shadowOrgon yeah xD

  • Well looks like somebody just got a 25 killstreak...

  • This was so epic, I could cry.

  • and so the world ends, cause that explosion just ripped the ozone layer.. hellooo solar rays... instant roasted turkey coming right up.

  • @teddythebenny As someone who studied chemistry and physics for years, please shut the fuck up.

  • "I know not what weapons world war three will be fought with, but I know for sure world war four will be fought with sticks and stones." -Albert Einstein

  • @MHSRULES12 sooo true.. wait, polished stones or rough stones ? .. rock or diamonds ?

  • Yay!!! Obi Wan Kenobi saved us all!!!

(damn shame all this was for a spot on the Pope's Chair. *spoiler*)

  • @thegreenbeast i think when people say we are going to destroy the world they mean life as we know it will be disrupted, like a nuclear war/ antimatter war. Theres no way we could produce enough antimatter to destroy the world, but remeber, its a 100% conversion mass-to energy rate, compared to 1% or an atomic bomb. Antimatter is powerful, and i bet a pound or two could kill of all the cities in the world. That sucks. lol

  • 1 kilo of Matter, 1 kilo of AntiMatter annihilation = 42.9615287 Megaton of TNT. All mass would be turned to Gamma electromagnetic radiation, so if this was real all the people would be fried.

  • @PetrolDemon Hush. lets not ruin the good scene and amazing special affects. its just a movie..

  • if you watch this with a subwoofer, it's like heaven

  • @saucycade123 the heaven on fire. imagine the downfall of the world... this is what the heaven will look like.

  • when i saw this movie at the cinemas, i fell asleep, i woke up at the very beginning of this scene..... best.scene.ever

  • @WOUTRT funny, it would be the last thing you will see also=D

  • anti matter is true invented by CERN

  • @Yeen1000 more like discovered and artificially created at CERN. its always existed, just never before been harnessed

  • If you watch carefully at 1:17 in the right side of the frame.. the way the background stretches.. proves it was filmed using a blue/green screen :) it's a really good video composing work, though

  • Fortunately it will require a least one thousand of million of years to even create that amount of antimatter

  • is it bad that my eyes teared up?

    Because of the sweetness...

  • vatican city was just pwned by CERN

  • Comment removed

  • Glory of Science above the Glory of Man-Made god

BTW, CERN antimatter is not enough to do such an annihilation.

  • fortunately noone got hurt

  • wow. I was expecting the comments to be filled with Chuck Norris references...hope i haven't jinxed it.

  • @kevista117 Chuck Norris can never reach the amount of epicness that this movie contains

  • @jaspertheking4life <.< chuck norris can make that explosion every time he rips ass

  • @Saucymaggots69713 oh come on, he's like 70 years old now, his farts have gone from this, to a anti tank mine.

  • Science and Religion = EPICNESS!!!!

  • Listen up my nerdish youtubers! Its a film, STOP GETTING FUCKING TECHNICAL !

  • God obviously wasn't watching the vatican enough.

  • @TheWrathMovies Or maybe he thought "nows my chance... a perfect excuse!!!"

  • thats what happens when chuck norris sneezes

  • I have a simple question if uranium the size of an average adults fist take out an entire city but produce so much radiation why cant we use anti matter instead of uranium? if we can produce a very small limited supply of anti matter why dont we make at least one antimatter bomb and test that if that explosion in Angels in demons wasn't in the air i bet their wouldn't be any city left just a huge crater. just wondering in stead of uranium we use anti matter i know we are limited to small amounts

  • @TheDaftpunk02 well the answer is easy: we are only able to make a few nanograms of antimatter each year with present day technology, and imagine if the anti matter would escape and touch real matter, it would be catastrophic

  • @TheDaftpunk02 Apparently to make a 10 megaton explosion using antimatter it would take 2.5 million years to get enough antimatter.

  • @TheDaftpunk02 AHAHAHAHAHAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ANTIMATTER?

YOU KNOW HOW MUCH ANTIMATTER WE HAVE RIGHT NOW?

WE HAVE TWENTY NANOGRAMS OF ANTIMATTER!

    TWENTY... NANOGRAMS.

YOU GOT ANY FRIGGIN' IDEA HOW HARD TO MAKE?

YOU DON'T MINE FOR DAT STUFF, BRAH.

  • @cowgoesmoo2 there has to be a easier and more efficient way to create anti matter and i have one other question what is the equation is wrong and 1kg doesnt equal 43 million mega tons of tnt what if its more ten times more or even twice as more how do they know how powerful antimatter is if we have never detonated one nano gram of the stuff what if they are wrong and it causes more damage then excepted what then i can answer that nothing we cant reverse it nothing thats all i want to know now

  • @TheDaftpunk02 As for now, there is absolutely no way to make it easier, and the only way we're getting energy from antimatter is finding it, if it exists in this universe.

The thing is, the equation isn't wrong, why would you need a nanogram of it ti figure out how exposive it is?

None of us went to the sun to figure out what's in it, you don't need a whole city-destroying test to figure how explosive is.

  • @cowgoesmoo2 i know you cant mine it but you can probably find it in space somewhere idk im no expert just stating the obvious and do u know how hard it is to create antimatter i dont because i dont make it i dont have some sorta machine that can make it in my backyard now if i was a scientist then yes but now no no clue but it is extremely hard. but antihydrogen atoms are harder and yes ive done some research on the subject not alot just enough to know a little about it thats all

  • @TheDaftpunk02 Nvm, I just read this comment. Anyways, but antimatter 'aint easy.

  • @jokrol324

    ...Yet.

  • Awful lot of matter-of-fact elitists here taking the fun out of an epic Hollywood explosion....

  • @jokrol324

    ...Yet.

  • they seem to leave out that antimatter+matter= no matter. air is matter, so the air that was destroyed should have caused a vacuum, sucking air into the big hole where there is none.

  • @MultiAnonymousdude *Facepalm*

1 Gram of antimatter + 1 Gram of matter = 1 Gram of no matter.

Rather than 1 Gram of antimatter + 1 Gram of matter =/= giant friggin vacuum.

  • @cowgoesmoo2 I did a report on antimatter, and there actually is a huge reaction. The annihilation of one Kilo of antimatter is equal to about a 43 megaton bomb

  • @saucycade123 SWEET JESUS, don't you get what I'm talking about?

I'm saying an explosion doesn't cause a vacumm, god you guys everyone here is a tard!

  • @saucycade123 if your house was made of antimatter it would destroy earth

  • @WOUTRT

    naah

if you want to blow the earth to smithereens you need thousands of tons of anti matter... the baby is stronger then you think ;)

  • @thegreeenbeast nice but still, a serious piece of the earth would be blown away into space or vaporize :)

  • @WOUTRT

haha i would guess the power at about 980 000 megatons of TNT

thats 4 666 666 times the explosion of nagasaki
