@Gabrieja Oh darn! You might be able to search for neoprene swim caps at other online stores. Neoprene is the key material that makes a good swim cap ;)
one last question , i have long as heck hair but its not entirely thick.
do you recommend the diva womans or unisex ? the uni is for ones with short shoulder length. while the womans is intended for long , thick hair... i have the long , but not really thick.
@THExLIM3 Get the Diva size, it does not say 'Diva' on it or anything it just has small white letters on it that says "MY" and a little bit of blue around the letters. It is for long hair in general and since your hair will be getting even longer, the Diva size will be able to accommodate that too :)
. i was on a swim team back in 2009 and had to stop because i graduated.i am hesitant on getting back into the water ,because im afraid my hair will dry up. but swimming is the best exercise of all to me.
i have it down to my butt. i am a guy so its not to common to see that. i plan on growing it as long as possible.
i plan on getting this cap for sure
is there any tips you can throw my way since i plan on doing it as a daily routine.
@THExLIM3 Cool, do you make any hair vidsr? Heavy oils (coconut oil is really good for penetrating the hair shaft and filling up the inside of the hair so chlorine doesn't get in) & a heavy conditioner under the cap during and after swim. When I get out I shampoo twice right away then condition twice. A lot of product is used but I think it is worth it to make sure all the chlorine is out & hair is being protected. I would periodically check and make sure your hair is not drying out :)
@THExLIM3 I use the shampoo from the company, "Kiss My Face" it is the "Whenever" shampoo, it cleans pretty good. Super gentle handling at all times works really well to preserve hair, and ph balanced products help to keep hair sealed up, strong and shiny.
hi! sorry i dont think i heard u mention this so i wanted to double check- do you shampoo your hair after each time you swim? I hear some naturals do that but I don't know if I want to be shampooing all the time.
@napeakor Hi! Yes I shampoo twice after swimming and then condition. I will usually swim on the days when I am already going to shampoo my hair so it works out :)
@napeakor Even with a swim cap, there is still a little water that gets in. If chlorine does get to your hair it can be drying to hair so the optimal option for hair protection would be to shampoo the chlorine out as soon as possible. I use a gentle sulfate free shampoo and shampoo twice with it after swimming.
this is perfect. i think i will have to order this. i've been wanting to get back into swimming, but i just don't like all the maintenance there is with my hair. and now i'm wearing extensions for a summer protective style. if this can fit all my hair into it, brilliant! i have definitely gone through a few caps and just gave up.
this video was very informative. I went swimming a lot last spring (in college currently) @ the pool in my school's rec center and never wore a swim cap and my hair starting getting dry then I put 2n2 together and this upcoming semester (I go back to school in 2 weeks yay!) I CANNOT wait to go again BUT....protected this time ;c ) <3
You love so Jackie O in the car! Thanks for posting an update to your older video. I gonna be taking lessons...again in a few days. Important life skill indeed!
Great Vid love;-) My daughter has been swimming alot and everytime she comes home her hair is full of chlorine and she hates it!LOL;-) I will try this if I can;-) Thank You again!
GREAT tut! I'm going to try this brand. Now I can go to the gym's pool w/ protected locs n get fit doing what I like. Thank you so much. Great advice/ recommendations. xoxo
can you do a whole video on how you protect your hair? I never noticed how much I don't protect my natural curls.. :/ it worries me because I want my hair to be strong and healthy!
@blisslyss Sure! Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. There are lots of little steps I use to protect my hair; over some time they become routine (& not really time consuming) and they really add up to significant protection. I have also enhanced some protective measures with some quality materials recently and I will include them in the video as well. A lot of it has to do with not doing things, like no using heat, not processing the hair in any way, that makes a big difference as well. Thanks!
@MissBelleMuse Although I love going to the beach, I mostly do full underwater swimming in a pool. However, I plan to do some snorkeling soon and may at some point get into diving possibly.. and I'll be wearing a swim cap on all those occasions :)
Wow! I've never seen such a well made swim cap! Thank you for this video! I think it would be great if this company also made swim caps in the style of a bun or long hanging loc soc, to allow more room for the hair without having to pile it (just letting it flow down a bit).
i would like to go back swim soon, have not been in awhile , great video , i am going to look into a good swim cap, yours look really nice in it looks like it will keep water out , thanks for sharing , this was very helpful :)
loved your videos it's totally helpfull for me i live in europe and i am afro- european descendent and here dont have many information how can treat curly hair.
I am very interest on this cap i might get that, but you can tell me where you purchased, I live in europe.
thank you for the advice im currently growing my hair as well.....you inspired me :) it is a little past my shoulders curly (maybe 3 inches) and streched it is almost half way down my back. i love all of your videos and im glad to see you making them more frequently. god bless...and nice writing you again :)
@OurLadyLourdes Thanks! Yeah the scarf in the car helps, and I notice that natural silk is perfect to have against my hair. I like wearing my hair loose but I am starting to like wearing it tucked away too. Also, I switched out my synthetic silk bonnets for natural silk and it has made a big difference (I'll do a vid on silk) :)
loved your Jacki O look in the car! that's dedication! i have finally found a swim cap too that doesn't leak in too much water, but it's still not perfect! yours looks perfect! i might get that swimcap, that would be perfect, thank you! great tips.
@louloumatou Oh darn! Wow the shipping is way too much! Maybe you can call the company to see if they can work on shipping it to you in a more affordable way or something..?
Thanks a BUNCH! I just ordered my Diva Cap. I'm so excited. I will be able to swim again without worrying about my hair. Thanks
