do you know if the GBS 8200/8220 CGA/VGA converter boards work with MK1/MK2? I'm putting together a similar multicabinet, but I'm using a computer monitor and the GBS 8220 to convert the video. SF2 works fine (as do older games), but MK1 and MK2 both have video issues... thoughts?

@bergles1 The MK games run at 53hz refresh rate. SF runs at 60hz. I am sure that's the issue. The converter only outputs at 60hz. It gets confused by the 53hz. I messaged you a replacement converter that I would recommend.

You used the T-Unit for MK1 which DOES have the same connections for the extra buttons as the other MK's, right? Earlier Y-Units had different wiring for the extra buttons, right? THANKS.

Well, HP Block and HK are in the Jamma harness. LP LK and Run are in the Jamma+ harness. I installed diodes on all the LK/LP harnesses for each board and everything went fine.

no problems so to keep one of these cabinets u need a general understanding in computer engineering? cuz all that motherboard ,romz and that other stuff you talk about i dont really know much

Wouldn't need computer engineering, just some basic wiring and voltage measuring. Unless one of the chips on a board goes bad and you have to replace it (it happens every so often and really isn't that hard to pull/replace) these boards are pretty much plug and play. There's a standard wiring harness for the cabinet, the boards just plug in, plus a little extra wiring for any buttons beyond the first 3, it's a little like an SNES game going into the snes, just bigger boards. :)

Hey, that's...I think that's another difference between 2.1 and the final revision of MK2. Because it should have (unless for some reason it only does this for the SNES version?) reset the Fatality time when you did the first half of Sub-Zero's deep freeze, so I'm quite sure you should have had just enough time to change back and finish the Fatality... (I think. I could very well be wrong. ^_^; But I think so, anyway.)
