I think the main point is the fact that contest was one step on his Start of Darkness - he might had really cheated on that just to impress his father, and when that wasn't enough he started being a smartass for real.

An Helper. He Helps Batman outside the island if I'm not mistaken.

In the Comics he is now a "good guy" and sometimes helps Batman

But you dont see it and you dont fight him.

The funny thing is if one ends up in a insane asylum the doctors treating you would never belive you to be sane, seeing as they would probrably would say that your saying your "normal" or doing normal stuff just to prove to them that you are normal. And you would remain in there till you actually go insane.

The Riddler's in it, but I don't think they ever show him (someone correct me if I'm wrong). He talks to you via radio throughout the game in order to give you riddles, though, and you can also hear him talk in these patient interviews.

I don't see why not. Imagine him as like the Zodiac Killer. The Zodiac always left Taunting poems on his victims. Imagine the Riddler doing the same thing, but instead riddles hinting to the next public head he's going to kill, how he's going to kill him, and where he's going to kill them.

in the actual comic books of bat man it is a lot more dark and gritty then any of the more popular movies cept for the newest one the riddler wasnt a real killer.....he sees himself as a genuis and riddles people as a way to put them against him. and to date the only person who ever beat his riddle. batman is a dark world in the comic books but the riddler is probally the most tamest out of all the villans in the comic book and even helps the bat on occasion
