Rest assured that conservatives will not go for socialized medicine without a MASSIVE fight. Palin will NOT "keep hardcore conservatives that are in the Congress inline". To say so is contradictory, baseless, and demeaning.

I say only largely, because you did mention the federal government offering a voluntary and affordable insurance program. I do have what I consider a decent notion of what such a bureaucracy would become, and it isn't pretty.
I understand your concerns however I will tell you that I have paid out of my own pocket over $20,000.00 this year in med bills! Most of my problems are a pre existing heart condition that my insurance will not cover. We need to do something...
$20,000 is about half the price of an average car these days. At the risk of sounding insensitive, is that a large amount to be spent for saving (or, to put it another way, extending beyond what may have otherwise been naturally) your life?
By the end of this year it will be more like 25K then God knows how much next year will cost! and yes my life is worth it However I think 4 most people that would be a bit more then they could do. I pray that you never know what it is like 2 get hit with such a large med bill and with no end in sight...
