  • Ha ha, duffo, only in the bloody 80's!

  • CLASSIC

  • Bizarre accent....is it supposed to be cockney? "Cor Blimey Marwee Poppins"

  • @StanPomeray

    Aussie

  • Holds the distinguished title of worst ever gig at Middlesbrough Rock Garden.

  • I've still got this single somewhere along with Tower of Madness!

  • Weird character. Almost like Shrink. I do prefer Shrink's music though.

  • nostalgia!! great.

  • Great to hear it again.

  • I played Guitar on the Lexicon album, it was my first proper paid session, recorded in bournemouth uk. Got the job through Jeff robinson.

  • saw him athe Moonlight / Railway @ west Hampstead in about 81...pure off the wall, and great entertyainment...great to hear it again.

  • I am a duffo

  • great album, the disappearing boy too. these were re-issued on cd; re-issue of bob the birdman was announced but dudn't happen. i like what he did later on too, he's a great singer with a voice that stands out and a good sense of humour. albeit in the sydney area, i think he's still going strong.

i saw him sing live (to a tape) in rotterdam 1980 where he was filling in between acts. he was given his own stage and show later in the afternoon, because of his instant appeal. long live duffo !

  • I was his keyboard player / songwiriting partner for 3 years or so - and yes he is a genius. I played on The Disappearing Boy, Bob the Birdman and Lexicon.

    Happy and creative times...

  • Song's called 'give me back me brain' (not 'my brain') and it's by Australian singer Jeff Duff, who at the time was trading under the name Duffo. Duff returned to Australia not long after and is still active today.

  • Also, I have uploaded this song on my own channel with better sound quality and lyrics.

  • I bought this when it came out.we use to have a laugh listening to it.

  • I had this album and loved him, like a completely mental Bowie!!

  • Really, I rocked along with Jeff and the 8 staights whenever that was , he is brilliant

  • I remember buying this back in 1979! It only reached number 60 in the UK charts but there was quite a bit of publicity about Duffo during that time; he appeared on the Old Grey Whistle Test in '79 in a straightjacket (apparently!) - would be great to see it posted on here if anybody has it!

  • Havn't heard this in years. Are you able to post 'rise in your Levis'?

  • thats a bit below the belt

  • I played guitar on his bext album 'Lexicon' i have a white label copy, but thats all, id love a cd! he was crazy, but still made the coffee for us!

  • Really? Who are you? You see, I was the keyboardist / arranger / co songwriter on that album, so are you Geoff Robinson or have you made it up?

  • BRILLIANT to hear again!!!!!! THANX!

  • My younger days back LOL!!!

  • Mine too. Raster blaster full voulume just to p*** off the general public.... LMAO!

  • could you send me a tape of the album, I would be over the moon!!!
