  • Yeah, but tells me nothing. I want to steam rice. how do you stop it falling through the holes and how much should I put in each section?

How do I do a frontal lobotomy at home?

  • Next she'll give us 18 seconds on the topic ... What is Quantum Physics?

  • @laughingcrows lol.

  • Too short, give us more

  • she is sexy

  • I bought mine at a thrift store . I just like the way it looked but had no idea what it was . Wonder no more.

  • I thought this video was very helpful. I've had a bamboo steamer sitting on top of my cupboards for about 2 years without even knowing what it was or how it got there (to be honest, I thought it was a bamboo case for jewelry or something, lol). After finding out what it really was, this simple video made using it very clear to me. All of the negative comments make me smile. Because everyone had Gordon Ramsay teaching them how to cook while they were growing up, right?

  • lol i love the comments <3

  • If you don't understand this video you are obviously a novice who knows nothing about cooking. It's not rocket science, people. This was short, simple, informative, and told me exactly what I needed to know.

  • @gneasachamasoin well you know what? not everyone is smart like you!!! stop judging us because we absorb information slower than others!!!

I demand a remake of this video that lasts for 1 minute!!!! this video was 18 seconds..and we need 42 more seconds!! Its okay if she just show us how to eat a steamed banana for the 42 seconds..

    ...Oh my god..I'm a genius~( ゚∀゚)

  • @gneasachamasoin So did you put the steamer under your wok?

  • @gneasachamasoin Novice or not, people have to start somewhere. I'm sure you didn't pop out of mum with a chef's hat and apron on :P

  • do you put water in the pan?

  • @alohastar yes

  • @alohastar How else is it a steamer without water? :os

  • If this clip had been titled "What is a bamboo steamer?", I would have left this ill-advised post shaking my head thinking "Sad" and gone about my business.

Instead, I'm annoyed enough to waste more time to note that this doesn't offer any instruction on HOW TO *USE* A BAMBOO STEAMER. I'll be sure to steer clear of any cookingguide results that come up in my searches since they believe this mess merits being online.

  • why ask so many questions? it's called RESEARCH!

  • Thank you gorgeous.

  • It sits under a wok? That's really difficult to imagine. How much water do I use? Do I use the lid of the wok? How do I clean the steamer? What keeps food from falling through the big holes? What keeps food from sticking to the rack? How hard should the water boil? Do I need to add something to the water? How do I know how long to steam the food? What sorts of food should be steamed this way? Why steam anything? Why is this clueless person smiling?

  • @kathill100

yes, it sits under a wok, that's how the Chinese have always done it. Use enough to NOT reach the vegetables. No. Water, no dishwasher. There are no big holes, there should be a tray you sit it on above the bottom. Put lettuce on the bottom, that prevents it from sticking to it AND you can eat it. Just regular boil. No. Look up specific veg. Anything can. It's healthy. No response. xD

  • @cafeko **sits ABOVE a wok, not under. xD

  • No one in China steams vegetables. We fry them in pig fat.

Bamboo steamers are only used in restaurants for steaming dim sum, bread, and buns. Things no one makes at home.

People might steam fish, but not in a bamboo steamer. In the 15 years I have lived in China, I have never met anyone who had a bamboo steamer. In fact, I wouldn't even know where to buy one.

And if you put the steamer UNDER the wok as you suggest it will go on fire.

Your ignorance is as big as your cheesy smile.

  • @liuzhou- she didn't say anything about china... ?

  • @adamc404 No, but where do woks and bamboo steamers come from?

  • @liuzhou Taiwan

  • @liuzhou

That's funny, considering rice cookers come with steamers and being in a Chinese family we eat steamed vegetables all the time. Your family must just really love fatty foods or be from the village.

  • @cafeko neither.

  • you should have also explained how much water to use, how much the water needs to be boiling, and how to clean and dry the steamer properly after usage ... i didn't find this video very useful

  • You useless idiot.

  • thank you!

  • how do i switch the light in my kitchen on?

    LOL

this is a waste of time!

  • OMG THANK YOU! Got one as a gift and had no idea what to do w/ it :)

  • oooohhh a gots it
