I have 2 pairs of Lightforce RMD lights on which has been on my car for almost 5 yrs with no probs 1 on the truck I drive which have done over 700.000km and had minor Probs and NOTHING was tto much trouble for the customer service team or warranty team and is the only multi national company that the GM came down and spoke to me face to face about an issue
@youdragon Direct through the switch...hell no. But if you power 3 relays to power the 3 lights, yes that switch will work. You should use relays anyway rather than run that kind of current through the cab of the vehicle.
I can´t remember the last time I had hammers flying around my Land Cruiser and people attacking me with shotguns...
If I were to smash the front end in a crevasse or on a icy riverbank I would break any light, Cibie, Hella, IPF, PIAA or Light Force. What I don´t like about Light Force lights are the special bulbs. If you need H1 or H3 bulbs you can always find someone who has a spare, but who carries extra LF bulbs except for a few prepared LF owners?
The video just demonstrates the fact that the Lightforce polycarbonate type lens and filter will withstand impacts that no glass lens could hope to withstand. Think of security screens, aircraft canopies etc). I can tell you as the person actually shooting the shotgun I was at 15 yards and each shot was with a load of sevens.
There is no snake oil and no claims of indestructability, just a demonstration that most others would not even contemplate. See the LIGHT LOGIC video for the bat.
its a matter of the forces involved. a peice of shot from a gun travels fast and has great penetrating power, but not a lot of kinetic energy, while the polycarbonate lenses are very hard. the hammer, however, travels much slower but builds up tremendous kinetic energy and does not rely on penetration to damage. Blunt force trauma.
Dave, what exactly were you doing when you 'hit' a concrete strainer post? And how is the retrofitting of our lights going?
As the host here says (and you well know!) nothing is indestructible but we invite anyone to let us use our baseball bat test on the front of their lights. As to that UK crew 'immitating' our test with their 'eastern bloc' tank light... Let 'Keith K' at it for 30 secs and see what happens. He is one 'touchy' marsupial on 'freeloaders' and cheap immitation.

Seriously, they are great lights. I rear ended a Lexus in my truck during a snow storm. The lights survived, can't say the same for the Lexus.

They don't cost that much you dope. I have a set of Lightforce RMDL170 'STRIKER' 170mm diameter lights, they cost about 270 for the pair.
bullpuky 2 years ago
yeah but for the same price you can get 2 or 3 sets of some other companies lights and get the wiring that comes with them.
OriginalRanger84 2 years ago
yeah man the wiring looms dont come with them just another way of making money

How come hitting a concrete strainer post at 30 klicks an hour smashes the cover then? ......
They're tough, not indestructable. I think the key words you used were: hitting a concrete strainer post at 30 klicks an hour

Convert the 170 and 240 lights into HID by buygina H3 HID kit and by using one of these adapters
(search: "Lightforce 140/170/240 H3 bulb adapter")
Convert the XGT into a HID like this:
(search "Lightforce XGT spotlight with 45 watt HID")
