I really hope that Ben could see this to show how much he is to Skillet and their fans and I hope he sees this comment cause I just wanna say, he was probably my favorite person and that he is my hero and he inspired me to start playing guitar myself and learning that him and Skillet are the only reasons I play. @vincentblast29 Well actually Johns Birthday is April 7th, your probably talking about the podcast. Yes there all still friends and will probably work together in some ways.
My dad got the chance to ask him about the whole thing, and Ben said that there were no hard feelings between him and the band, and he still jams with them sometimes when they're in the chicago area :) He left to become a producer, and to start his own recording career as a producer for other christian artists. He toured with them for a long time, and it was just time to do something else :)

He was probably the best guitarist I have ever seen. So skillful. Shame that I never got to meet him whilst at skillet. But absolutely blessed that I got to see them here in Australia before Ben left. Hope Seth Morrison can keep up the reigns.

Total shocker but it has to be hard to tour with a band with 2 women and one being married to the lead singer for tour bus reasons and the list goes on and on.Jen is cute and adorable but its no secret that Brits are hard to get along with if you don't believe everything they believe and the same goes for Americans.They seem to have good chemistry though but I am sure it was on good terms and everybody has families and must do whats best for their family so I look for both parties to move on.

I will never ever forget Ben from Skillet. I actually got to see one of his very first concerts. I still have the poster that he and the other band members signed for me. Such a talented guitarist! He will be missed.
While it is quite sad that he's leaving, this is what happens with bands. The only original band member still remaining is John Cooper! Sure their sound will change as they change and replace members, and it's sad to see people go, it's just part of the natural evolution of a band. Will miss ya, Ben! Rock on, Skillet! \m/
@mtvfanxotastic33 Well To me they will never be the "full skillet again" but they plan to move on somehow. I dont know who the new person is, i dont know if he/she is from a current band or someone unknown like Jen was. But Ben wasent the first guitarist of skillet and he wont be the last. But he definitely was/is the greatest. I know it sucks its terrible :( especially waiting to hear whats happening next. However i think John and Korey will make it right again, just a matter of time =)
@thaFalkon Yep they announced him on like March 20th, but he actually left the band within the last day or so. Ben is currently training a new guy. We'll have to see who it is

@skilletfannumberone Ya i agree, the whole band is Amazing. And seeing them was one of the best experiences of my life. I remember i told John Cooper he was my biggest influence and he hugged me haha it was totally amazing! You dont wanna miss Skillet, for me i live in CA and they make it here maybe 2-3 times a year and never really near where im at (they tour more midland then anything) but you should see them, plus stone sour will be there and there a really good band too. So Go experience it!
I just pray that God gives Ben the grace to do awesome in whatever he's pursuing now. I think I'm really concerned on what's going to happen to the Podcasts now. :o

For some reason I feel he'll still be helping out for awhile to come if not continue working with them in a ways other then guitar playing. Remember his company specializes in artist development so maybe he will continue to edit and upload the videos for the podcasts. Of course he wont be there, but maybe one day he'll return i just think you needs a break =)
yea Ben was a great part of Skillet, but nothing lasts forever, but hey look at all the good songs he's been part of, i can almost guarantee that the next guitarist won't be as good as Ben. but Skillet will remain the best band ever

But, I still can't see anyone filling Ben's shoes the way he did. He just had that presence on stage that fired up the crowd. I hate to see him go, but hopefully it for the better. God must have some amazing things planned for him in the future.
