  • Why do people make "unboxing" videos? I love the info, but do we really need to see crap come out of a package? Really?? Seriously?? We've all pulled crap out of boxes.

That said, thanks for the video...I may end up getting this combo.

  • Is the 501 a Fluid Head? I heard it was not.

  • Thanks for the advice! I have been eyeing that head for some time now so the leg suggestion was just what I needed. I ordered this same tripod =)

  • Its ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is the song at the end ? thx

  • since you can mount the arm on both sides, could you buy another one and mount both?

  • great! I've been looking for a video like this. Just one thing. What bag would you recommend for the tripod and head? Does This set up come with a bag or do i need to get them seperately?

  • How you head attached to a tripod? There are special adapters?

  • Just got the slik 700dx legs, 501hdv, and indislidermini! can't wait to make more videos. thanks! the only thing i regret is i have been reading the the 701hdv has a smoother because it has fluid cartridges or something.... and the 501hdv has teflon plates... did i make the right choice!?

  • press 7, and Listen to the wrongest thing ever, man, I bet your US quarter is Made in China®

    jk :D

    and nice video btw

  • I went and check out silk.com and manfrotto website, and for the money, that is the best you can get, and not break the budget. Waiting on delivery! Most helpful video so far on DSLR tripod section. Thank you.

  • Thanks Sam.

    Quite helpful.

  • How much weight does it support total? I want to use this with a Canon 60D setup with Red Rock Micro Material, an external LCD, and possibly a Rode Mic. Firstly, can you fit the 60D into that head and can the tripod setup support the materials I mentioned?

  • @depelated Yes - the 60D will fit nicely on the 501HDV head. The Slik 700DX legs can support up to 15 lbs (6.8 kg), and the 501HDV head weighs 3.5 lbs (1.6 kg), so as long as your camera & other stuff isn't heavier than 11.5 lbs (5.2 kg), then you should be fine.

  • @HiddenDriveways

By any chance, do you use a similar system to the one I mentioned? Have you had any success adding a Zaza slider to system?

  • hi tall does your tripod go? thanks

  • @Lampofilm the maximum height of the Slik 700DX Pro legs is 70.1" (178.0cm)

  • Hey Thanks for the terrific demo. Really helpful. Odd I have the q300s too. VERY nice camera eh? Anyway, Can I ask. How's the tripod going? Are you getting sharp images? Is it as solid a beast as it looks? I tell you , this tripod research gig is getting too much like a minefield. I'm leaning to your combo after watching this demo. Also, how's the wieght? thanks man

  • thanks

  • Thanks for review

How Slik and manfrotto head built it together

Do you have convert or not thanks.

  • @nbomberz - I'm glad you got something out of my review! You don't need to convert the Slik tripod legs to work with the Manfrotto head. The top of the Slik has a 3/8" screw, and the bottom of the 501HDV has a 3/8" thread. You just screw them together and you're good to go.
