@mwillis1000 actually im a history major at the University of Houston, its just thet the wiki page on the war is very accurate. if you want a more reliable source, the history channel (dont know if you have that in UK) did an entire documentary on the war in 2004, you can probably find it online somewhere. and "flames across the border" is an accurate book on the subject from a canadian point of view.

US conquered all of mexico in 1848, but you dont see the stars and strips flying over Guadalajara, just as UK doesnt hold a few forts scattered throughout the US heartland. and as for the land, i beleive it was that UK got the area north of maine in exchange for land in present day wyoming, which was later found to contain one of the richest iron deposits on earth

Hell our monarch doesnt even have much political power anymore anyways: George V gave those up as part of the condition to get Russia and France join in WWII along with the dismantling of the British Empire. the Queen today and the future Kings and Queens have those titles by name only.

And camo e.g. Khaki was BRITISH! Look it up. Submarines were invented by Cornelius Drebbel in the service of James I. Modern mines (Land and sea) are British. The British agricultural revolution made the industrial revolution and changed agriculture world wide, while the Arab one didnt.
