personally I thin HNK2 is up to par with HNK1, at least from the beggining to the end of shura arc.

Problem is the anime changed way too much from the manga: shortens some battles, changes pacing or scenes and shachi doesnt lose his arm and leg.

HNK2 isn't really horrible, but it's just mediocre and unexciting; the characters are just not very memorable, the story contradicts the older episodes just too much. Kaioh was also not a very good villain -- too evil for the sake of it, and the way they try to somewhat redeem him at the end is just ridiculous -- for Raoh it worked because it was clear that he was never purely evil, for Kaoih it just comes off as stupid.

Yes, HNK2 does go downhill after they arrive in Shura. The Falco storyline was great, the fights were epic, it was up there with the very best of HNK1. And story pacing and artwork are even better.

But then the Shura storyline kinda takes things too far.

@adejobi1000 No, you're not alone. The creators of the manga wrote the latter half out of contractual obligations more than anything else, which is why HNK2 has a lot of tired ideas. Kaioh's death and his mourning for his lost parent also resembles another famous HNK villain - Souther.
