  • This cover is not as bad as people make out. Okay the original captured the emotion of the Bloody Sunday atrocity beautifully; but I think Hayley has somehow managed to pull it off, its still miles worse than U2 but for a cover its not that bad. There are far far worse covers out there! At least this did the original some justice!!

  • You can see it on my nickname and on my channel: I'm a DEVOTED U2 fan.

And from the bottom of my heart: this version is not that bad.

  • Dude I don't care what anyone says, Paramore has a nice version of this. Obviously I love U2 to the death of me but Paramore didn't fuck this up... they really didn't.

  • why are we fighting and hating on each others comments?lets just listen to the amamzing song.and if you dont like it, go away.

    and never come back.

because i will not give attention to people who dont deserve it.

  • Pillar's cover its much better

  • How many years has it been since they created this cover? Well to end all of the pointless arguments, I must say that U2 did have a sense of rage/passion for their meaning of the song. Paramore payed tribute by taking it and creating a sympathetic tone for their understanding of the song. They may both share lyrics but are two different tales. And they are both great songs! Just in different ways. Now shut up and listen to the music.

  • No -.-' No Paramore, no..

  • Get this shit out of here limpdick whiny shit

  • if u think Lalo3001 and Paraleaf02 suck, like this:)

  • @PartyPoison9191 you're just too stupid to get it aint ya!

  • @MrThreeNips no i assure u i get it. btw u r tied 4 the stupidest username in the history of youtube.

  • very nice cover :D

  • Annoying U2 Fans..

  • they didn't do that bad. but the shd've kept the drum beat

  • @multibob400 they*

  • shame shame shame

  • Shut the fuck up everybody can't some one make a GOOD cover of a song? No one cares what the meaning is, quit hating because there was some "deep" meaning to it. It's a good cover. Listen to it. If you don't like it, go away. Fucking U2 fans.

  • @kietelevision "No one cares what the meaning is"

Congratulations on the most ignorant comment I've ever seen. It's meaning is pretty damn important to an entire nation.

  • @Markgangzta Hey thanks.

It's a fucking cover. As soon as someone covers the song, the meaning is gone.

  • @Markgangzta Plus, you never know if Paramore might agree.

  • @kietelevision You are totally right! :)

  • @Shadowdarkness120 THANK YOU. :D

  • @kietelevision Google "Bloody Sunday", you'll see why people care about the meaning of this song so much.

  • @Jakeshomevideos I now know the meaning and I apologize for making statements about how the meaning doesn't matter.

  • 151 ppl is jealous.

  • Adoro sta cancion c;

  • funeral for a friend does a badass cover of sunday bloody sunday

  • U2 and Paramore were amazing at this song, they are both talented. It's just which version you prefer. Maybe U2 is too rock for you and you want a softer song. It's your musical taste, no one is better.

  • opinions... opinions everywhere

opinions are like dicks you can have them but dont go shoving them down people's throats

  • Idk wtf everyones problem is, I still feel sorrow in the song and I feel that Paramore did an amazing job.

    From A Parawhore♥

  • Mucho mejor la versión de Pillar a mí parecer...

  • Well i am a Paramore fan, and i think that this cover is better then the original version that U2 sings.. Soz ;) Everyone has his own opinion :P

  • @Shadowdarkness120 you probably never even heard the fucking original version

  • @DeathToTaigs Yes well I have heard the original and for me the singing is to quite compared to the instrumentals. I personally like this version better simply cause I think it fits the lyrics better.

    -Xena-

  • @DeathToTaigs HAHAHAHAHAH, I have heard the orginal version ;p , and i think this one is much better, but yeah thats my opinion. :PP

  • Na I think U2 do this song much better

  • I love Paramore and I love U2 too. I think this song it's amazing, no matter who sings it. Just enjoy Hayley's voice! If you dislike her go to listen Bono's version instead of posting stupid shits.

  • argue all you want...the geoege bush version is clearly the best

  • The U2 version is sooooo muuuch better...

  • I'm a massive paramore fan and im also irish so ive growen up to this song allmost and forever one to be arugeing over whos covers better this song was wrote for the troubles anhor story behind it is: that one day in croke park during a football match the britsh troops came in and shot 1 player and 2 vewiers 60 were

hurt guys this song has many storys behind it another is : 1916 easter SUNDAY marked the day that ireland fought for freedom ..on this day men, women.kids blood was shed.

  • Paramore's has a more sorrow-ish feel to it.

  • Doesn't mean you shouldn't cover a song because it's not gonna be as good as the original

  • Its a joke that people are having a go at them for covering this. U2 are a bunch of pretentious, preachy arseholes. But this is one song that I can't fault them for. Paramore did an excellent job at this and it's clear that they understand the meaning of the song because 1. You can hear it in her voice and 2. Paramore are a band that hold charities and world peace and whatever else your gran likes very closely. All these little trolls who are givin' it "Oh the originals so much better" So what?

  • You should NEVER cover this song unless u fully understand what the songs about!!!

  • Its a joke that they covered this song!!!

  • I think Paramore's version is very heartfelt and I think that I can relate to theirs more than I can U2's. Just saying.

  • In the original, you could feel the utter rage, disgust of British troops gunning down innocent civiians in Northern Ireland. That song had passion and a call to arms. It was raw, filled with a sense of sorrow and outrage. Old U2 (not the media ho's of today) had a masterpiece!

As for this song, well........this band, "Paramore", really had no business remaking this song. All the meaning, passion is totaly lost. It sounds any other, prissy, whiney indie rock song.

  • @Lalo3001 question. why r u trolling on this? if u dont like it why r u even here? a few more things.

if it dint have meaning with paramore THEY WOULDNT COVER IT

the meaning 2 a song is diff 2 everybody

paramore is not a "media ho" U2 is in the media more than paramore

paramore is not prissy. nor r they indie rock. they are alt rock/ punk rock.

    thanx 4 ur time:)

  • @Lalo3001 A band can cover whatever they want. U2 sucks

  • @Lalo3001 I have to disagree with you. I heard this song first and when I learned it was a cover by another artist, I immediately looked it up. I was amazed by how positive the original sounded. I personally believe that this one has more meaning to it by the feel of the song.

  • @Lalo3001 you should just shut up. if you think the original is better then why are you listening to Paramore's version if you think they "really had no business" to remake this song. And us Paramore fans don't really care if they do or don't have any business remaking songs. I think its good.

  • @Lalo3001 they werent remakeing it they were trying to show there love for the song in there own way no one can replace U2's version but gosh u dont have to be so mean paramore is a good band c:

  • @Lalo3001 wussup hater

  • Comment removed

  • I love Paramore but really...they took away all the meaning of this song and turned it into an annoying song..

  • @Paraleaf02 totally agreed. imma go listen to u2

  • Not a fan of U2, so I think this is amazing in my opinion.

  • @LeetTemujin I pity your country was in the soviet union you communist bastard

  • @Stevenbfg and you're saying he had shite comebacks...

can we all shut up and do what we came here to do?

I.e. LISTEN TO THE DAMN SONG!?

  • @DantesTear aww isnt that nice all homo paramore fans stick together

  • @Stevenbfg Haha. I'm not a homosexual and I love Paramore. Our fanbase is called the ParaFamily. Wouldn'y you stick next to your family and your fan base? GOML. IMO, Paramore sang this with more sadness which is what it should be about really. Not some people jumping about with an joyous, upbeat tone and a tune as if it's good what actually happened on Bloody Sunday. Go away if you're not here to appreciate the music. Music isn't a competition, it's a way of expressing yourself.

  • Comment removed

  • @Stevenbfg I actually just like this cover by paramore, i wouldn't call myself a "fan"

I've never seen them in concert, don't own any of their CD's..

So no, i'm not a homo, i'm just somebody with an IQ higher than that of a chipmunk. I'm guessing the best of you ran down the side of your fathers leg?

  • Comment removed

  • @Stevenbfg lol homo paramore fans

    You're a joke.

  • @LeetTemujin go suck your mouse....what a shite insult you emo cunt (;

  • WONDERFUL!

  • this is a cover of a u2 song. COVER. paramore did their own version of the song. people have different opinions. e.g. mine is that u2's version is amazing and meaning full. yet the paramore version is more peaceful and beautiful. let people have their own opinions..

  • U2 Buddiee!!!!(;

Fuck Paramore! i love 'em but seriously, to them the song is meaningless [not litteraly-.-), to U2 this is for the Irish and has a meaning and an effect!!!

    Yeaaaah Buddiee!!! U2 FTW!!!!:D

  • Who cares where Hayley's from!? That doesn't mean she doesn't get just as much emotion out of this song as U2 did. That's the amazing thing about music, Hayley Williams, a girl from the Deep South, is able to connect with a song written about the troubles 1,000s of miles away in Northern Ireland. It's amazing.

  • @aishk97 As is with anything. I hail from Australia, but I am extremely passionate about things such as bloody Sunday, Gallipoli, the abolition of slavery and WW2 like no one would ever believe, unless you've seen me talk about it.

Doesn't matter who you are, where you're from. If you believe in something, understand it, have a passion for it, share it! That's all she has done here. Some people may not like it as much as others, but I think it is just a passion outlet for her

  • It's easier to kill than to create.

  • pillar anyone? the rather more "heavy version of it"

  • @sgtstoopid more like U2!!! who the fuck are pillar

  • I love U2 and all, but i personally think Paramore did a better job. :/ They are one of my favourite bands. {I mean paramore} This however does no give them browny points. Hayley's singing is enchanting and it makes you feel more connected to the song... It sounds as though it is suposed to be a slowly sung song. Not a scream-down-the-micro-phone-song... I LOVE PARAMORE.

  • Comment removed

  • @Stevenbfg It's what i think... It dosent mean you hate to be a bastard about it,

  • I miss this Hayley's voice.

  • This song = The ONLY good song about the days of the week.

  • I dont like mondays the boomtown rats

  • The version of u2 and pillar are the best version, this,is the shit --'

  • @Dragochaos The Pillar version its shit.

    U2 SONG best of all

  • @hitsbam Yes u2 its best but the modern version of pillar is good

  • Love's not a competition, but I'm winning.

  • who cares who's better. i happen to think paramore did an amazing job, and you can hear the passion in her voice while she she sings this song. it's about the music, not a competition..

  • awesome :D

  • crappest to the best ......paramore, thn U2, and the best version is Pillar

  • @blakenieve I like both U2's and Pillar's <3 :-)

  • @blakenieve true words :)

  • @blakenieve bullshit U2 sing it with more passion and more rage which is how your supposed to sing it considering what the song is about, obviously you as a yank wouldn't know

  • @Stevenbfg It doesn't HAVE to have rage. I think Paramore does it in a world-weary way, which is also appropriate for the subject matter. It gives the song a whole new perspective, which I can appreciate.

  • @Stevenbfg Fuck you lil bitch. paramore rules :D <3

  • @Crazy0Jay0Dude0 ah go cut yourself you emo cunt (;

  • @Stevenbfg Why are you so rude? It's opinion! No one really positivly cares about the story behind it. Its about 11 people being shot. Yeah we get it! So, you dont need to go around abusing people for what they think. You are just being a prick. Seriously, what would you do if someone call you retarded and all that because you liked a song sung differently than how it was originally?! Besides it's hardly any of your business if people prefer it sung that way! Seriously, mind your own buisness!

  • @Stevenbfg oh my gosh you are like a total d-bag. id slap u in yo deformed face and kick you u in da balls.. if u had any... .... .... bitch

  • @Crazy0Jay0Dude0 now now everybody knows inbreeding is only popular in belgium which explains why you're all such ugly cunts (; and someone who listens to paramore is either a idiotic teenage girl or a complete faggot who's balls have yet to drop, which one are you inbred?

  • @Stevenbfg I dare you to write that on a real paramore video, then we'll see who has balls.

  • Comment removed

  • @Stevenbfg that actually hurts but i see where your going with this

  • @Stevenbfg when did it become not okay to cover a song?

  • @Stevenbfg Yes that is how is it supposed to be sung as that is the ORIGINAL version. This is Paramores take on the song and nothing more...

  • The paramore version is by far the best version yet.

  • @PartyTimePink nice joke

  • I love Paramore, but this cover just doesn't sound right.

  • So much better than fucking U2 hahah

  • @SophieInDigital great joke

  • @Stevenbfg great comment.nice comment

  • Awful cover.

  • i wonder do they even know what the songs about? either way, they got it wrong, the tempos way to slow and downbeat.

  • Ug... O.o

  • Way to make a powerful song completly boring, and emotionless.

  • you know, i have to admit, people who fight about videos on U2 covers and maybe stevie wonders,

alot less juvenile and ridiculous then those on, well i dont know, maybe a justin bieber video lol

hi five to us all being mature adults!

  • @MatthieuMarcotte im not a adult, but im mature enough to post a comment that is respectful. I guess i dont act my age.

  • I think you all are idiots. A band wouldn't just cover a powerful song without knowing any of the history behind the lyrics. So I'm sure they know. And you paramore fans who are getting all butthurt by people saying it sucks get over yourselves. People can think whatever they freely want too. If you don't want to hear it, don't read it. You're only fueling the fire by responding to them. If you like it listen to it, if you don't who cares. really.

  • i cant believe the shite i am hearing with paramore the u2 version may well be better but listen to the original version of sunday bloody sunday that was writen by john lennon and covered by the wolfe tones

  • @aoifeC100 I think the rendition they delivered on Rattle and Hum (only hours after the Enniskillen bombing) is probably the greatest individual performance of any song I've ever seen. U2 always said it was not sectarian and they didn't really support anyone on either side who was killing others.

  • @CultMagazine um..

    Congratulations, you just shamed ireland.

  • Pura y fisica mierda, las banditas de maricas de hoy en dia no deberian ponerse a tirarse la buena musica...

  • @DmScenekid1 I commented because I couldn't believe how horrible this was, and as far as getting a life, maybe you should consider the quality of yours if you find it necessary to defend this song as if it was something even remotely close to tolerable noise.

  • @dylans2rents It's a COVER. NO NEED TO CALL IT "NOISE." Most of the people that are on this video are PARAMORE SONGS. No one really cares if you hate it, who are you to all of us? The Queen of England?

  • @americanmouth15 IMO this is crap. End of story. And before you start screaming at people in capital letters, maybe you should learn to proofread your posts. People are songs? lmao

  • @dylans2rents I MEANT "FANS"...no need to make a smart remark before you really understand what I meant. by the way, I wasn't 'screaming' over the internet. If I was, it would look like this: "ITS A ******* COVER MORON!!!!!!!!!" which is what I really meant to say, but I'm a nice person. At LEAST it's better than all that mainstream pop **** that's #1 on the charts nowadays.....

  • @americanmouth15 I know what you meant...that's why I said proofread. *sigh* don't get your panties all in a bunch. So, is the fact that this is a cover the reason it's okay to be horrible? Still trying to figure out your angle...

  • @dylans2rents It's not as bad as most covers, true, it's not as good as the original, but everybody is gonna have their own opinion, right? haha wtf....you typed sigh? What was the point of that?

  • @americanmouth15 How can people be Paramore songs?

  • @gameaddict51 haha,no...just no :) that's not what I meant....i corrected myself under that comment so you can read it for yerself.....

  • @americanmouth15 Yeah I know. But no offence, that's a really funny mistake you made.

  • @gameaddict51 yeah, well that's a really dumb comment. I don't proifread....it's a waste of time

  • Comment removed

  • Paramore sucks asshole.

  • @ZabraLionsGoMeow then why the fuck would you even comment? -.-

  • @MrUlini Because I can :) And I am given the right to post my opinion whether is is negative or positive. In this case it's negative. Freedom of speech bitch. Deal with it.

  • U2 <3

  • Everytime I hear this some of the day my dad died. I was the worst sunday of life. :( Lifes a bitch sometimes.

  • this song wasn't the greatest by U2, but this version sounds like a goat getting slaughtered! Horrible!!!!!!

  • @dylans2rents Why comment. Go get a life.

  • @CultMagazine I used Irish Republicanism as an example of how it does not only apply to Irish. And infact I am certain there were supports of the civil rights movement all around the world who campaigned for it so are they not allowed to replicate it? By your perspective Labi Siffre shouldn't be allowed to sing something inside so strong as it is written about South African aparthied.

  • Who cares who sings it!? or what race/heritage they are?! I think Hayley did an awesome job. I feel the emotion in her voice while singing it and really, that's all that matters...

  • This band sucks. Acoustic guitar and lazy whiny voice? YUCK

  • @CultMagazine Don't be so narrow minded and infact near racist, many people who were not Irish have supported republicanism since its begginning. Think about the people learning what happened by watching the video reading the comments.

  • perfect (:

  • Hayley *O*♥

  • I think Pillar has a better version but this is ok

  • @OpticAgentStuey You know who I think has a better version? U2

  • The original U2 version is way better

  • @213spidermonkey haters ganna hate

  • @213spidermonkey if that's what you think...then why are you here listening to paramore's version?
