i have very nice well taken care of s&W 10mm model 1076 fbi model with hump back swell grips this very nice shooting gun very powerfull and acurate not low ball the 45. caliber but 10mm is alot more acurate with rite ammo and recomend not using lead tip ammo threw it as led like have small pigments sticking in bore shoot good ammo dont be cheap!! and your 10mm will impress you like mine has if looking for one i have nice one very well taken care of !!
How do you like this gun? I am really thinking about buying one. He is selling it for $700 with 4 mags and a box of ammo. Do you think that is a good deal?
@nollix LOL my old man looks at the .40 with interest(thinks it's the best compromise between 9mm Luger and .45 ACP). I prefer the .45 ACP myself. I would like to have a go with 10mm but I don't have a 10mm pistol. :(
I have the Glock 20 and 29 and they are great. The 10mm is an awesome round. I almost bought the S&W 1006 years ago but got the 4506 instead. Wish I would have bought both. The ONLY thing I don't like about the Smith is the low capacity single stack mag. There seems to be a renewed interest in the 10mm so hopefully Smith will bring it back, maybe in the M&P series, with a higher capacity and/or sub-compact model.
I am very impressed with them, I have recovered several fired rounds fired into water jugs and they mushroomed perfectly. Even being a relatively old design they still perform admirably compared to today's latest. I was firing at a silhouette target from about 7 yards. All were kept in the torso. At that speed, that's all that matters!
Well, S&W 10mms have been out of production for 12-15 years. You will have to keep an eye on the various web based gun boards. the 1006 was the model that was the most numerous followed by the 1076 and 1066. Expect to pay $500 on the lowest end to $1000 on the top end for a rare mint one with box, manual, and a couple mags.
I just picked up a S&W 1076 (virtually the same gun) and I am very anxious to see how well it fires.
I do have one question. What load were you firing? I don't mean to be rude, but your return to "rest" is very quick, and because of this, I have my doubts you were using +p loads (the muzzle flash is equivalent to 40 S&W as well). If you were though, quite impressive. :)
They are box stock winchester silvertips. They, next to Gold Dots and Corbon DPX. I have 40s, 45s, 9s, 357s and 44s. Only the 357s and 44s muzzle flash like my 10mm! Bare in mind that most 10mm loads are very underpowered but Winchester STs perform very well. Doubletap ammo with Speer GDs are flat out AWESOME...
Ahh...I remember you. You are from "Fun With Guns" video. I challenge you to point out a safety violation in MY vid. YOU can't. Yours on the other hand, was FULL of them and that doesn't even count you complete lack of proper shooting technique...Sour grapes, my friend, does not make for good wine. ;)
Jesus thats loud. But most guns of that size are loud

now, lets see your target, any joe can fire a weapon fast, but it takes skill to actually have said weapon aimed and still firing fast.

10mm is an awesome caliber. We're moving a ton of it these days thanks to the surge in gun sales.

10mm Auto is a true man's round. FBI are pussies for choosing .40S&W.

Double Tap is indeed awesome ammo, I recently bought a box of their 230 gr. hard cast, and out of my S&W 610, awesome is an understatement.
