  • where can i find information on the move you did

    6:00 - 6:10

  • To clarify: "buzzsaw weave" is the same as "notcoleman3", you could look at it as a same-side inswing. What you called notcoleman3 in this vid, ie a crossed-side inswing ins sometimes called the "wrong weave".

  • Thank you for the clarification AlienJon. I knew I was off with terminology. I'll correct that in my next video.

  • so that's how introverted atomics are made! I just couldn't get a hold of them beforehand

  • "forward" introverted atomics lol. They are a tad bit elusive, especially since I don't think there are any easily findable video's on that stuff. I have to dig up REV's old old old pre manifesto stuff...

  • However thats on the outside..... hahaha I love that part. Thanks man for this video. I realized I've been doing the atomic weave for awhile now. one thing though.. any chance you could make a tutorial for the notcoleman3? I'm having trouble connecting it. I believe atomics and trinity's are the next step in my spinning career. Cheers!

  • definitely! I plan on getting out tomorrow afternoon and redoing this [ from a who do to "reverse" atomic perspective ]. I'll on reverse, while re-emphasizing forward and how to move the atomic around...going from wheel, to wall, to ceiling plane while not really spinning my body.

I also want to get some good demo vids on stall plane bending and alot of the stall paths I've been working on.

  • thanks for this video. i realize that mine was pretty off to say the least, this is a much better explination.

    great video

  • Sweet! You're the atomic master in my mind, this is some great stuff here man, I'll definitely have to try some of this stuff over the weekend. And those poi are badass. Thanks again man.

  • You are too kind sir! However, I fancy myself no master, especially one over such a wonky driving form as atomics lol. Though I admit, I have a bit of a knack for it.

I'm glad that you were able to pick something up from this video that got the gears turning. And speaking of gears...Im working on breaking through to alot of the butterfly cateye atomic variations but I haven't made any head way because I haven't completely wrapped my mind around micro 3D plane bendy point stalls XD

  • Hell man, even back in the day with all those different atomic variations you did, I would have to save the video, slow it down and try to break it down piece by piece before I could learn the move, I have no idea how to come up with such stuff, seriously.

Oh, and could you translate "micro 3D plane bendy point stalls" for me? lol.

  • Back in the day, when the gears were turning furiously haha.

Have you been watching any of G's stuff or Cyrille? The 3D Point Stalls are Micro stalls at various main clock point locations that are used to change planes with each stall.

The whole concept being that at any of the main points [ 12, 3, 6 or 9 ] you can bend the plane to any other corresponding point and flow from same time to opposite at will. In doing so, you drastically alter the ratio of permutations exponentially.

  • Hey, sorry for the slow response, I don't have internet at my new place. I understand what Point Stalls are and how they can be utilised in plane changing, but what're micro-stalls? I have a feeling I know what they are too, but you guys use different terminology that I'm used to, and I like to learn it all, it's like a new language.

  • To be completely honest, there is almost no difference at all. Its sorta like in all the introverted stuff how you can bend the planes and there is a point as the poi slows down almost to the point of stalling, but it bends through that stall point. If a Stall is defined as a definitive stop in motion, then the "micro stall" would be defined as a significant reduction in speed, while bending through a stall point. Savy? lol

  • Nice one man :D

  • wow nice tutorial

    well done

  • So i just learned the atomic weave and its all cuz of you. Holy crap I've been waiting to this move for so long!

  • I'm glad I could be of assistance! There will be more videos to come! If there is anything that you haven't seen done or want something re-explained, let me know =]

  • good video!!!

  • geat job thx for the video

  • some great stuff there, i might have to give a video response because i do my inversions without shifting my body and so i cant tell if its the same thing as what ur doing and i just want to clarify coz the person who taught me it said it was an inversion but it doesnt look like yours as far as i can tell great stuff, also i was wondering in your next part if you might be able to go through the reverse 3 bt atomic weave coz im stumped and cant find anything on it on utube

  • The Buzzsaw weave is 1 step into an inversion and 1 step away from an inversion. Its not a complete barrel roll, only half of one. An "Inverted" weave would be a weave that you barrel roll through constantly.

And yes, I'll go over the reverse counterparts. Mind you, with atomics direction is completely relative. Forward and Reverse can be used as points of reference, but when you are doing stuff like the Introverted Weave, direction becomes slightly less applicable lol.

  • ah i see so when the arms cross in that weave motion only one hand inverts and the other hand does it on the opposite side while the poi are in butterfly buzzsaw formation, is that right?

and ye i understand direction is abit strange when dealing with atomics due to the poi essentially doing different motions and i was arguing with my friend the other day about this, can they cant actualy be called forwards or backwards weaves even though one hand is doing those motions

  • To answer your first question, essentially yes.

With atomics, you're dealing with relativity directly. Position in space defines orientation which contributes to how you relate to the poi themselves and how the poi relates to the environment around it. That being said, direction begins to matter less and you find yourself less bound within and by the parameters of static movement.

  • cool cool vid! lots of karma going on here, since on two of my lasdt convention i wanted to ask hannes vom austria ä(maybe you know him) about atomics but didn't find the time, then las weekend i asked alien jon on his workshop in berlin about it, but again we didn't get to do atomics. and now you come here, all structured and neat! i like! ^^ and i look forward to more atomic basics :3 keep it up!

  • I'll have to look that individual up as I am not familiar with them. And its a shame you and AlienJon didn't get a chance to do some good geeking. I really miss that guy and he's one of the main reasons I am still spinning.

Theres a whole host of other stuff out there regarding atomics and just what happens during atomics. I feel that atomics gives way to a particular Nexus point. That being the point where you can pull any move out of or any move can flow into it.
