Oh my gosh don't you just LOOOOOVE how Devons play fetch like that? It's my favorite thing! Mine used to always drop her toys behind my back when I was sitting in my computer chair and I didn't know (they were those bread twist-ties so they're too light to notice) until when I'd stand up, I'd have like 5 cat toys in the seat of my chair because she was trying to get me to throw them for her! Soooo cute!!!

My black Devon Rex variant does this with a ball of tin foil, he is 4 months old and started bringing the tin foil back 3 times max, then recently, he brought it back 14 times in a row, we had to stop cos we were laughing too much :D

I had a sylvester cat who'd slap me five, both high and low. One day, he was sitting next to me on the couch. I put out my hand and he patted it almost immediately. He got to where he'd do it on command, "Gimme five!" When I tried for a high five, he caught on right away. I put almost no effort into teaching it to him. He was a smart little dude.

hehe.. i have orange tabby, and he plays fetch with me since he was kitten. He likes to bring things to me, then he puts them on my feet and if I don't throw them he gently nibbles on my feet. Each time i throw the toy he makes funny sounds and takes off only to return with toy in his teeth:P

My curtains and wallpaper is gone, despite all the possible claw sharpening things i got him... he is also very curious and few times he took bath with me:P

@cloman81 ....yeah ''Chattering'' the first time i saw my late Rex doing it as a kitten i thought he'd gone mad. common trait. whenever they see a bird they do it. the great thing about Rex was although he was an amazing mouser he never once caught a bird in his 13 years despite there being loads of blackbirds, tits, robins, wrens and thrushes here in our comunal garden :-)

Our black smoke monkey is 5 yo and she still goes coo coo bananas. Fetches as well from time to time. She is our home circus and a mood doctor. Black smoke is the most suitable color for those sweet, delicate devils :)

Yes I know what you mean - ours do it to. We call in 'chunttering' - they sort of chatter their teeth and make a funny noise when they see moths and flies and things like that!! They are weird animals!

What a beautiful cat! I've always had a weakness for "oriental" looking cat varieties. I have a Siamese cross that fetches. Mojo is solid black and the littlest fur-covered ninja I've ever met...7lbs. I find oriental varieties to be the most intelligent felines by far.

My god man, it's all very well to let cats do what they like--but not that. I sometimes see cats run over by cars---a result of their owners with the attitude of "they can do what they want".

Tell you what: get a bowl and arrange rocks/bricks around it to make it untippable, and to allow the cats to climb onto for a drink.

Now thats just cruel. What if they couldnt get in? I have one cat thats so old its hard for her to climb stuff. Like I said THEY DO IT WHILE IM NOT HOME!!!! and when I am home I stop them and get them water.And what if they got stuck or if the bricks got knocked down and hurt the other cat. I dont even let them outside because I dont want them getting hurt. The only time I do is when I take them out front with their leash and collar so they can play.

Wow another one that does it! My devon plays fetch too. His fave is small screwed up balls of paper. When he's had enough of the game he drops the paper in his water bowl, uses his paw to fish it out then eats it! Devons are the best, aren't they?!

She may be pregnant. Cat's become v. sensitve to being handled when they're pregnant--obviously an instinctive urge to give the unborn kittens maximum protection.

Ah thanks so much - he is so cute but he is a flippin monkey!! We have two like this - one developed the traditional teddy bear coat and this one stayed really short. He kind of taught me to play fetch actually - we have to play every night else he is a nightmare!!! Look at the other video of him playing with a balloon - it's short but hilarious! Merry Christmas!

My mom and dads old rex used to do that too with crumpled up "winston cigarete packs" he'd do it and then if my dad didnt throw it again he'd push his head HARD into my dads chin, finally they got annoyed with Boozies persistance and tied it to a string on the door lol
