for me i will choose strike fredom full burst mode 1st because the price stands on the quality next it comes with a stand last its a very wonderful kit MG wing gundam is cool too
i dont have the wing gundam MG, so i cant give an opinion on your MG of the year, but i would personally say ReZel is my MG of the year, its a nice kit, not too expensive, no problems with loose parts, good incorporation of the transformation, not alot of accesories, but the few it has are quite nice and no painfully obvious nub marks. the only problem i have with it is that a small piece cracked when i removed excess plastic
@7kiku7honda7japan thats fair enough, having now seen a MG wing, i do say it looks very nice and refined, however the yellow plastic and frame colour do look pretty bad imo.
@L2W272 I do agree the yellow does kinda get on your nerves after a while, but the frame is AMAZING. Have you seen one in person? The gunmetal glossy color on the inner frame is amazing looking!
Good call for the Wing as your MG of the year. I'm also considering the wing as my MG for the year 2010 given the choice between The-0, Quan[T] and ReZel. I'm not including the Deathscythe because I don't have one yet.
RG RX would have to be the kit of the year. It basically embodies the evolution of Gunpla, the evolution of the 1/144th scale mobile suit. From less than 10 pieces of plastic to a kit with a full inner frame and hundreds of detailed pieces. I do agree with you on the MG of the year though. Wing had a lot of new engineering in it that seperated itself from the others. I would also consider the 00Q because it truly is a magnificent kit at 4500yen.
Yes but to me... if you need to glue pieces on just to keep them on it's not worthy of being called a "Kit of the Year"... to be a kit of the year you definitely need to be able to keep your armor bits on without to aid of an adhesive.
@GundamLegacyExtreme Well that is just your opinion and I stand strong by mine and wont let a few loose pieces skew my impressions of the RG line and that is because all kits have loose pieces, it's inevitable. If you are truly passionate about this hobby you should be able to look beyond this small issue and see it for the master piece that it is.
I'm not trying to change your views I'm just giving my two cents on it. Personally IN MY OPINION for a kit to be kit of the year it must not have the major flaw of panels falling off, it must not require an adhesive to keep panels on, it must look amazing even if not painted up the wazoo, and it must have accessories that do not overpower the kit . the real grade does have many of those but the panels falling off just get at me too much, I just touch it and the shoulder armor falls.
@GundamLegacyExtreme Well I really don't see any other kit that has impressed me more than the RG. PG SF is okay, MG Wing was good but has it's flaws, MG The O lacked detail, MG 00Q has weight issues. So, to me nothing sums up the year more than the RG. Of course it is only my opinion but nothing else stacked up to the RG.
The only flaw I see with MG Wing was the Baby pegs that hold the arms up that is the same flaw I see with MG DS EW other than those baby pegs for arms I don't see much flaw to them. MG 00Q's flaw was the backpack and everything revolving around it, other than that it's an amazing kit form what i've see (I do own one). To me the kit of the year is... i'll keep that for my vid response.
The RG RX-78-2; no two ways about it. There's absolutely no competition. For its price, everyone should pick it up and see just how far gunpla has come; maybe pick up a 1980's non-snap-fit kit for comparison.
As for the MG, what's the verdict on the ReZEL? I haven't really been following the kit, so I can't say it's better than the Wing, but Wing just seemed a little tame to be called kit of the year, in my opinion. Great kit, but I'm slow to call it kit of the year for some reason or another.
Kit of the year, if we're using your criteria, will definitely have to be the RG RX-78-2. aT 2500 yen, it not only sport ridiculously good details and quality, but is also very affordable.
Kit of the year has to go to mg wing gundam I enjoyed that kit so much it was a rare first day buy for me I wait to see reviews before I buy not for wing gundam lol anyways happy holidays jabman
My choice for MG kit of the year: Astray Red Frame. One of the handsomest gundam, superb articulation, bad ass weapons, and overall (IMO) looks much better than the PG version. Pricing is reasonable cos it's one of the earlier MGs in the year before Bandai progressively upped prices.

I'd have to say no on the Real grade, YES it embodied the evolution of Gunpla... but it has too many armor pieces falling off.
GundamLegacyExtreme 1 year ago
@GundamLegacyExtreme That isn't a big issue because you can always apply a small amount of cement to loose pieces, not that difficult to fix.
