buddy u just waste your money, I dont mean to be a pain or a hater but the quality you can get out of that camera is way better than what u are showing, video quality looks like a blackberry telephone not a good video to show the canon xha1 you should check your settings and at least record in HD which is this camera made for, remember is a video camera not a still photos camera I saw u took some pictures pls don`t waste ur time doing that.
Damn... I need to get one of these cameras. I actually found you while going through a couple of turntable videos. If you're still having problems with your records skipping I can probably help you.
Well, luckily, the problems with it skipping have stopped for a while, I think someone must have busted my stylus. I bought a replacement for my M44-7 and it's been good since. Although I don't think I've got the tonearm balanced very well.
I would recommend the XH-A1 over the FX7 for a couple of reasons. The first reason is that the FX7 doesn't have the 24f option like XH-A1, but the downside to the 24f is you need Final Cut Pro to be able to edit it properly. The second reason the XH-A1 is better is that it uses three 1/3" CCD chips whereas the FX7 uses three smaller 1/4" CMOS chips.
The video was shot in 24f on several different occasions so the settings weren't always the same, but for the most part it was in automatic mode and the Auto Gain Control was on and so was the Auto White Balance. I think one shot I used the ND filter, but other than that, is was pretty much new out of the box.

Don't mean to be a jerk but this video looks horrible.
Why post it if you don't post in HD? It is an HD camera isn't it?
Love to hear back from you.

Yeah, the only problem is I think I might have deleted the original file. If I do come across it, I'll be sure to upload it =)

you are giving the camera a bad name with that hand held jerky movements.

this looks like a home video off a 200 camcorder.

Damn looks nice. Would you say you can get that nice bokeh effect without a 35mm adapter? Im still wondering about this camera or a Sony V1u!
AkojiNBP 3 years ago
I actually didn't use any adapters. I made this the same day I got it, so it was new out of the box.

Also, the XH-A1 has way more manual settings to get the picture you want just right. I hear that Canon lenses are also better.

ok thank you...
Anyway i havn't Final Cut, i usually Premiere Pro to edit my videos, do you think it'll not work well with 24f?
Kappei15 4 years ago
I've never used Premiere Pro before, so I would suggest researching weather or not it's compatible with it before you buy a $3500 paper weight.
Kittensaremegasilly 4 years ago
The XH-A1 is perfectly compatible with Premiere Pro. Adobe even put out an update with a special preset for HDV with Canon cameras.

Oh and to upload it onto YouTube, I exported it using QuickTime conversion in Final Cut Express to high quality and with dimensions of 320 X 240
