  • This is the original version of "Moody River" that Pat Boone covered and had a number one hit with on the pop charts in 1961, it later hit the country charts on 6/20/70 for Chase Webster on the Show Biz label, in 1961 it was released on the Southern Sound label, after this single he started recording for Dot records that Pat Boone was recording on and he was from Nashville, Tennessee where Pat Boone was from.

  • In my opinion, this was definitely better than the Pat Boone version, and ironically, this was the version played on WKDA radio in Nashville when I worked there -- even though Pat Boone was a part-owner of the station.
