I played this game for SNES and it's awesome, even if Richter can't run. He doesn't run because he is such a badass. The first boss was Cerberus in SNES, not the dragon and the sea snake.
That door is actually the main exit. I mean, it's really alternative when you break a wall to make another route.
I'm saving up for a PSP and PS3. The two games im getting for the PSP are "Metal Gear" and "Castlevania". The two PS3 games im getting are "Batman Arkham Asylum" and something else.

I don't really like remakes like this, i personally don't fall for the flashy and unnecessary random 3D cinematics. :\

@windwakerdeity No you can't whip in all 4 directions and it is pretty challenging but this is the first castlevania I have played besides the first, but it is still fun and you can unlock symphony of the night so I recommend it.

holy crap dude, almost all the castlevania games are absolute rape, whether or not they have Alucard. It was ONE game. It was a good copy of metroid, with some snazzy music and voices. But other versions are just as good or better. Even die hard Ocarina of Time fans can say other Zelda games are good too.
For a SNES game Dracula X is in no means a bad game. Graphically and sound/music wise its one of Super Nintendo's finest games. People just rag on it because it wasn't the same as Rondo of Blood. Its a good game and it cool cos its not a carbon copy of Rondo of Blood.
This game was fucking hard but I loved it. The gameplay wasn't what I expected (I like the metroid style gampeplay) but it was still fun and I made the most of it. Besides, you also get SotN, so why complain? For the price it's worth every fuckin penny.
dude, did you knew that if you don't take ANY special item (axe, cross, holy water, etc.) the item crush is the lost Fire Killer? (it just set's the chain on fire and makes only 1 attack, the fire chain appeared for last time in CastleVania 2 I think, and it was an upgrade), it's a pretty sweet item crush, takes only 15 hearts
they should indeed make another. but focus on the fun favtor and add the graphics second . 3D is good and this was a good step in the right direction. but GI game it a 7. and contra shattered soldier a 8. for god knows why couse that game gets a 9 from me. they probably thought this was to hard or something. well if its a old school remake. of chourse its going to be hard.

The 3d didnt look that entertaining. I like games with good graphics but when games are made strictly for eye candy and not for play it ruins the title. I prefer SOTN just because your character is able to bounce around a bit. And the fact that no matter how old the game gets, the graphics will look the same becasue its a cartoon, while 3d will eventually look crappy like the ps1. The ps1 use to look awesome to me, now when i look at it, its like "theres no way it looked like this."
What, the normal exit is hacking through stone walls, jumping down high falls, hacking some more hidden passages through stone walls.. and the ALTERNATIVE exit is.. just through a door?
Actually, just to clarify. Rondo and Symphony are unlocked by getting the Icons for the respective games out of hard to reach breakable containers during DXC gameplay.

It is in my version of the game. I've got the remake, and the way that the player went is the same way I went to get to the wyvern, mabey it's different in the original.
Yeah, it's just a reassignment of theme songs, (I got the game, hahaha!) so I like reassigning the songs myself to set my mood in playing this game over and over again!
Actually, this preview is over a year old. Richter says "Divine Storm" when he uses the Axe item crash and the song was only supposed to be a filler. Plus a few minor SFX missing as well.
The reassign thing is a really nice addition. I'm just mad that you can't assign Stage 0 with any music.
Are you sure Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is including the Sega Saturn version of Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight and NOT the Sony Playstation version!?

Look, a system doesn't HAVE to be innovative to be great. Just because PSP isn't innovative doesn't automaticly mean it's inferior to the DS. The reason it is, however, is because it lacks good and unique games. That's all. I'd prefer the DS any time, but PSP does have potential as well.

Richter's theme wasn't remade at the time when this and the second stage demos were released but this song was so they put it on this stage but when the is out Richter's theme will be on it.

Pffft, that's just bullshit. Consoles are made for gaming. All the other companies market their consoles as "highly advanced multimedia devices" yet they still don't have any good games. Nintendos consoles may not have all the cool features that the others offer, but they still have a huge variety of great games.

GBA had two great Metroid -games, that were a reason enough to buy it. And most of the PSP -games are nothing new as well. Sequels, expansions and more sequels of bad and even worse games. Even Dracula X Chronicles is nothing more than a remake + expansion (though a pleasant one).
And PS3 is definitely not overpriced. It simply has so much stuff in it.

The original game wasn't in SNES, it was in PC-Engine and only for japan. The SNES version is a bad (really BAD) xD port ;)

The way to the Wyvern boss IS NOT THE ALTERNATE ROUTE. That's the Main route.
and there's not many changes, only an added boss and one route.

It's not the 1st stage music. That's the 4th stage music, and yes, it does rock! Even though that song is altered slightly in the actual game.

psp is way better than the ds, if this game came out sooner then the ds would be a virtual boy by now (you all remember that system dont you?)

I think the DS is wayy better then PSP. PSP is just PS2 but in a smaller size. DS is something new, I'm talking touch-screen.

internet browser, mpg mpeg mp3 avi playback, rss feeds, memory stick duo compatible, it can play roms of all types even n64 and playstation, it also play umds, face it nintendo should grow up and stop marketing toys that undermind adult gamers

Pffft, that's just bullshit. Consoles are made for gaming. All the other companies market their consoles as "highly advanced multimedia devices" yet they still don't have any good games. Nintendos consoles may not have all the cool features that the others offer, but they still have a huge variety of great games.

No, gaming is about new ideas and innovations. Even a kid knows that. You have no use of power and advanced technology, if every single game sucks.
And in terms of advancement, the Wii motion sensor is a lot more advanced idea than just some extra horsepower.

ok i get your point..... but ill tell you why i hate nintendo, the gba came out and had mainly games that were on the famicom, so those who bought into that bought into nothing new, ds is better but not by much, ive been a sony man since ps1, i was a nintendo man since game boy original, but then the advance came out and tottally pissed me off= no more nintendo at all, i even have a 360 and not a ps3 SOOO it being over priced i will boycot it for a while

GBA had two great Metroid -games, that were a reason enough to buy it. And most of the PSP -games are nothing new as well. Sequels, expansions and more sequels of bad and even worse games. Even Dracula X Chronicles is nothing more than a remake + expansion (though a pleasant one).
And PS3 is definitely not overpriced. It simply has so much stuff in it.

dracula x remake is based on a game only japan got to play,"rondo of blood" and it was a pc engine game ONLY, i found a way to download and play it for free, and ive found it to be the tuffest castlevania EVER, you can play gba EVERY SINGLE game for FREEE!!! download them from emuparadise, i feel so sorry for the idiots that bought into that heep.... Nintendo is just turned into bullshit and no one can sell me into it, im stickin with my 360, DONT LOSE SLEEP OVER IT
