About what you suggest at 2:39 ; try this: plug KBD CV OUT to VCA IN and VCA OUT to VCO2 CV IN ; by default EG1 is controlling the VCA. Set EG1 to 0 / 1.5 / 5 to get an idea of what you get. Eg1 now controls VCO2 independently from VCO1. You may also notice that both VCO nbeed to be tuned (or detuned the way you want) using VCO2's pitch button.
Then you can try to plug EG1 REV OUT to VCA control input to get inverted pitch envelopes, or tweak EG1/EXT button to get... Well I know you'll find out!
THE thing about analogue synths is the fluctuating nature of the electricity going through the components and the sound being created by that. THAT is why software emulations aint as good... cos they're just 01 emulations. Difference between organic and not.
Hello, Karatzioploitation: You know Korg have released a software version of this synth: the package is called the "Korg Legacy Analog Edition." It also includes 2 other synths( the Korg Mono/Poly and the Korg PolySix.) The entire package costs about £150 in the UK, I'm not sure how much it costs in the US, but there wouldn't be much price difference. Check it on eBay.
Software is great at most things - but when it comes to emulating analogue synths it fails in a massive way. The vsti's do show the functionality but the sound is nowhere near.
@flitemedia: hello. In a lot of cases that's true, but not in Korg's(in my opinion). I have a Mono/Poly and an M1 at home, both of which I've used extensively - the virtual versions, which I now use, are very faithful - amazingly so, and have all of the subleties of the originals. Of course they have less of that Phat, thumpy bassiness of the originals, but there again the same could be said of CD's in comparison with vinyl records.
@MaxTallon Hi m8 - I agree that the Korg software is good; I really like the Wavestation, software does a good job of digital synthesis; I'm selling my DX7 since the FM7 is so good. But, true analog sound from software? Nowhere near!
@flitemedia :hello. Thanks for your reply. I can only speak from my own experience with the Korgs - and there are very few things my analog Korg Mono/Poly can do that my software version can't. I'm sure its not the same witrh all softsynths, 'though.
@flitemedia +1. Software emulations of analogue synths are ok, but they definitely aren't as good as the real thing. I own the MS20 btw. I've heard the legacy software and it's meh.. it gets the sound but doesn't cut as hard and aint as messed up as my real thang. Software sucks.. but for easy access for 1000000000 people it works... but then, I'm a sound man and for me the real thing sounds better. What's next, a software emulation of a fender strat? u get me!
cool, ive wanted an analogue synth for ages now but when faced with trying one nothing makes sense and i dont know were to start. The part at 3mins is exactly how the begining of flicking your switch by ladytron. so ive learnt something already! nice 1
Love your stuff! Fabulous. Got an Ms 20 myself and youve helped me understand a great deal more of this beast. Thank you!Love your stuff! Fabulous. Got an Ms 20 myself and youve helped me understand a great deal more of this beast. Thank you!

I had never seen white MS20 in Japan.
and I think It's cool!
Is it painted?

@marcoxmiso It is painted. Someone didn't do a very good job when they painted it, either. It would have been very nice if they had!
