I'm getting the Wavemaster XXL for striking and boxing, and the Ringside Cobra reflex bag industrial. I live in an apartment but its well worth the money. they last long and any boxer would recommend it.
Re Bradley Gallagher 1888. Your question. What will boxing do for you. More than you would imagine. It will help with your hand eye coordination, Your balance, your confidence, your heart. Boxing is great cardio, builds stamina, your reflexis,
You won't get picked on in school lol
If you need any tips feel free to email me iv been a boxer for 30 years. I'm at eddiep334@aol.com
@taddy666333 Lol??? Non or barely anything. Hitting the heavy bag will increase punching power and tone you up. You'll keep the weight. If you want to lose weight, proper dieting and cardio.
@taddy666333 Sure it is but you will barely lose anything without proper dieting. Im just saying punching the bag every day is not the way if your trying to lose weight.
@juliestar12345 Naaa weight dropping mostly depends on proper dieting. I have friend that's a pro boxer. He doesn't hit the bag all day to lose weight. He wears a sauna suit running 2 hours in the morning and 1 hours at night with a strict diet- most of his weight drops from running and diet. Barely anything from the bag. mid day at the gym for 2-4 hours depending if he's sparring or not.
@Redsiix Yup. losing weight is 80% what you shove in your mouth and 20% exercise. You can literally burn a lot of fat without exercise, but you'll end up looking like that Jared dude from subway, like a fat skinny guy
@Juunkead If you lower your calorie intake without exercise you will find that your weight will remain the same, sometimes your weight will even increase as a result of your body responding to what it believes will be a time of austerity. But the body will keep usually try to keep your weight and build the same as much as possible, and resist drastic changes. Interval training is the best known type of exercise regimen for speeding up your metabolic rate and burning calories.
hey Redsiix do you have any problem with the Freestanding bag? I'm debating wether to go with the Freestand or get a 100 pound bag and heavy bag stand? thanks
@suarez85 It slides a lot. I rolled up a lot of grip tape at the bottom so it helped a little. Other then that it's just for fun. Get the heavy bag if you're serious with boxing.
@Redsiix cool....well i like the fact that it rolls easily to the side, but nah is not serious boxing just to release some stress you know, I cannot hang it on the garage since its too high and i hear alot of bad things on the heavy bag stand not to mention it takes alot of space..thanks
hey, good to see people asking for tips. What you wan to watch is how you telegraph, meaning how you show what you're about to do. On almost all of your punches you tend to cock the arm back. Another fighter will look for that, and will know what you are about to do. It makes you a predictable fighter. Also, work on keeping your feet closer together. The wider your feet the more stable, but stable means stationary, and a good boxer has to be mobile. Start with that.
If you're still seeking advice a year on, I'd raise the issue of your stance and balance. Strike placement is good, but with you seem to favour fighting on your toes, something a keen counter-striker would notice and exploit. Just a bit of input.
@Blackjesus3 Your better off with a hanging bag if you plan on going amateur or pro. The freestand is cool if you're just messing around just for a workout.
The only thing I would say is maybe switch up your stance from Southpaw to Orthodox. Most of your power shots are coming from your lead hand, but your left straights don't look as strong. So it looks like you just throw a left straight in for combination, not to land a power shot. That's just my input, a southpaw with a powerful jab and hook is pretty scary in itself, makes a nice hybrid if you force yourself to be southpaw when you're not naturally.
I really don't like these bags. I bought one that broke in half within a few days. Then the guy on Ebay I got it from sent me out replacement parts which lasted about a month till it broke yesterday. Have decided to thrash it and just buy a damn heavy bag. They're a lot cheaper too.
lol i bought that sucker years ago. i think it was like 120$. When you hit it it'll slide a lot, so it would be a good idea to put some grip on the bottom. I rolled up some grip tape and put it all over the bottom. Doesn't slide much after that.
Yeah that base "IS" completely filled up with water. Perhaps sand might make it heavier but then i wouldn't be able to roll it around cuz that sucker is already heavy. i think its 225 at the base or 250 with water.
You have plenty of energy, and you throw Punches in Bunches... You're moving around the Bag very well, and at times you show power... Good Video keep them coming .... 5 STARS
I put a new video on the TUBE yesterday and I know you will like it, please check it out ! ! !

@peiray I can throw from both stances. I just feel like I have more power throwing a straight and a lead hook from a south paw stance.
