  • Boy things have changed since then with SOPA and PIPA on the table

  • Fuck corporations.

  • Zero video responses...

Before you get all fired up about any comments left about anything here, consider the possibility that an employee of a telecom company was paid to open multiple accounts to spam this page. Anonymity is nice, but having an actual face to place on comments left on ANY issue would be interesting wouldn't it?

  • We just got a look at how it WILL ALL WORK

Indiscriminately ripping down 73,000 unrelated BLOGS in one "neutral" act of OBAMA TYRANNY! Sorry, George's ghost must have come back and did it?

REMEMBER PEOPLE, if Obama "agrees with something" that "sounds" good, then it's stripping at least one of your rights. HE does NOTHING that allows you more FREEDOM.

WORSE YET, we can't even get a "GENERIC" answer to WHY THEY STOLE THESE PEOPLE'S BLOGS?

I'm guessing one reason was, too many were anti-Obama

  • @YOURpervertexposer

you may be the stupidest man alive.

  • It's all MUTE after a crooked "NON-representing" congress members are finished being bought. One of the commonly agreed to statements with overwhelming approval on all sides and the FCC states we should be able to "access the lawful Internet content of their choice?"

We know what that means. 5000 unread pages later, we'll get access to what we want, AFTER crooked congressmen and women decide what is "lawful." That will be determined by equelly crooked and greedy ISP's

    CAREFUL WHAT YOU AGREE WITH

  • What a fucking joke! The Internet is free you morons. Any Government involvement would monitor and filter information. Anyone that supports this needs to use the Internet in China and see how they like it!

  • @ucannotescape

When will people ever get it in your head, you lose all respect and credibility when your mouth does this.

Imagine the power we'd have if you folks would clean it up so we wouldn't be embarrassed to work with you.

YES SIR, there are still people who DO NOT believe it necessary to talk like a rebellious jerk.

As long as this is your tone, we will remain divided and powerless.

  • What a fucking joke! The Internet is free you morons. Any Government involvement would monitor and filter information. Anyone that supports this needs to use the Internet in China and see how they like it!

  • NO THIS IS THE WORST IDEA EVER. this video was creating with all its funny pictures and popular people to make it LOOK appealing when in reality, what will happen once that bill is signed we, the people using the internet, will be forced to pay a fee to even use google, or to log on facebook.

THIS IS AN AWFUL IDEA. they are trying to screen what we can and cannot look at on the web.

read the clauses of the bill.

what exactly is "lawful content" ?

    IT IS A TRICK.

  • The internet was created by a government program, so all of you who are ginning up fear about a government takeover, you don't know what the hell you're talking about. Read up on it.

The Internet has since become a place that is an unequal playing field where small business can no longer compete.

If you like business, then you should read the bill and see for yourself what it's about. Don't listen to the hate mongers. They are playing politics with something that isn't political.

  • Net Neutrality protects consumers from an increasing grab from ISPs to corrupt the Net, making users pay higher fees for access, creating subnetworks, and creating haves and have nots, fracturing the Net. This legislation is the right way to go, and it's not partisan. Every American who can afford it should have access, including school children. Without this legislation, the Net will become stagnant. It will not raise costs one bit. This is not factual, and has no factual basis.

  • H.R.3458 - Internet Freedom Preservation Act of 2009 Yeah it sounds good but it's about more regulation which would raise cost to the consumer. They should call it the Internet Control and Screw the Consumer Act.

  • I knew i`d love Obama

  • You either get it or you don't. Keep up the good work Obama.

  • Where is the sound?

  • I am just concerned when Obama says something will be free. Please define free. Forgive me but I am just going from past experience.

  • this is something so worth fighting for...future generations will thank us if we can keep network neutrality.

  • Yes, our communism organizer is at it again... Let's get our magnifying glasses out to read the small print.

  • Congressman Roy Blunt's office sent me a shmoozy little email back how important this was and how much he appreciated my input, but failed to say how he felt about it.

  • The net is free right now, anytime governments pass bills or laws on something - AMERICAN's lose freedoms. Just another way Obama's people can get control over something so they can shut down sites that speak out against them like in Iran. Piss off Obama before you get pissed on.

  • That's a broad, absolute statement. I urge you to find out how Net Neutrality is for our educational and financial protection. You don't have to hate it just because Obama is promoting it.

  • Oh this is what they call "net neutrality"??? Well, then you definately have to read small print. I am not so familiar with it, but freedom fighters fight fiercly against it and say it's another government takover. I guess we both have to do more research, since this is now coming our way...

  • "Freedom fighters" is a surprisingly a broad term and, unfortunately, it's a term used by both sides. I've read the bill word for word. Google "H.R. 3458" so you can know the truth.

  • Regress: thanks for the info, I will check it out. Times have come when we can't trust our elected representatives--we, the people, should read all the bills ourselves...

  • Net is neither 't' truth nor 't' touch... all we need is imagination... Cheers Obama. The ones who is afraid of 't' will perish by belly.... freedom is indisputable.. love is true...

  • WTF??

  • the internet is our last bastion of defense against an overreaching, deceitful government!

  • ... And that means that the stuff I DO like to browse online, would not be worth browsing. I don't know about you, but having to put up with the same sort of content as on TV makes the internet worthless. I know people (myself included) who stopped watching TV because everything on it is shit. I don't know what I would do with my time if it wasn't for some of the stuff on the internet today.

  • GET UP STAND UP FOR YOUR RIGHT.

HOHOHOHHOH, the essence of freedom is the community who wants to live free .But the word "community" refers to communism even if it is not the same communism of Russia and China but the idee is the same.Stop to denigrate this idea.People talks about bad things about the communauty byt they don't know nothing or what they learned at school without any critics by hisself on the historical point of view.

  • The internet only became useful to the public when free enterprise was allowed to participate. Free enterprise will work out any kinks that might come along; government interference can only damage or destroy whatever it attempts to control.

  • американцы , вы внаткре долбаёбы !

  • It's Net Neutrality, or the Net will never be the same. It will make it so that startups and smaller companies would have a really tough time online, having to pay huge fees for their website to be on the same 'pipes' as the bigger websites. Without Net Neutrality, smaller sites wouldn't be here today, companies like google. They started out small, and without net neutrality, who know how far they would have gotten. Maybe we wouldn't have seen them now, Google and Youtube wouldn't even exist!

  • @MornWatch, lol at name

Obama asked for emails of FUD so they can better turn out the message debunking said FUD.

People need to start getting their facts straight.

  • WHATTTT? I would like to see the small print on this. Sounds like another Patriot Act to me. More government intervention. Say NO to BIG GOVERNMENT. We have no problems with the internet. This is ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!

  • After this White House just asked for people to turn in neighbors to the government for criticizing Obama's plans, you have every right to be wary.

Given the stuff I just read on their site. I'm more convinced they are about partisan politics as usual. All I'm getting is to fear vague things and give us vague amounts of money and new authoritative powers.

  • Actually this isn't Patriot Act bs. It's a reaction to a very real sinister plot by major media companies to make more money off of the internet. They want to change the culture so that different content costs more or less money. And if you want to make premium content, then you get to pay them, and they give priority to your data. Don't pay up, and your data sits until the premium data goes by. It's all about money in the bag for AT&T, Viacom, etc.

  • Actually this IS BS. It is marxism. Why should you not ponny up for a premium content? We pay more for every service that's premium. If you want everything equal go to Cuba.

  • I don't know about you, but I don't watch any shows online. The only things I watch are pirated/copyright breached movies/series, and none of them are new. I've had to go to websites that have shitty bandwidth, and it sucks. And I've also been to websites, that have good bandwidth, but didn't have that many viewers. Turning the internet into something like cable TV would suck, because it would mean that only the most popular stuff would have good bandwidth...

  • You have a point there. But I would like to argue that there are many sources on the internet. It is not like just one cable company offering a cable TV service. I cannot trust the government regulation knowing how socialistic and free speech opposing it has become. Looks like government against free markets and that just does not sit well with me. Not with this administration not with Napolitano, Emanuel and Pelosi in charge.

  • 1. This bill is the government controlling the DEregulation of the internet. 2. If the ISP's get their way, this will destroy small business online because people won't visit their sites. Say you blog for a living, being paid for having ads on your page. How will you stay afloat? Go to the monopoly holder? Even they won't pay you as much for adds because THERE IS NO COMPETITION. That is against free market.

  • Oh, I so don't trust that government will give us more freedom. Youtube freedomwatch.

  • They're not offering to GIVE us anything. It's about protecting what we have--freedom to be educated online from billions of sources instead of 5 major networks like television. You're pretty harsh on government (as if it's one big talking head in the sky), but you fail to see who their masters are--the big corporations.

  • Well, all government is ultimately bs, but as things go, this is not bs. This is actually about lessening the hold of large corporations and encouraging free speech, etc. "ponnying up for premium content on the internet" is like being required to pay more for saying certain words on the phone.

  • Obama wants to pass this?? you are kidding right?

  • thats the thing about being a liberal: civil rights are protected, big companies get regulated. Its not big government for both.

  • completely backwards my friend - REPUBLICANS HAVE ALWAYS BEEN FOR MORE CIVIL RIGHTS! learn your history

  • Like the Civil Rights Act?

  • Yea, in like 1860.

  • yes Lincoln was a republican and against slavery ,as was ML King

  • You are completely right. The concept behind true republicanism is government that doesn't interact much in terms of national policy.

  • This bill has nothing to do with partisan politics. That said:

The Republican party of today is *nothing* like the former Federalist Party that became the early Republican party.

Republicans lost their way when they embraced the radical religious hate filled fringe of extremists and racists and turned their backs on their own party platform.

Democrats upheld the right to vote, brought us out of the first Republican Great Depression (we are now in the second) and reigned in corporate theft.

  • Your assessment sounds fairly partisan to me. I believe the Democrats are taking the personal liberties away quickly and aggressively in this country and replacing the party with socialists ( perhaps even fascists)

  • It's Republicans that wiretap Americans without warrants; violated the Posse Comitatus Act; created secret and illegal prisons; removed civil liberties and chilled free speech by ejecting citizens from public rallies.

Democrats have consistently pushed for more freedoms for everyone. You need to learn some history and stop spouting hate speech. This bill will prevent companies from subverting free speech, including your ill informed propaganda based on lies. Read the bill. Stop spreading lies.

  • the problem is that Obama has endorsed this bill. As you know he is not about individual liberty and freedom so I would be very careful about signing ANY of his "nice new bills"

  • Personally I'd prefer if the internet just went away altogether.

  • you first :P

  • so.. what is it now???

  • why is obama passing the internet hate speech crime bill ,if i say some thing u don,t like i can be charged ? the bill passed the house and is in the senate n we know they don,t read bills ,i hope its true ,, i,ll check the link

  • Do you even understand the definition of lawful? Have you made it through High School? For something to be "unlawful" there must be a law on the books that says it is unlawful. And the government doesn't "deem" what is lawful. They vote on it, the law must be approved by a majority of both and house, and the President. And it must be held up by the Supreme Court.

  • So many of the comments on this video are crazy haters. This is about protecting America's founding values: openness, a free and open marketplace of ideas, and REAL choice and competition versus monopoly and discrimination.

  • the internet is already free, so this bill is gunna get rid of some freedom we already have...

this video isn't telling us something.

  • If Obama is behind this then you better bend over, again. I will not trust anything he or the left wing idiots want.

  • i totally agree.. there is something missing in this video...

  • Its a bill aimed at keeping the internet free, without this your ISP could essentially make you pay for 'packages' for 'channels'.

  • People This gov't with it's far left liberal secular progressive socialist marxist big brother agenda, will doom all of us. Free speech can not be silenced, this is america, they want to quite dissent and dumb down the masses. People from all sides wake up b4 it's to late, it is painfully obvious what this govt is doing, this is a democracy and we want to keep it that way. Not a right or dem issue this is a right and wrong issue. This type of change will destroy america, they will killourright

  • im tryin to be the number 1 subscribed person with only 1 vid on youtube

plz if you could help i thnk you

  • This bill will destroy free speech on the Internet.

  • This is a fareness doctrine for the Internet people. WAKE UP! THIS IS NOT AN ATTEMPT TO KEEP THE INTERNET FAIR, ITS IN ATTEMPT TO BLOCK DISSENT!!!

  • Don't fix something that's not broken

  • squash the little guy.

Exactly what this government has been doing since its origins

  • Obama voted for telecom immunity so I fully expect him to veto this.

  • Wake up people and read the bill! I would hope that by now you understand when the government titles a bill it means the oppsite of the title. But, rather we get a bunch of disinfo from people that never read anything but the title and people that work for the government feeding us lies. Look into it and you will see it's a bill for total government control of the internet!!!! Wake up sheep!!!!!!

  • I've read the bill and it seems legit. Do you have any quotes from the bill to back up your claim?

  • My claim is backed with history and bills that have been passed in the same way. I have been looking for a copy of this bill and even the STI website dosnt post a copy of it's own bill. LMAO! Whats that tell you??? Post a link for where you found a public copy of the bill that you read and back up your claim. Or have you just gone public with a lie? Please prove there is nothing to hide and post your copy. Odds are good you only post an excuse IMO.

  • I will send it to you via PM because youtube comments do not allow you to post web addresses in them. Also, there is a link to the bill in the Save The Internet article titled, "Internet Freedom in the House" which can be found on their website.

  • Thank you for the link. But thats a vauge outline or cover of the bill and not the bill it's self. If you read this outline it's filled with the word "Lawful" Without saying what is and is not "Lawful". They make it sound like they are fighting FOR online freedom. But the I am sure the true meaning is for them to say what is lawful and whats not. What we have now is freedom online. But if this pass's you will find it's a bill for restricting online content. We need to know whats lawful

  • Of course they mean what's established in existing laws. So basically, stuff like piracy is deemed unlawful. They can't use the bill to punish dissent, for the constitution deems freedom of speech lawful. But even if a bill were somehow passed in the future which limits freedom of speech, it would be the fault of that bill, not the internet freedom preservation act of 2009.

  • ehhhhhhhhhhhhh????????

    Nice job!

    5 stars from TheJapanChannel !

  • standforamerica, I don't understand your argument. You're saying "lawful" is bad? Ever stop at a traffic light? Are traffic lights a government conspiracy too?

  • This is about keeping the Internet the way it ALWAYS has been -- and protecting its openess from a handful of MONOPOLIES who want to take control. This is an issue that should bring together progressives AND conservatives. It's about innovation and a real open marketplace of ideas.

  • Uh huh.

    (rolls eyes)

  • ChrisfromSMD i so agree whit you,ppl must be dumb to not see, though this guy.

Juts look at his campaign words, what he does. And this waht he really try to do os to make sure he have controll.over ure actions on internet. How much more can you take of this guy?why do u form a revolusjon or anything to get this liar off the white house..he is just gonna take all u freedom, money and then comsume ure life..bleh,come to norway, peace

  • Can't you see that Obama says one thing but does exactly the opposite? His definition of neutrality is no internet at all. Stop following your serpent wannabe master!

  • "Serpent wannabe master?" Yikes... Do you really think this kind of fear and name-calling is going to help move America forward?

  • ROFLMAO!!! Obama is the biggest internet hacker in the world.

"Orwellian" doesn't begin to describe it.

  • YES TO NET NEUTRALITY!

  • Man, all I see is "America this, America that". Internet is not only present in the USA! Yet ONLY USA residents get to decide about something global?! That's unfair! And selfish.

I hate not being able to do anything about it, but that's what I get for being born a European, huh? Hope you guys know what's good for you (or more like everyone) and support NN.

  • tucsoke, this is an issue that will be decided by every country. we need to help our leaders in every country understand that the Internet is at a crossroads, and every country needs to decided on this. this particular video is about a bill introduced in the U.S. Congress -- thus the focus on America. but there's a lot happening on Net Neutrality right now in Canada, the UK, and European Union also.

  • We are big supporters, not only do you need to sign the petition, but have all your friends and family sign it to. Pass the word.

  • BY SIGNING THIS PETITION, YOU WOULD BE aiding the United States in maintainig its open and democratic right to social networking innovation, communication through the 1st Amendment, and most importantly, freedom of information for the generation of 2010 and beyond.

AMERICA, YOU WERE NOT FOUNDED AS A CLUELESS NATION. GET THIS THROUGH CONGRESS NOW!!!

  • Yes Yes Push it through! WE NEED NET NEUTRALITY !

  • Say bye bye to freedom of speech on the Internet. Seriously. Wake up America.

  • Burn Comcast at the stake!

  • Not clear on the concept of what Free Speech will mean after Obama abolishes the 1st and 2nd ammendment, but I'm all for prolonging the fight if necessary.

  • i gotta read the bill now... i just hope it doesn't have sneaky little garbage in it like the last time around.

  • Our time has come! We have a bill, a president, an FCC and -- hopefully -- a Congress that supports Net Neutrality. Take action at SavetheInternet.

  • Shweet. :D

  • Awesome!

  • Net neutrality now!
