I took this historical event and added my own twist. The Wardrobe is a thriller that links The Jersey Devil and Mephistopheles. Fiction based on historical events, adds terror to the story. Read it with your lights on and I would say that if you have a wardrobe keep it closed and your closet door. The Wardrobe by Susan Elliston an e book on Nook and on smashwords.
Do you know the description of these footprints, their look and the route they took, reminds me of the stories of the evidence left behind by the Jersey Devil.
I lived in the village of Starccross on the Exe estuary and it would have walked through there. Always thought the place although exceedingly beautiful had a dark cloud over it
Also according to historical records the snow was not deep. Perchance 0.5 to 1.0 inches thus a runaway balloon with hooves shaped shackles would leave a finer imprint than a foot deep snow.
Eyewitnesses claim the imprints showed some "jumping" or "bouncing".
So it looks quite logical a loose balloon with jumping U-shaped mooring shackles scared the towns.
Fear of the unknown conjures more fear to the faithless. The devil is just wicked men.
A person suggested an experimental balloon" released by mistake from Devonport Dockyard had left the mysterious tracks by trailing two shackles on the end of its mooring ropes. His source was a local man, Major Carter, whose grandfather had worked at Devonport at the time. Carter claimed that the incident had been hushed up because the balloon also wrecked a number of conservatories, greenhouses, and windows before finally descending to earth in Honiton.
if ya like horror stories then you should check out this new book Tales of terror from the irish Hellfire Club and is available to buy online at most online booksores. it's a collection of short Ghost stories which include a true tale about the Devil
this is bleedin' awesome. where is this stuff from anyway? is it made my someone for youtube or is it just some old stuff being reposted here? sounds like a radio show.
After a few years I uncovered - and this is true - that a local town worthy pulled the stunt to draw attention to the local vicar's bestiality with livestock - I know this is youtube and the net but I kid you not.
Honestly i would just say it's a horse or something and just get on with my day but that fact that it literally went through anything in its path on houses, walls or w/e and that it just stopped randomly completely mind fucks me. We learned about this today is literature so i had to check it out lol. Makes you think though doesnt it
This is definitely one of the best and most disturbing Witchfinder General episodes. Pretty hard to explain in any rational way. Alien life form come for a visit? I have no clue what it would be but a great story anyway, really makes you think. Not everything can be easily explained by science, there are still multitudes of mysteries to be solved and discovered. Thanks for the upload Chessmoon. :)
@5Hawk972 and much of scientific discovery as declared by the offical scientific community, is nothing but presumptious bullshit anyway.. of course most people never realize this, because they accept what authorities say blindly, due to their inability to think deeply, clearly, or do any reasonable scientific thinking for themselves whatsoever

This is one of my favorite stories. It's a very well documented case. I always thought it might have been a bird, who knows!
