wish i could go to twicon. reelz channel had a contest a month ago here in NY where the winner would be a guest correspondent. they announced the finalists on monday and i felt i had a pretty solid chance of at least making the cut, but alas they stuck within the "stereotypical" twifans for finalists. nothing against any of the finalists chosen, i was just hoping they could have shown how diverse a fan base the books have (beyond just the stereotype). i had some good stuff planned if i did win!

i was gonna take suggestions from friends and family for more gimmicks, but off the top of my head one thing i would have really wanted to do was "interview with a vampire". basically (assuming) if i was given interview time with the actors, i'd conduct 2 interviews with each cast member there - i.e. 1 standard interview with ashley and 1 fun one with "alice" (ashley in character). i got the idea immediately after seeing jimmy fallon's interview last month with "Zack Morris".

and i'm not sad i didnt make the cut, im just disappointed they stuck within the stereotype female teen-young adult fans for all the finalists. sure they're probably the majority the fan base is much more diverse than just that, so i was hoping at least 1 male (preferably me=) and/or a twilight mom (i saw at least 1 try out) made the finalists.
