RCBS is never clear on this; I bought the 3 die set and I have the seating and the crimping dies. What I can find online is that if the bullet is not cannelured, then I do not need to use the crimping die, I should just seat.
Now that I look at RCBS' directions again, they call them seating and expanding dies. They differ from your dies so maybe I should be using the expander to bell the case and not the powder measure. That would mean that the bullet would get seated at station 4, somehow I don't think I will sleep that well tonight. Damn early christmas presents.
5 stars on all your reloading vids, really good stuff. I started setting up my 550B this weekend your videos provided a lot of clarity that the instructions don't.
its easy to work your way down, but once you have gone too far your left with an improper round. its nice to be able to pull them out, but i generally just toss the round and start over. i also very rarely seat too deep. you will develop a 'feel' for how much to adjust the die after about 1000-2000 rounds.
Very grateful that you and some others have taken the time to do these vids! Merry Christmas to you!!

Is this correct?

I like to set my bullet seating die without a live shell. I.e. no primer or powder. Then I use an RCBS bullet puller to disassemble.
I like your trick of removing the cotter (?) pin so you can adjust the seating die easier.
