  • Oh it looks something betweeen Space Odyssey, Thunderbirds, and Jetsons to me.

  • Well, they may have been off in their prediction of air travel, but they did manage to predict the arrival of HeadOn (at 1:27). Who knew!

  • Robots that clean your clothes? The Airbus A380's got nothing on the supersonic jet.

  • Shine a light in your eye! Headache gone!

  • this would be a very nice way to fly.

  • Funniest part, in an ironic way: pressing a "FOOD" button on the plane to instantly get food. No food on planes these days.

  • The things you are about to see, won't look familiar because they haven't happened yet..... Yeah... AND NEVER WILL. It's too bad airports can't be THIS automated, especially in this day and age. Oh my God... I HATE GOING THROUGH SECURITY.... Especially in Atlanta, or Miami or any of the other Moster Hubs there are out there.

  • Lol @ 0.43, scratching your butt in the future.....

  • Braniff did run this commercial on TV in the late 1960s. I remember seeing this when I was a kid and it blew me away. It was so memorable. There isn't anything else quite like it except watching the Pan Am Orion Space Clipper on 2001 A Space Odyssey.

  • crazy stuff man

  • afreindly computer already knows more abut you dan you do, creepy!

  • The moving chairs remind me of the Gerry Anderson puppet shows of the 1960s.

    Thunderbirds are GO!

  • WOW! HA i almost believed this lol =P

  • itchy left buttock at .42

  • Is this a joke? did they actually publicise it?

  • So way cool!!!

  • HA!if only this was now. They don't know what is happening today is almost like that, just take out the superficial luxuries.

  • At :42, the person in the space suit scratches their ass lol.

Too bad Braniff (and a lot of other airlines) never got their big SST that was shown. Braniff tried the Concorde later, but that flopped for them as their flights were not long enough or full enough to make it feasible and it still had Air France emblazoned on the side.

  • Isn't that Richard Dawson (Family Feud host) at 1:29?

  • The future prediction in the past had always been backward after 20 years

  • haha awesome

  • You got it. This is from about 1966ish, as Braniff's other ads with Andy Warhol & Sonny Liston, as well as Whitey Ford/Salvador Dali are from 67. Sad that air travel never got like it was portrayed in this ad. Oh and Tara and shep, this commercial was not made IN 75. Much earlier.

  • Uhm, Where is Braniff now? I like the flying ground crew with his jet pack!!!

  • The friendly computer knows more about me than I do? That's frightening, and not very friendly!

  • the funny thing is almost 30 years later that is almost true!

  • Indeed!

  • When was this made.. Was this made in '75, or was it made earlier, and this is supposed to be 1975??

  • this is indeed in the year of 1975, as you can see in the closing seconds of the film this was the year that the Concorde was put into service by Braniff airways "The future" Aircraft however all the other Futuristic features never followed lol.

  • wow.. then that's a pretty dated future.. Think of Star Wars, which came out 2 years later, and (though it's actually a long long time ago..) looks more futuristic than this.

  • sadly some of our technology we just pass on, Look at the Concorde aircraft, with multi passenger air travel at supersonic speeds, yet we have yet to improve on it.

  • This is from the 60's and takes place in the future of 1975. This aired several times on Nick At Nite's TV Land when it was a new network. Honestly an ad "like" this now about commercial space travel (available sometime around 2015) would be best. Air travel has become a sorry, uncomfortable lost cause.

  • That's right, this is from the 60's. The airplance at the begining and end is the Boeing 2707-200 swing wing SST- NOT the Concorde.

  • @taraemory It was made in 1967.

  • Awesome! Where did this future go?

  • Hilarious!!! :-D Thanks for sharing!
