The things you are about to see, won't look familiar because they haven't happened yet..... Yeah... AND NEVER WILL. It's too bad airports can't be THIS automated, especially in this day and age. Oh my God... I HATE GOING THROUGH SECURITY.... Especially in Atlanta, or Miami or any of the other Moster Hubs there are out there.
Braniff did run this commercial on TV in the late 1960s. I remember seeing this when I was a kid and it blew me away. It was so memorable. There isn't anything else quite like it except watching the Pan Am Orion Space Clipper on 2001 A Space Odyssey.
At :42, the person in the space suit scratches their ass lol.
Too bad Braniff (and a lot of other airlines) never got their big SST that was shown. Braniff tried the Concorde later, but that flopped for them as their flights were not long enough or full enough to make it feasible and it still had Air France emblazoned on the side.
You got it. This is from about 1966ish, as Braniff's other ads with Andy Warhol & Sonny Liston, as well as Whitey Ford/Salvador Dali are from 67. Sad that air travel never got like it was portrayed in this ad. Oh and Tara and shep, this commercial was not made IN 75. Much earlier.
this is indeed in the year of 1975, as you can see in the closing seconds of the film this was the year that the Concorde was put into service by Braniff airways "The future" Aircraft however all the other Futuristic features never followed lol.
wow.. then that's a pretty dated future.. Think of Star Wars, which came out 2 years later, and (though it's actually a long long time ago..) looks more futuristic than this.
sadly some of our technology we just pass on, Look at the Concorde aircraft, with multi passenger air travel at supersonic speeds, yet we have yet to improve on it.
This is from the 60's and takes place in the future of 1975. This aired several times on Nick At Nite's TV Land when it was a new network. Honestly an ad "like" this now about commercial space travel (available sometime around 2015) would be best. Air travel has become a sorry, uncomfortable lost cause.
Oh it looks something betweeen Space Odyssey, Thunderbirds, and Jetsons to me.

Well, they may have been off in their prediction of air travel, but they did manage to predict the arrival of HeadOn (at 1:27). Who knew!

Funniest part, in an ironic way: pressing a "FOOD" button on the plane to instantly get food. No food on planes these days.

That's right, this is from the 60's. The airplance at the begining and end is the Boeing 2707-200 swing wing SST- NOT the Concorde.
