nice fish nice fish...and nope there's no sturgeon in australia...these are white sturgeon, only found in west coast of the U.S. they travel into rivers to spawn and head all the way north to fraser river in canada(some). and also yes its legal to keep these fish, 1 per day for per person...3 per year for per person for the limit. size slot is 46-66", use to be 46-72" and no yearly limit but 1 per day for per person, but due to illegal caviar selling and poaching, and fish population, its change

Yes, it's a legal fish according to the 2007 California Ocean Recreational Fishing Regulations for the North-Central Management Area - San Francisco Bay District. It is within the DFG size slot (46"-66") and caught outside the closure area.
