The EMS Synthi A, always had a 24dB/Oct filter, I believe that only the very early VCS3's had a 18dB/Oct filter, the major difference between the filter design by David Cockerell of EMS, was that he used diodes, unlike Moog,and A.R.P. which used transistors in the circuit, a brief search for the schematics will reveal all.

Now I know why Merzbow uses this particular synth. Im trying to figure out the VST version of it right now, and its a bit baffling.
